CanadaPlanning my POE on Sunday in Blaine WA

They're two separate border crossings. Simple as that. They're only five minutes or so away from one another, but they ARE different.

Peace Arch is for passenger vehicles and RVs etc. only, while the Truck Crossing / Pacific Highway is for passenger vehicles AND commercial vehicles like buses and semis. Peace Arch is at the end of Highway 99, while the Truck Crossing is at the end of Highway 15. Both junction with the I-5 on the other side.

and so what is the preferred crossing???? I guess as long as they both meet the I-5 all is good!!

Congrats!! That's so encouraging!

We went for our biometrics on Friday. The humor wasn't lost on me that they were playing the movie E.T. in the waiting room! hahaha I laughed when I saw it, I figured it was probably an inside joke for the employees.

now we wait two weeks and get our card, just like Rocky n Bullwimkle! please please please please :innocent:

Good Luck Julie!!!

And it also depends what country the beneficiary is from. Some consulates are quick, some, not so much. Remember those time estmates are just that "estimates"

ahhhhhhhhhhhhh.....

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresQuestion
In G325a and I-130 forms, you will be asked for your present address until the oldest address you used. In I-130 you will be asked for the present address of which you live together. So basically, just put the real deal of your address there.

Zan and I have never lived together...we got married and I returnrf to Canada...so...all my addresses would be here and last address where we lived together would be??? none?????

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresUSCIS
I am so freaking confused,.... I enter the case number ion the USCIS website and for the last three weeks the message has been the same....

Current Status: Case received and pending.

On December 19, 2008, we received this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN, and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on this notice. We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service. We process cases in the order we receive them. You can use our processing dates to estimate when yours will be done. This case is at our CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER location. Follow the link below to check processing dates. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register.

We have received a letter from them dated March 9th, 2009 that says Approval notice, but the site still remains unchanged. Also....when will I receive a caser number for the next step, as I am assuming it will come from NVC.....

Can someone clarify all this for me??? Thanks

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresconfused..please help

You MAY be given 6 months to stay, you may not. You must leave when your allowance in the US is over. You'll do the interview in either Montreal or Vancouver, depending on where you live, and you'll do the medical there as well

Good luck

if she is doing the CR-1..I was under the impression those were all done through Montreal 'regardless' of where you live....

and i can say from experience...ALWAYS ALWAYS have your folder of documents with you when you cross the border, and be prepared to be turned away...it doesn't happen often, but it can happen. Always make sure you can support ties and clear intent to return to Canada.....

Best of Luck!!!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresMedical ?

Hi Everyone

when is the medical done for the cr1 visa? Do i have to schedule the app. or is the same day as my interview?

Like Wyatt said..it depends on the country you are in.....you can go online or search this forum for a list of Doctor's that are certified to do the Medicals..and if you are in Canada...be prepared for the cost...it is not covered under any Medical...

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK-1 Fiance Visa
My fiance and I want to live together ASAP. I plan on moving down there in May of this year. I know I can visit the USA for up to six months. While i am down there, and once my divorce is finalized here in Canada, can i apply for the K-1 Visa? And once i apply am i allowed to stay down there for the time being until it is processed?

Can someone clarify this???

CAN you live in the US while you are waiting for the K-1 (and i assume the K-1 is the same as the I-129f???)

That was the plan Zan and I amde, but all information we got was NO!!! DO NOT ATTEMPT TO MOVE TO THE US UNTIL AFTER THE VISA IS GRANTED...

so...please...could someone clarify this.....

thanks

a lot are "Not ge Appropriate" so that needs to be taken into consideration.....

I think (i am stressing think here) That..a Complete Vaccine History would be a check mark on EVERYTHING>>>> and because we don't have to have certain things now...such as HapA or B, HPV and so on because you land in a certain age group...your Vaccine History would be incomplete...

soo...that is how i see it anyway... anyone?

[quote name='zenaxe' date='Jan 25 2010, 09:14 PM' post='3660035']
As always, I'll well ahead of myself but that truly is how I roll so no sense fighting it lol....that said, I'm wondering about something. I called the travel clinic today to discuss getting my Tdap - I've now had the second dose of MMR (1st as a child). I know I've had the chicken pox as a child but will likely require titres /blood work or maybe I'll just get the vaccination again.

The question is around the Tdap. I'm advised by the travel clinic that in order for me to get this shot, I'm to make an appointment with their doctor or the nurse practitioner and have a consult - there is a cost naturally ($40) then the cost of the Tdap of $45. If I don't do this ahead of time I can probably be seen by the travel clinic on the coast after the Woking appointment. But I would prefer to have things done sooner than later.

So have others experienced this ie doctor appointment by the travel clinics and the consultation for the immunication? I may also explore my own physician for the shots.

I'm just wondering if others have done it this way or what the experience has been. This is, of course, above and beyond the Woking medical examination costs etc. I was initially told by the public health nurse that gave me the MMR that wouldn't have to pay for this shot and I would only have to make an appointment for the Tdap without anything attached ie travel clinic doctor consultation but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Comments?

Thanks...

Well...I personally went to my doctor, who is also a personal aquaintance..and explained all the shots and steps I needed...he wrote the prescription for the Tdap and then I brought It back to him and he gave me the injection.....cost me 38.00 for the prescription

I made sure that he wrote out on his prescription pad the date of the injection and that he administered it so I had proof for the medical..all was fine!
