Myself and my Fiance are applying for a K1 visa and would love if soemone could help us out. we are wondering who do we make the money order out to when we are filing our petition. We have to send it to the Vermont office. Any information is much appreciated.

thanks

1. The check or money order must be drawn on a bank or other financial institution located in the United States and must be payable in U.S. currency; and
2. Make the check or money order payable to U.S. Department of Homeland Security, unless:
C. If you live outside the United States, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands, contact the nearest U.S. consulate or embassy for instructions on the method of payment.

NOTE: Please spell out U.S. Department of Homeland Security; do not use the initials "USDHS" or "DHS."

i-129f instructions

People always hate on me for saying this but frankly, if you're not willing to carefully read form instructions, this process is going to be very diffucult and dissappointing indeed. I'd suggest you go back and read the instructions carefully and do the same with the VJ guides to see what else you may have missed. Even then, it's easy to miss or forget things.

We were putting the finishing touches on my brother in-law's I-130 last night over the phone and just as we were hanging up, he says, "So I mail this to the Nebraska address, right?"

The visual would be my head shot next to.... headbonk.gif

food for thought - the vj example does not list the intructions, the link i provided above is to uscis.gov

I just wanna know if it is at all possible to apply for the k1 visa with a reasonable explanation for the lack of that requirement. Is it at all possible to start?

It is NOT possible to petition for a fiance one has never met in person - it will be rejected and the fee will not be returned.

(This will occur in virtually every case - the only exception would be if you had not met for religious reasons - and forget about developing 'sudden religious reasons' because they know which circumstances this applies to.)

i know of one case on vj where they didn't meet in person, but that was due to being unable to fly for medical reasons.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresTrue or False?
QUOTE (tjxu97 @ Jan 21 2009, 11:02 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I have read different stories throughout the internet about marrying in the US. I have always been told that if you plan to marry your parnter in the US, they MUST come over on a fiance visa to do it legally. However, I heard and seen more frequently that if they are here as a tourist and we decide to get married after they're already here, then it's legally and we can do the necessary paperwork to keep them here.

Is this true or false?

If true, what steps do we need to take?

Regards,

Jess

I have always been told that if you plan to marry your parnter in the US, they MUST come over on a fiance visa to do it legally
- True

if they are here as a tourist and we decide to get married after they're already here, then it's legally and we can do the necessary paperwork to keep them here.
- maybe. if the individual entered the country with immigration intent (i.e. marrying) then they could be in a lot of hot water. it's all about intent, of which the burden of proof is pretty much on the shoulders of the ones doing this.

What is the reason for making copies? And does this mean of checks as well?

What to send to your fiance(e) once the I-129F is approved (Receive NOA2):
1. A copy of the entire I-129f package (that you made when you sent the petition in) and a copy of information that you sent back due to an RFE (if you received one).

My boyfriend is Argentine and I am from the US. I will be going back to Argentina in March to
try and start papers for my boyfriend to come here so we can get married. We have heard so many different things. We don't know what to do. I hope someone on here has been through the same thing as we are going through now and can give us some good information on what to do to speed things up so we don't make costly mistakes. Some have said go ahead and do the K 1 fiance visa but then others say no, get married in Argentina and apply for a K 3 which they say will take 8 - 10 months and then he will be able to move here with me. But still others say get a tourist visa and just get married here when he comes but others say this is fraud and will cause even more problems. HELP Can ANYONE out there tell me what is the best and fastest way to accomplish this???

do not do that.

You're the one wearing the panties. No financial documentation is filed with the petition. Nothing on the I-134 goes in the petition filing. You'll see the other organizers moving the I-134 related questions to the Embassy forum. You're as wrong about this as you were yesterday saying it's against terms of service to give immigration advice in PM's. Get over yourself and stop humping my cyberleg.

it's highly discouraged as there is no chance for another member to review said pm and the sender could be giving erroneous advice. it's best to ask for advice in open forum for that reason.

Its risky enough doing it on your own let alone with innocent children... what about their father? I cant imagine he would sign paperwork to allow you to do this blindly, I certainly wouldn't....

yes, it's better to find other translator because you are interested person in your case.

incorrect. there is nothing that i've seen on vj that supports that statement of yours. if you have a source that you can cite, please do so.

from the instructions of the i-129f:

Translations. Any document containing foreign language submitted to the Service shall be accompanied by a full English language translation which the translator has certified as complete and accurate, and by the translator's certification that he or she is competent to translate from the foreign language into English.

as for me, I know English too but I used translator's services for translation of my documents in Ukraine, but I could do it myself. How I was said that it would be better if someone makes this translations instead of you. And of course a translator has to have a license or certificate. That's all.

Regardless, Guangzhou is Guangzhou. Everything else is going to need to come from the Gong Zheng Chu, no matter what is submitted to USCIS with the petition.

"...going to need" when earlier it was "they are accustomed to seeing...."
point blank - is it required or can the op do it himself? that is the question.
