Hi everybody,
I got my noa 2 on august 11 and now i need alittle advice.
i have made out the I 134 and and have 05,06,07 tax returns
and i have proof of ongoing relationship. i need a letter signed from the bank now.
am i missing anything?
i`ll call dos tomorrow for new case number ,and to see when packet left and arrived in Bangkok.
is it good evidence to show proof that i send my SO money every month to help pay bills?

There's no need for a bank letter as long as your income is above the poverty level. Just tax transcripts and a letter from your employer should be enough.

if i don`t need a letter from the bank that will save me time,
i`m self employed and i make above the poverty level, and i`m planing on useing my 1040 forms.
thanks for the help !

There's a lot of information about what forms are needed when in the guides, you should check them out.

I actually did look over the example again, and it looks like the proper way is to put only the country in, according to that. There's a spot for state specifically on page 2, so save that for there.

Other than that, just having the fiancee do her part and she's going to UPS air the forms to me, should only take a couple days. Then I think I'm good to go ><

1. Okay, I have to admit that it made me giggle a little bit when you asked this blush.gif Please don't leave your name as Christophe because your name will go on the files that way unsure.gif Writing your name in ink while the rest of the form is typed is absolutely fine. I had to do that because my hometown wouldn't fit in the space mad.gif

2-4. Same thing, just write it in by hand as neatly as you can. Make sure it's not too hard to read because they will send you an RFE saying it's illegible. If you're too concerned about it, you could always just send a supplementary sheet numbered with the information that won't fit. whistling.gif

One of my credit cards has me as "Christophe" and I hate it tongue.gif

For 2, I'll just include a supplementary sheet. It's a really long address.

For 3 and 4, it sounds like you're saying to write in the state and country? The first reply said to just write the country, so I'm a little confused!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSome Minor Problems
I have a couple little problems that I'd like to prevent becoming bigger problems. I searched for few minutes but couldn't really find anything relevant, I hope I didn't totally miss anything. This is all regarding the I-129F.

1. My first name doesn't fit on the I-129F when typed! It's Christopher, and the r gets chopped off. Should I just write it out, while leaving the rest of it typed? Or can I leave it as Christophe?

2. My fiance address does not fit into line 2. How do I handle this?

3. For the (State or Country) part of item 2, she has a state and country, however, both won't fit in there. How do I handle that?

4. Item 3a, same thing, it has a (State/Country) box but they both don't really fit in there sad.gif

Thanks a lot for any help that can be provided!

Sorry to do this, but I'm just trying to make sure everything is in order!

1. My fiancee is latina, and has two last names. I use only her first (father's) last name on the forms, as I read somewhere in the guides. On the G325-A, do I do the same for her parents?

2. Also on the G-325A, one of my cities of past residence doesn't fit. Addendum for that? I could write it in, but it'd be really small. It's Huntington Beach, so I was thinking to put "Huntington B." in there (that's all that will fit) and then just have an addendum stating the full name.

3. G-325A again, for nationality for me, USA or American?

4. One more thing, her father is deceased. Should I state that somewhere on the G325-A? It seemed like it would be appropriate in the last section, country of residence, to name the country and say (Deceased) or something, since he's not really living anywhere.

5. Am I worrying too much about small details like these? tongue.gif

I'm sure I'll have more, but I think that's all for now!

You are not worrying too much, it needs to be correct or you will get RFEs which will delay your case.

1. Use her full and correct name on ALL forms, ALWAYS. Every time you enter her name on any form for the USCIS it should match exactly what is on her passport. Same for her parents, full and correct name. It does not matter if it is the same last name. My wife is Ukrainian (Russian) and even brothers and susters and mothers and fathers have different last names, there was never a question asked. Do not worry about other government documents, match the passport. If she used any different last names (married name for example) enter that in the appropriate places where it asks for "other names used" if any, some of the forms you run across in this process will ask that.

2. You will have to attach an addendum either way. Make sure you use a separate sheet for each answer, put your name as petitioner, your fiancees name as beneficiary and clearly state it is "answer to question #____ on form G325 for (your or her name), (beneficiary or petitioner)

3. Your Citizenship is "United States of America"

4. State her father is deceased in the part that asks country of residence

This is your correct answer. Attention to detail is important and USCIS absolutely does care that the forms are complete. If somebody is deceased, then their current place of residence is deceased. Some later forms may ask for the year of death. The DS 230 does, so be prepared for that.

Thanks! So let's see:

1. The information about putting only the first last name was wrong, then? I haven't seen why to only put the first last name, so I was questioning that.

2. Is typing "Huntington B." and then including an addendum for it fine, then? Also, I have two where the town South Burlington. This doesn't fit either. Is So. Burlington fine, or addendum for that, too ><

3. USA ok? United States of America doesn't fit.

4. Mexico (deceased) ok? That seems to make the most sense to me.

From what I understand, there's a way to change your address with USCIS when you move, so it shouldn't be a problem. I can't remember the details though, if I find it I'll post back.

I've read so much stuff in the last week I don't remember where in particular most of it came from wacko.gif

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures1-129f document translation
Just read, and keep reading. Read USCIS's page, read everything on this site, browse the forums a lot, and just gather as much information as you can. At the beginning I was pretty intimidated by everything, but I spent a solid 2 weeks just researching in my free time and by the end of it I think I put together a pretty solid petition. You'll undoubtedly find some contradictory information (as I did), but just keep educating yourself and you'll be able to make decisions on your own. Good luck.

You don't need a police certificate for the I129-F. If you have questions like these, you should really read through the guides, they're very helpful and state pretty clearly what you should be sending in with the form. As far as the translation goes, I'm not really sure, but I hope someone else can help you with that.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresArgentine and US couple HELP!!!
From what I've seen, using a tourist visa isn't really a good idea. It works a lot, but from what I gather, unless you can really prove that the other person didn't come here just to marry you, they'll reject you. If rejected, I doubt that makes it any easier to get a K1 or K3.

Have you given thought to if you can actually support her? I'm not trying to be mean or anything, just asking a honest question. It is marriage, and financial difficulty does often and unfortunately put a lot of stress on marriages. Granted, I have no idea what your situation is, but you should really ask yourself that. I understand she intends to work when she gets here, but with a worsening economy, it is possible she might not be able to get a job, and you really have to take that into account.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresTravel here on normal VISA before getting K1?
My fiancee has an idea, and I'm not sure if it will work or not, so I'm posting here. What we're wondering is if she can come here on her normal visa until we get a response from USCIS about her K1. She'd then go back, do the song and dance packet 3 and packet 4, get the K1 at the embassy, and then come back under her K1? I don't really see any problem with this, but I'm just throwing it out there since you guys know a lot. Thanks!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWaiting for K1, recently laid off
I submitted my petition for a K1 Visa back in January, and I've been waiting for approval since then. Last monday, I was laid off from my work. So, two things:

1. Will I need to update anything with USCIS, now, or when I get a new job?

2. The way I understand it, my fiance won't be able to get the visa until I get a new job (needing the affidavit of support and all), is this true?

Thanks!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHow much money should we have?
Hi everyone,

I have yet to begin this entire process with my fiance. I am from America, and he is Moroccan. My biggest worry is that neither of us have enough money to be approved. I am a student, with only about $2000 to my name, but I know that my parents and family are willing to help and even put more money in my bank account when it comes time to show my bank statements to the government. My fiance, on the other hand, has no bank. We both have family willing to help us out with visa expenses, but I'm wondering how much he should have in the bank!
Any and all help will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures3 questions: Fiance's parents birthdays; name of employer; fiance letter of intent
Hi everyone,

I've just begun filling out my I-129f and g-325a to bring my Moroccan fiance to the US.

The process seemed pretty clear cut at first, but now I've begun to sweat about messing up tiny details!

My first question: My fiance knows the years that his parents were born, but not the day or month. Should we put 01/01 as the day and month, or simply leave that out and just write in the year?

Second question: When listing both my own and my fiance's employers, do we have to write the names of our bosses or just the name of the company we worked for?

third question: For the fiance letter of intent, will it look sketchy if mine and my fiance's are exactly the same (except, of course, for our names)? I am using the example form posted on this website as my guide, and it seems very direct and to the point so I'm guessing it wouldn't be a problem, but I am still a little concerned. Also, when writing the USCIS address on this form do I write P.O. Box number of the Dallas Lockbox? That is where I am supposed to send my petition according uscis.gov site.

I can't begin to tell you all how much I appreciate this website and all the time, care, and effort so many people across the globe put in to help other! Keep it up, and thanks a bunch!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-129F question: describeing the circumstances under which we met
Hi Everybody!

I have just about everything ready to send in for step one of petitioning for our k1 visa! The visajourney check off list suggests attaching a whole separate page for question 18 of the I-129F (describing the circumstances under which we met.) I can fit the basic details short and sweet into the form itself...so should I really expand the story into something longer?

Here is what I managed to fit onto the I-129F application:

We met September 10, 2011 in Marrakech, Morocco. I was living in Morocco, receiving my TESOL and teaching English. We met in his shop in the marketplace, and we got along so well I went back every day. I was looking for a place to live at the time, and Mohamed offered me a room in his sister's house. We lived together until the end of November, when I had to return to the USA.

Is that enough, or should I elaborate?

Thank you so much!!!
Peace, love, and light!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhen should I have a Senator petition on my behalf?
Hi Everyone,

I sent my I-129F about ten days ago and just received my NOA1. I would like to request that both my senator and my governor call the USCIS to petition on my fiance and my behalf, but I am wondering when is the best time to do this. My case probably isn't being looked through yet.

Any advice would be much appreciated!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresOnline change of address...
Hi everyone,

I just moved to California from Vermont so I can finish my final semester of university. I just went online to file my change of address on the USCIS website, and one of the sections has me stumped. The form asks whether I am filing the case for myself or someone else, and I'm not sure of the answer! Am I filing my case for my fiance or for myself?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures60 days of Administrative Processing since interview, still no response

We had our interview on April 17th, and the woman interviewing my fiancé told him to come back in 2 days to pick up his visa. The very next day, he got a call that our case was actually going through additional administrative processing and that we would just have to wait.

On monday 60 days will have passed since our interview, and the travel.state.gov website says that we may now make inquiries about the status of our visa... but is there anything else we can do? Is there ANY action I can take?

Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresProcessing Time for I-290B
Hi Wander,

I sent you an email response to this also, however wanted to post it here as well should it help someone else, or rather answer other questions. I have spent s significant amount of time doing research on the I-290B form since posting this and there is very little in the way of help from the 800 number they provide to you. They will tell you only that the wait time is long, they will give you no answers specific to your case and they will not be pinned to an answer. I wrote to Senator Patrick Leahy of Vermont (my service center) regarding the manner in which this very personal matter is handled so indelicately, not that one letter regarding the handling of the K-1 visa or the Appeals I-290B form will make a difference but perhaps a few letters will, to all your Senators and representatives.

Just a thoguht. Good luck.

Candy

My fiance had filed I-290B in March and our case was sent to AAO on May 10, and until now there is no update yet:-(

I completed the additional requested information and sent it certified mail over one week ago and I still have not seen my info updated on the USCIS website, nor have I received a new receipt number.
