Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	Affidavit from in-laws	Hiya! It's been a LONG time since I've posted anything, but figured I have a question that the lovely member of VJ might be able to help me with. Currently working on ROC. Our window opened on 8/5, but we're dealing with a lot of family issues at the moment and I haven't been able to finish compiling and get it off in mail yet. Hoping by Monday, I'll be good to go. ANYWAYS... My husband and I still live at home with his parents, due to just not being able to afford to move out, and with my father in-law's various health issues, we need to be around. And currently, my father in-law is in the hospital. With my I-751, would it be wise to send an affidavit signed by my mother in-law stating that even though we do live at home, we aid with the care and general upkeep of the house and that we pay some bills as well? I have copies of the checks for said bills that we do pay and I suppose I could get copies of the actual bills as well. Any suggestions would be awesome. Yes, since you need two affidavits you could have your mother in law write one. See Evidence of Relationship, number 5. http://www.uscis.gov.../i-751instr.pdf Do you have health insurance, life insurance, joint bank accounts with 2 names on them? K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	My timeline VJ adjudicated date on timeline pushed back a full month	Any folks out there going through VSC see their "adjudicated date" here on VJ get moved back a full month? I check my adj. date from time to time and in the short time that I've been waiting I've seen it move 3 times now. The first two were a few days later and then some days earlier but today when I looked it showed a date of a full month later. In doing a search here I see that these dates can change due to fluctiations in reported processing times here, although I have not noticed this. Has anyone else seen this?... (VSC taking a bit more time... or VSC'ers timelines getting pushed back 30 days) (BTW... I am just curious.... not complaining.... I feel like I need to throw this disclaimer in as nearly everytime I see someone from the VSC ask a question they get someone who is unlucky enough to be dealing with the CSC telling them to not "rub it in") Alright trouble maker...! It fluctuates...it's based on VJ member's time-lines - and can change as people enter their times. I saw mine move a bunch of times before it finally seemed to settle between a couple of days... VSC may be clearing a few that may have taken longer than others who happen to be members here.. who really knows..but it does change...a month at a time seems a bit high..but what can you say? As quick as they are, that brief peak should settle down.. By the way - how you been? Hey guys! Except for the waiting I am doing good thank you. CRIS!!! I am just sooooooo elated! FYI, emails came at 20:00:09 -0400 (EDT) and I believe identical (I just read them a few minutes ago). And thank you for telling us all about how it went at the Embassy. I just got off the phone with my fiance and I read your post to her. Hopefully she'll have her interview sometime in July. She gets a bit nervous about the interview so it was good for her to hear how yours went and that the interviewer spent more time asking about your parents than about your relationship (not that that would be a problem, but it does show that it's a bit relaxed and not a grilling). K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	VSC to NVC to Frankfurt	We received our NOA2 on the 3rd (via email). I realize that once I have a case number from the NVC in New Hampshire I can then track (or attempt to track) it's progress at the NVC and enter the same number at the DHL site to check on it's transit to the embassy in Frankfurt. Question is do I have to wait till I recieve a letter from the NVC to get this new case number (starting with FRA) or can I find it some other way? Can I just call the NVC without the new case number, request to speak to a representative and get info that way(using our old case number from the VSC)? If this is the case, can anyone give me advise as to what time of day is the best to call the NVC? Thanks PS... My fiance arrived here late Thursday night for a visit. Although her second flight (from JFK to Burlington, VT) was canceled and her luggage was delayed a day the immigration process went just fine. I was a bit worried when I had not heard from her 3 hours after her flight landed but all went well. Infact while last time the immigration officer was a bit cold she said that this time he couldn't have been nicer. You can call NVC with your USCIS case number and beneficiary name. Once they have the case, they can give you the new FRA case number. You do not use that number to track a DHL package. You will never know which DHL package your case file was shipped in. A few days after NVC tells you they sent your case to France, you can begin calling DOS (department of State) for a status update. Your case will show as "loaded" first, meaning the electronic file is on hand. When they receive and actually handle your file, the case status will change to "open". Generally the P3 is forthcoming shortly at that point. Each time you call, be sure to ask if any name check is pending. Thank you so much for your reply to my post Pushbrk. Great information! It is so nice to see people helping people here in the forums. BTW, what is a "name check"? and what does it mean when a name check is pending? Also, I thought that I read in here that with your NVC case number if you wait until a few days until after they say they sent it (ie. when they sent it electronicaly) you can check with DHL. I see you say you can't do this. Did one used to be able to? No big deal, just curious. We are double lucky to have gone through VSC and now to be dealing with Frankfurt which I hear for the most part is fairly quick. However, I would give it at least 3 weeks before you get worried. First that I have heard anyone say this. My fiance is here now on a visit and she will return with all of the relevant forms and letter from me but because we decided origionaly to use the help of an attorney I don't have the original NAO2, just the copy that they USCS sent to me. Did you get any tracking info for it? i have been looking at previous threads, and looks like people are receiving their NOA's in the mail roughly 7-11 days (from VSC) with their actual NOA issue date being 2-4 days from being received. im hoping mine comes tomorrow, that will make it 10 days for me .... currently i see 4 people who sent in their ROC packets after you but have received their NOA. We have been waiting 17 and I'm in danger of loosing my new driving job without the green card extension letter. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Tracking progress through NVC to embassy	Hi Now we have the long awaited NOA 2 we are wondering how to track progress through NVC to the London embassy. Does the USCIS email alert system provide us with this information (as it did when it advised us of NOA2 approval or do we have to enquire by phone to NVC and then the US embassy in London? K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Filing in March	Hi folks Well my revised I -134 arrived by fedex last monday(6th), send it by Royal Mail( guaranteed next day delivery) that day and.... received my visa Friday, the day after my flight back to the states! Fortunately I got a last minute flight on Kuwait airways on Saturday for only $420, had three seats to myself so slept all the way across the pond, arrived home in Vermont on Sunday and got married on Tuesday. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Filing in March	Hi Guys Thanks for the comments. The CO admitted that the problem with the question 11 is a common one and that they have complained about the design of the form but to no avail. Federal beurocracy is glacial in pace as we all know. Karen has Fedexed a revised I134 at great cost that should be herein the UK today but as yet has not arrived. Thought I might try to deliver the revised document and passport to the Embassy myself (a 400 mile round trip) but does anyone know if they will accept hand delivered documents given how paranoid they are about 'Security'. My problem is that I am about 200 miles from the embassy but I could be in a hotel just around the corner if SMS would deliver the visa back to that hotel address rather than my 'home' address. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Filing in March	Hi well I had my embassy interview on 1st Oct and failed to get the visa! all was going well until we got to the I134 question 11 where we ticked the box to say that Karen would not be supporting me (there is no need, I have plenty of money) and that, apparently, is a big mistake. Should have said she wes even though she does not need to. So left the embassy and have to get a revised I134 from the states back to me in the UK,forward that to the embassy with my passport and hope that gets the visa and back to me before next wednesday night as I am scheduled to fly to JFK on thursday morning. Problem is I left the embassy without paying for the courier service (paid for the visa though)and not sure how to organise this as It is impossible to phone the embassy and they don't reply to emails apparently. I have just sent back packet 3 to London . Actually I sent it two weeks ago from Vermont,telling them that I was currently in Vt and asking them to send my interview date here but instead my dear old dad in the UK has received a letter for me in the UK. Hopefully this is my appointment at the UK embassy but I have a few frustrating days until the snail mail gets here ;-(. Does anyone have any idea how long the London embassy is taking to crank out appointments?? By the way I am sorry that I have not made my statistical contribution by updating our timeline but the system will not let me do so for some reason. We got our NOA2 on the 15th and I have been ringing the helpline at NVC twice daily since but when I enter the EAC number the automated system says they have no record of the case!! However we received a letter yesterday from NVC saying that they had received our petition were forwarding it to the London embassy 'within a week' so not quite sure what is going on there? I live so close to the vsc i thought it would get there in 1 day. I mailed it on april 24,08, and now it is may 5th. 12 days and no e mail, and no noa 1. and the check has not been cashed.
