United KingdomRecent interviewees - do you have your passport yet??

Interviewed 15th of August, issued on CEAC 16th of August, still waiting i've heard nothing. Seems like as usual they don't do anything in chronological order.

My interview was 12th August, and didnt show up as `Ready` for interview on the CEAC website on 16 August. So they were late updating! Then the status went to `Administrative Processing` on 19 August. Then it went to `Issued` on 20 August. And the Courier have only just received my package with my passport etc. in. They called me today to take the payment for delivey and they are delivering it tomorrow. The courier should have yours soon now. You may hear from them tomorrow or by Monday.

rascalcat - i think I'm having a similar issue! I got an email stating my passport is ready for courier and was given a tracking number and when I spoke to someone from the main DX hub, they told me I needed to arrange delivery with CSC(!!) and that I'd arranged to go at pick it up from a DX hub in South London, when I have paid (twice)( to have it delivered at home.

I am beyond stressed right now. They have given me the wrong number to contact someone at the embassy and I have no idea what to do now.

This is ridiculous.

** edit. Apparently it's now sitting at a hub in South London and I have to go and collect it. Even though I don't know where this is and I have to sort  home delivery issues out with the embassy because apparently the embassy told them where to deliver my passport to. Does anyone know how I can get in contact with the embassy?

Sounds like someone gave you the wrong info! Arrange delivery with DX by calling the main DX telephone number:  0844 371 0000. They have automated options, so if you have a tracking number you can enter it when asked. If you get nowhere with this number, call: 08712656666. I am sure this number is the DX department for London  Embassy deliveries.

They should be able to look for your package on their computer system. If you have already paid to have it delivered then you should not need to collect this yourself. Try that second number i gave you, as they seemed to know more about what was going on, if they need to check something they will call you right back too.

Did you pay over the phone or was it an online payment for the delivery?

The Embassy could have contacted DOS and sorted this out, as they need to receive the passport before they can forward it on to the courier. It shouldnt be the passport holder`s responsiblity to call DOS and make sure they send it to the Embassy. The Embassy should be dealing with this. What a mess and a confusion they are making! Why can they not do this?! they are both government departments. Awful lack of communication!

He told me that all they said was they didn't know where his passport was, and he told me he paid the courier fee, but I was confused about that because I thought the courier would contact him and then he would pay it. So I don't know why he paid the fee to the embassy. He was really annoyed and said nobody knew what to say to him and couldn't answer his questions. He's going to call back Friday if nothing happens. I'm just wondering why his status has been in administrative processing that long, why the courier never contacted him, and why he was asked to pay the fee directly to the embassy...strange.

That doesnt make sense that the embassy doesnt know where his passport is if it has not already been passed on to the courier (and they should know if they have forwarded it). If he has called the courier and they have nothing in his name to send out yet, then it couldnt have been given to the courier yet. As they can check on their system. It would have to be in the hands of the embassy.

Did he pay the courier fee online? As i know some people payed online before being interviewed.

It is strange that this had been in administrative processing for so long. I really dont like this new system they have with the courier. So far it has involved the courier and embassy having to call me several times to keep up do date on the situation. The embassy are also going to call me tomorrow as to whether they have received my documents back, ready to pass onto the courier. I think it is alot of messing around with this new courier set up, not efficient at all Must be costing them a lot of telephone calls.

The courier service they had before was more efficient, as you could pay at a desk at the embassy, and they gave a receipt. Also the delivery was faster and no messing around with telephone calls at all. And i really do not like giving my card details over the phone to the courier service. Would much rather have done the payment at the embassy like i did for my son`s passport and register of birth. I do not understand why they have changed the courier process, as it must be costing them more in telephone calls this way. Plus it makes more work out of a simple task!

Hey everybody. My fiancé had his interview in London on August 5th and never heard from anyone until he called the embassy yesterday. He said he paid his fee for delivery but on CEAC his status is still administrative processing and has been since August 6th, the day after his interview. I don't understand, if he paid for the fee for delivery shouldn't that mean his visa is ready to be delivered? Why is it still in administrative processing?

That is a long time! Did the embassy give him any update on the situation?

thanks so much rascalcat! smile.png we  may use that and I'll let you know...I have this odd feeling we will hear from them tomorrow..if not, we're trying these numbers. biggrin.png

I do have a question though - when you said they want to call you about delivery payment - did you not already pay on the new website? I think the money was already taken out of my fiance's account...was that not the case for you?

I didnt pay on the new website. Had no idea that option existed until i went to the interview. So the guy at the Embassy who interviewed me told me that I would receive a call from the courier to arrange payment of the delivery and delivery date.

I think maybe that second telephone number could be the actual number for the DX courier department that does all the deliveries for the London Embassy. So this is probably a good number to keep a hold of, as they should be able to tell you if they have your passport and documents ready to deliver. They will take your address and postcode and tracking number if you have one. (dont know if you have a tracking number when paying for the courier on the new website, as i didnt pay before the interview).

The woman at DX was very helpful over the telephone, and if they cant find anything in their system, then they are sure to help resolve the problem, as after i called to inquire, someone called me back the same day.. (even though i told them to call back the next day, as i was on my way to visit my sister in Wales) So they left a message for me to call them back regarding delivery payment and delivery. So it definitely moved things along.  I will also update you on what happens after i call them on that number tomorrow.

hopefully you will hear soon smile.png ours has said issued since last Wednesday and haven't heard anything yet...do you have the number you called for the Embassy courier handy? we may want to try that later..

I called the courier on: 0844 371 0000 (the automated service asks for a tracking number. i didnt have one so i just pressed any numbers and someone answered the phone).

The courier called again and left a message for me to call them back tomorrow about delivery payment and collection. But they told me to call them back on a different number, which was: 08712656666. So you might want to try this number if you get nowhere with the other telephone number. Hope this helps!

I phoned the Embassy today, and they couldnt give me any further info as to whether it had been sent out or not which was poor. I dont think the person i spoke with really knew what he was doing. I also spoke to the embassy courier again today and they havent received it yet from the Embassy. But said they should be able to call me tomorrow with an update.  I also just checked the  CEAC website and it says "issued" so any day now!

Mine still says Administrative Processing on the CEAC website, however i had a call that i missed, so they are going to call back on wednesday to pay over the phone for my visa delivery.. they told me i should recieve it on thursday. So you cant rely on what the CEAC update is, as they are late updating it. Mine didnt say "ready" until 4 days after i already had the interview! So im sure its behind a little to the actual progress to date.

I waited all day for them to call... went out shopping after 3:30pm, as i had to get a few things for my baby boy. Of course they called while i was out! So i phoned back the courier and they told me that they are going to call the embassy tomorrow, to get the embassy to call me back on Wednesday as i requested (i am out on Tuesday visiting my sister in Wales.. I might also call the embassy tomorrow before i leave for Wales. ) The woman from DX took my details and told me that they will call to arrange payment on Wednesday and they should be able to deliver the next day (Thursday). So i am really happy about that! So hopefully i should get my visa before the end of the week! Fingers crossed!

Just checked my CEAC status, and it was updated today from "Ready" to "Administrative Processing"

Has anyone been in this status recently? if so, how long did it take to change to "issued"?

United KingdomRecent interviewees - do you have your passport yet??

I had my interview on Monday 12 August. Not sure if i am just worrying too much, as its only been 4 business days since my interview (6 days including the weekend).

Maybe i will hear something tomorrow (Monday 19 August). There is no reason that the Embassy would need to do further checks on me, as i have no ties or family linked to any `red alert` countries. I am British born and so are all my family members. I took all the required documents to the interview "no trace" on my police clearance, so it was totally clean. I havent even ever had a parking ticket in my life!! The person who interviewed me said i was more than prepared and didnt even want to see half the evidence etc i brought with me! So there shouldnt really be any hold ups that i am aware of!

I know i have not missed a call from the courier, because i have the phone with me 24/7.. even in the bedroom/ bathroom!

I did go on the https://ceac.state.g...er/Status.aspx? last night and it still says my staus as being "Ready" ..status updated on the 16 August. However, my interview was on 12 August!

I hope this doesnt take weeks, as i have flights booked for Friday 6 September!!!

I am really worried about how long this visa production and courier phone call takes!! Really hope i hear something monday!!!

United Kingdomtime between approval on interview and receiving passports?

Interview took between 2-3 hours.. most of this time was just sat waiting around for my number to be called. The actual interview and paperwork only took 5 mins, and the interview was only 5 mins.

All they asked for was originals and 1 photo copy of each original document. They asked me for police clearance, birth certificate, fiance`s proof of employment (letter of employment or online work authorization.) plus his most recent (2012) W2s. I also had tax transcrips just incase. These were the only things i needed to photocopy. Gave them my passport (didnt need to photocopy my passport ID page). I was not sure if they would need my fiance`s original birth certificate.. but they never asked to see it, so that was ok.

I had my interview on Monday (yesterday)

I was only asked how we met, where we met, when we 1st met in person, what he does for work, does he rent or own, and how our relationship developed.. e.g.. how it progressed to us meeting and my visits to US etc. Just general chit chat really. Didnt feel like a test at all. Very relaxed.

United KingdomI'm so confused!!

You could call the embassy too, and ask if they have an interview date for you yet. Usually they are pretty quick at sending out the letter with the interview date on as soon as they have one for you (called packet 4). Sometimes you can find out slightly in advance by phoning them. They will probably give you some kind of time frame that you should expect to receive your interview appointment letter.
