My grandpa was 14lbs. Born in the 30's in Cuba to a woman who was 4'11 and 90lbs soaking wet.

OMG! Were you talking and eating solids already when you came out?

Two weeks overdue is a long time! How much did you weigh at birth?

 Pretty close, I did everything early. I had a few complications - my feet were pointed inward.

I was 8lbs 8oz, which is pretty big for a girl.

I just hope I don't have a baby like my husband. Two months premie and he was already 5lbs 6oz.

My gramma had three. Boy, girl, boy. She gained the most with the third one - 70lbs! She gained, I think 20lbs with my dad (the first).

My mom was HUGE when she was pregnant with me. I was 17 days late and she certainly looked like you could pop her with a needle. I literally ran out of room in the womb - it couldn't stretch anymore.

CanadaProving domicile when not living in the U.S.
Now that we got our interview, I wanted to follow up with what we have for proof of domicile and get your opinions.

We will have:

1) Two bank accounts open (one opened today).
2) Florida driver's license
3) Florida voter's registration
4) Amtrak train stubs, checked baggage tickets, and receipts of purchases on the train
5) Receipts of purchases here in Orlando
6) Copy of application to UCF (hopeful acceptance, but doubt will have it in time)
7) Copy of email sent to landlord with letter of our ending our tenancy as of April 30.
8) Letter to BC Med that will be faxed stating that I have left the province permanently.
9) Cell phone account newly opened
10) Lease agreement with Grandmother
11) Letter from my former employer stating that they laid me off due to my pending move

Does that sound good to you all?

The AOS technically isn't approved until the CO adjudicating your case in Montreal approves it to their standards. NVC simply ensures that you have the form completed correctly with all accompanying documents and to be sure that you meet the guidelines per NVC's standards.

I'm not trying to be smart here, but how do you know it has to do with the economy? Did they tell you that?

My husband hasn't been interviewed yet, but based on some other posts here on VJ concerning the I864 requirements and what the interviewee was told - it's all economy based. DHS and DOS are being picky because of the situation here in the US.

They are being particular about the domicile requirements because of the economy, plain and simple.

While it sucks to leave your husband, you are going to have to do it. I did it, I hate it, and have cried every night since I left Friday, but I want my husband in the US, so I will do what is necessary to get him here.

Hi ladies. smile.gif

I use Desogen/Marvelon. I've been on it for 4 years now and have never had a single problem with it. No weight gain, no headaches, nothing. This is totally TMI, but my periods are only 2.5 days now and rarely ever heavy! No cramps or anything like that, either. I get them late Tuesday, done by Friday.

I did try another pill at one time, but it gave me awful mood swings, messed up my cycle, and made me feel really strange.

could be you're right.

but just so, it would be nice to know why it is being requested.

FreeJ...since there's no help for it, you should just fill out the I-864a since the consulate has requested it, and perhaps you can ask the why when you turn in said form.

I've read elsewhere about NVC requesting information from the other spouse when a joint return is sent in. Who knows though, they seem to want one thing from one person, and another from someone else.

As Minya said, FJ, I'd just have the wife fill out the information and send it in. Sometimes you've just got to pick your battles.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresNeed ITIN for wife even though "Married, filing separately"?

QUOTE (shogimatt @ Aug 19 2009, 12:36 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I'm just now filing my taxes, and I was stuck in TurboTax when it asks for my wife's SSN. She of course doesn't have an SSN because our I-130 is still pending approval.

I did some research and discovered the W-7 form for getting an ITIN. It was my impression that we needed an ITIN for my wife even if we are filing separately, but the following text appears on the W-7:

e. Spouse of a U.S. citizen/resident alien. This category includes:

?A nonresident alien husband or wife who is not filing a U.S. tax
return (including a joint return) and who is not eligible to obtain an
SSN but who, as a spouse, is claimed as an exemption, and

?A nonresident alien electing to file a U.S. tax return jointly with a
spouse who is a U.S. citizen or resident alien.

I'm not interested in claiming her as an exemption (although TurboTax might have done this for me automatically). I'm more interested in avoiding another long (10 weeks?) stage of paperwork just to get this number. According to the wording on this document, it seems that the W-7 does not apply to spouses who are not claimed as exemptions and are filing separately.

Does anyone have experience with this?

Thank you, as always, for your help!
Matt

Call up IRS tax hotline. They have some experts there that are quite helpful. BTW getting a W7 took only 4 weeks for us. Only catch is get your spouse's passport copy notarized by a US notary or the US consulate in a foreign country. They wouldn't accept any other kinds of notarization for us.

It can be notarized by a notary that is approved by the US if they are in a country that is a part of the Hague Convention - whereas India is not.

My stupid RFE was:
(1) Co-sponsor's household is 2. NVC claims it should be 3 because of co-sponsor being married.
(2) NVC says my country of domicile was not listed.

What I learned:
(1) To highlight part in cover letter and on AOS package that co-sponsor's husband is deceased. headbonk.gif
(2) To bold every answer.

You can get the cash and get a money order from the post office I think, or any bank but they will charge you a fee

Yeah, we did a money order from our bank for the I130. Was hoping to avoid it because of the stupid fee. tongue.gif

Yes, I know that. I was implying that I-485 would ONLY be used in the *total* K3 process which involves AOS after moving to the US.

Sorry - Malrothien is incorrect. The I-485 is completed when the beneficiary is already legally in the US and wishes to adjust status. Since ilovemyhusband is already back in Canada, this form does not apply to her.

ilovemyhusband - your husband will complete the I-130 for you. Both you and him will complete the G-325 and have 4 copies for you and 4 for him, all with original signatures. You have the option of submitting the I-129F if you desire to complete the K-3 (which I suggest you don't do since it is an obsolete visa and twice as expensive as the Cr-1)

Good luck VJ is a great place to ask questions.
