They opened a new Keg in Burnaby that is terrible, actually. There is no ambiance, it's loud as hell, and the food is pretty blah. :\

Blah and it's new - so no hope there!

You know what I really hate (which has nothing to do with the Keg) - restaurant lighting where there is a bare bulb in the light fixture above the table, doesn't matter if it's Denny's or a upscale-ish restaurant - they think they are being hip and regardless it's a bare bulb - I always feel like they may interrogate me at any moment.

So that has nothing to do with dinner or the Keg. <wanders off>

What's even more sad was that there was a Keg there for a number of years, but they tore it down and moved it to just a few hundred feet further to the west so the new Costco could be built. The old Keg was good - loved the ambiance in the restaurant, was nice and darkish. sad.gif

That's why we didn't cook a turkey, TM. It was either utility turkeys or $50 ones. No thanks!

Tonight is sloppy joes - using ground pork and covering it with our homemade bbq sauce. Going to make some biscuits to go with it.

Misty - what about making your own? Pillsbury has pizza dough and you can use spaghetti sauce and then top with whatever you like.

We're having home made nachos. We makes ours a little differently - brown up some ground beef and make it like taco meat. Then mix it up with some rice - we usually do Mexican rice but we'll be using yellow tonight. Spoon it on top of warmed tortilla chips, add salsa, cheese, and sour cream - done!

I had a digital timer one, loved that thing. I had cleaned the insert and put it on one of the back burners to dry. Hubby turned that burner on low on accident and the insert cracked straight in half. sad.gif

Dinner tonight is going to be Italian sausage taken out of the casing, cooked in garlic, red peppers, onions, and a bit of tomato paste served on rice.

Dessert is apple crisp.

Ah, it's called Sushi Garden, and is on Kingsway, across the street from Metrotown (more specifically, across the street from the Boston Pizza at Station Square). The place isn't much to look at on the inside, but it's ALWAYS very busy, and the food is incredibly tasty, large in portion and very low in cost.

Almost all of the clientele I ever see in there is Asian, which is always a good sign in an Asian restaurant...

I spend far too much time in that area, lol. Is it right next to the XXX store? laughing.gif

Hrm...that's a good question! I don't think I've noticed an XXX store right there. It's on the same block as the Cactus Club.

I know. There's an XXX shop right across Kingsway from Boston Pizza.

I think we're going to do pancakes and hashbrowns tonight. Hooray for both of us loving breakfast food for dinner! good.gif

We're going to do sushi one of these nights too, if we can figure out how to justify the expense... One thing I'm going to miss about where I currently live is the kick-#### cheap sushi place a few blocks away. It doesn't look like there are any relatively inexpensive sushi joints in the DC area. Boo.

Which sushi place would this be? We always like to try new sushi joints.

That concoction sound yummy Marilyn. I'd make that as well, but leave out the sugar. That's cute about your husband not liking chunky tomatoes. laughing.gif We had chicken noodle soup and a salad last night. Gene might be going out for supper before the game tonight, I don't know. I have some leftover chili in the fridge we could have, or soup again...but I'm running out of leftovers. laughing.gif Other than the chicken (rotisserie) that I buy at Costco, I've never bought other meat there. The other day when I was there, I bought two beef roasts, two pork roasts and some pork chops. I'm anxious to try a roast this weekend!

Costco has really good meat quality.
