It's weird why people using all caps doesn't sit right with me.
Maybe because it indicates a lazy person? Don't really know.

Using all lower case doesn't seem that bad tho.

maybe for you.. not all.. u r just O.A
why u know me?? and u say lazy??? like i said.. i have a prob with my keypod the 1st part..
is that hard to understand??

u r funny..

Haole wasn't saying you were lazy. Just was saying that "overall" it may mean it's someone who is lazy. NOT specifically YOU.

No one emails their DS230 unless they're doing Electronic Processing. wink.gif People email their DS3032 (Choice of Agent). biggrin.gif

Hey all,

I was looking through the forum but couldn’t find the information I am looking for. So here are my questions;

- DS 230 needs to be filed and signed by my wife in Pakistan; she will get the forms directly from NVC, right?

You can download it directly off the internet.

- Is it better that she send these forms or if she sends it to me and then I mail them to NVC?

You should mail them to NVC with all documents necessary.

- Question 14 asks for Spouse's name that will be my information, right? From couple of old samples I have found online it says "none".

Yes, you are her spouse.

- Are there any instructions or current samples I can use to file this out?

If I had any questions, I just used the sample on VJ.

- Question 30 is only asking for "city or town", so that means not a full address?

Correct.

- Question 31a & 31b should be none, right? As I am already here in US.

Thanks so much guys, appreciate the help...who needs a lawyer when you have VJ smile.gif

QUOTE (angel129 @ Aug 30 2009, 12:49 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hiya!

I have a few questions regarding the appropriate entries into some of the questions on form I-130. Can anyone help me?

I am American married for 4 1/2 years to my British husband. We live in England currently but are ready to move back to the USA.
I have an American son for which I have full custody (He was born in the USA.) My husband and I have a son together born in the UK with dual citizenship.

My questions:

Firstly, I have not filed my taxes in the USA for since 2004. Do I need to do this before we send in the paperwork? Will the US Embassy in London be questioning us on this?

Yes, it is a good idea to file your taxes, as it is actually a requirement for you to have filed them.

B2 And C2 Our address in the UK? Or the address where we intend to live in the USA?

Address where you currently live. There is a question that asks further in the application for where you intend to live.

How long can my husband stay out of the country on business at any stage of the process? He travels all over the world and will need to continue to do this.

I believe the maximum is 6 months.

Can we go to the USA whilst the paperwork is being processed? IE. at Christmas time to visit my family or if my husband has any work in the States

You can, but you must bring along proof of ties to the UK: ie: lease/mortgage, letter from employer stating the return date, etc.

Thank you for all your help in advance. We are only at the beginning stages and finding the process so daunting!

Donna, there is NOTHING to worry about. I have no income in the US since 2005. That's the entire point to the co-sponsor thing. Just tell your husband to write in the cover letter to NVC for your AOS package the reason why he has not worked. It is not uncommon AT ALL for a son/daughter to quit working to care after their parents.

You can no longer receive the IIN by asking the operators. If you've received the DS3032, you should have received the AOS fee bill, which includes the IIN.

Who does the NVC send the DS3032 to, beneficiary or petitionar?

Beneficiary.

Is there a way for petitioner to get the forms? My wife, the beneficary, is in Nepal and it can take several weeks/months to get the mail. I assume other people have come across this issue, especially if their beneficary lives in a country where the mail system is not that reliable. Thank you for any suggestions.

Call NVC and give them your email. That way, you get all the forms via email rather than snail mail.

so we already did the the DS-3032 by email as we read we could do this before the letter came from here emailing Choice of Agent.

Have you called NVC to give them your emails? If not, do this! They'll send all paperwork via email rather than snail mail. Also, request them to send the AOS fee bill by email as soon as possible.

CSC is much faster, Finny. smile.gif

But for how long if they have to pick the VSC slack. USCIS workers can only process so many cases, so if they add to the caseload, then all will suffer somewhat. On another thread I indicated I was torn on this: personally I want my case to process lightning fast, empathetically I want all of our cases to process as fast as possible.

Mark

Mark, I truly know what you mean. Some days I want to hide my timeline because it is dreadful that others have to wait so long.

Hopefully USCIS will hire more workers for both VSC and CSC to help adjucate some of the backlog.

Here is some info regard the issue.
VSC Transfers to CSC : I-130s and I-539s
©MurthyDotCom
CSC confirmed that approximately 60,000 Immediate Relative (I-130) petitions were transferred from the VSC. Initial shipments took place at the end of 2008, with the final shipment of 20,000 petitions arriving at the end of January 2009. For the upcoming two months (February and March 2009), all new I-130 petitions will be directed from the USCIS lockbox to the CSC for adjudication. This initial two-month period may be extended.

http://www.murthy.co...s/n_csc109.html

But that would be outdated. We're in September now, and it does note that petitions sent to the USCIS lockbox would be sent to CSC. I know that when I sent mine, I sent it directly to VSC.

Yes, I understand that, but that doesn't really *mean* anything. As above, VJ only represents 10% of all visa applications. It could just mean that all petitions for August lived in states that the CSC services.
MalrothienFemaleCanada2009-09-03 21:07:00

I'm not sure how that would confirm why VJ has only CSC cases (by the way.. VJ only accounts for 10% of all visa applications).

Mine was processed by VSC, not CSC. That could just be a coincidence that the timelines are showing - might be because some have filled out their timeline's and others haven't.
