K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsApril and May Filers - NOA2 to NVC
QUOTE (ktjett @ Nov 2 2007, 09:27 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
So out of curiosity I checked our case status online & we received a touch yesterday... For those of you whose files were already transferred to NVC did you receive any touches to indicate it had been sent? I did call yesterday to see if our file had been mailed out, but the lady I talked to said it had "probably" been sent with the crate that went out Wednesday. I totally got the feeling she was just trying to get me off the phone.

Let's hope it went out. They never updated my approval on the website or sent me an email. I got the approval in the mail on 10/22 approved 10/18 and they finally updated everything yesterday on the website. I called on 10/31 just for the heck of it and she said it may still be in the staging area and they're all sent out in crates. Since they waitied that long to update my info on the website (touch) I thought maybe mine was finally in a crate on it's way. Who knows, I'm just hoping at this point, especially since others have been waiting longer than me, but the crate story seems to coming up a lot lately.

Let's just be positive and say they sent them all off smile.gif

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsJUNE FILERS WITH NOA2, PLS POST UR NOA2 DATE
I hate to be a bubble burster, but realistically with the processing they are doing right now with those that filed in early and mid May just starting to get their NOA2's, those that filed in mid/late June will be lucky if CSC gets caught up enough to send approvals by the end of October..however, we've got to remain hopeful! unsure.gif

Get a move on CSC!!

did any june filers get their NOA2 approved yet? I filed in august and very curious to know how the processing is going.

thanks,

Many May filers have not gotten their NOA2's yet. I sent mine in at the end of May & have a date of early June, so unless your SO is from Cuba, chances are you won't be getting it for quite some time yet...but keep the faith...hopefully we'll all get them soon yes.gif

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportsanybody get police certi in japan?how?
I don't know about getting one from outside Japan, but my fiance just got his and had to wait to get packet 3 from the embassy and then go to his prefecture police headquarters to order it. He couldn't order it without showing packet 3 (or some form in it).

Good luck!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsDS-230 Q34
QUOTE (sunshinegirl0201 @ Dec 25 2007, 08:43 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Ya, that's exactly what I did. I asked some questions to this forum and US embassy, but no like asking them to fill this out. I asked what this sentence mean or words mean. That's about it. And I have no idea what their assistance mean. It confuses me so much.

Don't stress so much. When you get your NOA2 and the embassy sends out packet 3 to you (which has the updated DS-230 included in it), you will have some instructions in Japanese that should help you.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsVery Serious Question-Moving to US from the UK while NOA2 is in progress
I know being apart is difficult (I haven't seen my fiance since Nov 2006), but when I first joined VJ, there were a few posts from people who were denied entry and sent back home, so we decided not to chance it.

However, as Jeraly said, nothing ventured..nothing gained. If you're completely prepared for all of the questions and the possibility of being denied entry, it can't hurt to try. In my case, it would've been difficult financially to spend the money on plane tickets, just to turn around and go back without even seeing each other.

This has been a long and frustrating experience in some respects, but we will finally be together in 2 weeks. Although I finally know the date that we will be together and it's just a short time away, the days are going by very slowly!

I wish you the best in your decision...please keep us posted. I will continue to look for the posts from those with personal experiences in this area, too. smile.gif

Well, I used to have only one job when I moved back to the states with a local school district. I was running a federal grant program for the district and teaching in the program as well, but the district ran out of matching dollars and ended the program early and there were no teaching postions open...so, here I am. Working 3 jobs (out of the education field) to make up for the one I lost. Just keeping my head above water while waiting for another postion to come open. wacko.gif

There aren't too many open teaching positions here either. I have friends that are teachers working out of there field as well. Here though there are many jobs available that pay more then teaching. I think teachers should be paid better. I can respect keeping up with bills. If I were to loose my job I would be in the same position as you. My job would be hard to match. God bless I know things will turn around for you.

Thanks Tim, I know they'll turn around sooner or later, but around here there aren't too many jobs..period. So I took what I could and keep doing what I can. The part-time job that starts before the crack of dawn, was supposed to replace the other part-time job (higher pay), but I love the people I work with and have a hard time leaving, although they know it's coming when my fiance gets here.

That is great, STP and sorry about the crappy one Tim! I have 3 very different ones that I like, but the hours are killing me. I work one full-time M-F, then one part-time F-M (3:30am-9am) and another part-time that's now down to 15 hrs a week, mostly on the weekends (was 25 hrs a week until Dec.) my fiance has been calling for ages, trying to change my address, and every time he got through people would say they didn't have the file
but today he was able to change the address biggrin.gif

however, he didn't get a new case number... I'm right in thinking the old WAC case number is CSC-specific, and now redundant, yes?
if so, how do we get the number? does he have to call again? or should I just wait to get Packet 3?

NVC will assign a new case number and if they have your case you can get the new number if you call.

Great news from the Lone Star State -- check the timeline ... we're locked in for a 1/31 interview at the Embassy! biggrin.gif Plane tickets are all booked (and thankfully we were able to use miles!) and we're heading down the home stretch. Had a wonderful engagement ceremony at her home earlier this month and we've set April 19 as THE date. We're both still very guarded about the transition -- praying that the cultural differences aren't overwhelming and that she loves it here. Cautiously optimistic is probably the best way to put it.

I've got a GREAT feeling that 2008 will be a Happy New Year! Best of luck to all!

HI Everyone....Just wanted to add my experiences on this thread...

Everything depends on your Service ceter and your NVC. NVC sent my papers to the embassy the next day after they received them. We already got our Packet 3 cuz Cairo sent it out the same day they received our papers. I was shocked but it is true. So even with the EID Feast we received our Packet 3 within 5 days. Now we have completed Packet 3 and mailed it back yesterday. Cairo embassy received it today. I had emailed them a question about the new fees and instead of answering my question they said they have received our Packet 3 and will notify my fiancee of the interview date within 10 days.

Congratulations!! Yes, you're right, it all depends on which service center, although NVC is the same for everyone. You were lucky to have VSC as they send the papers out quickly whereas CSC waits to fill up a crate to send to NVC (about 3-5 weeks). Congrats again on your speedy process good.gif

It doesn't...it only takes forever from CSC because they wait till they fill a crate to send them out. NVC may have it, but since yours was just approved last Thursday, give them a little time to receive it. It was probably mailed out to NVC on Friday, but all federal agencies were closed on 12/24 (only open for essential personal and NVC is not essential) & 12/25. They may have it logged in by tonight or tomorrow. Be glad yours was at VSC and not CSC, otherwise you'd be waiting 3-5 weeks for them to even receive it smile.gif

THanks for the info....
NVC should be essential...these visas are essential to alot of us!

I feel the same way, but as a gov't employee who IS essential, I don't get those same days off...must be nice.

Called NVC just now, usual response 2-4 weeks..now I'm on hold with DOS. If nvc is in new hampshire, why does it need to take 2-4 weeks for them to receive from Vermont? arrrgh mad.gif
