Well well...that could as well mean that we are sitting in the same crate with you afterall smile.gif And nope we still haven´t called CSC if our petition left their grounds tongue.gif Don´t give up u2rsobad. I believe your petition is sitting somewhere there. This week has only been a bit slow everywhere good.gif You get in their system sooooon kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif

No offense Marta, but I hope it was sent out before. It's hard enough being told 3 times by CSC that it was sent out and seeing everyone else get news that theirs was already received and that some are now leaving NVC. I expected 2 or 3 weeks with the way CSC has been doing business lately, but when people who are approved 3 weeks after you already have cases leaving NVC, it's a bit depressing. Hopefully you and everyone else approved recently won't have this same torment and they get their act together. It's bad enough when it happens waiting for your NOA2, because each officer finishes things at a different speed, but just to send it out...more than a bit frustrating.

Thanks for the support and I won't give up. I haven't seen him in a year and this silly delay isn't helping matters.

Sorry..hope you're all having a good day and come on CSC & VSC!! We need more approvals here...have many friends waiting for good news!! good.gif

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsJune and July Filers - NOA2 to NVC
Just got off the phone with NVC and even though CSC says mine was sent out on 11/6 (I've called CSC 3 times now and get the same answer) and others sent out on the same date have been received by NVC already, mine is MIA...no where in sight. They have no record of it. It has been 4 weeks today since my approval...I'm really getting tired of all this waiting crying.gif crying.gif crying.gif

Congrats!! At least you didn't have to wait as long as most of the rest of us did to get it sent out!

But, did you call CSC to see if it was even sent out yet? If not, try calling them first Marta. You can't go by what it says on the actual NOA2. I got my NOA2 on 10/18 and it was just sent out last week on 11/6. Good luck and keep us posted smile.gif

If I wasn't so much in love this waiting wouldn't be so bad - but I am so it is sad.gif I've read elsewhere that CIS holds approved NOA2s until they have a box or crate full. Well if this is true mine must have just missed the box. I've seen others here whose NOA2 is dated just a few days before mine and the NVC received it only a week later. Our NOA2 is dated 10/26 and I'm still waiting. Very frustrating! crying.gif One would think they would rather have a steady flow of these things coming to the NVC instead of having a huge pile dumped one a month! Oh well, what can I do but try and be patient.

I've read that they sent out 2 crates last week so it's a good sign to come. Try contacting them to see if maybe yours got shipped out last week. Most of us who were approved in September waited at least 5 weeks before NVC received our cases. Hang in there. good.gif

I just got off the phone with the USCIS office. They tell me they have no way of knowing if my petition has actually left their office. They could only tell me that it might take as much as 90 days for the NVC to receive it!!! crying.gif

AndyM, I was approved on 10/18 and it's not been received yet (as of 11/9), but was told twice it was shipped out on 11/6. Those that were approved the day before me already have their cases at the embassies. Hopefully they send them from NVC to the embassies this week for those of us who had to wait till the 6th for the next crate to leave CSC.

I'm usually a pretty patient person, but this is driving me nuts! wacko.gif How were you able to get them to tell you a specific date it was shipped? All I can get is the usual canned response of "as much as 90 days." If the statistics that you show here hold true I think we'll be in pretty good shape. I sure wish I could get more specific answers out of them though.

Thanks for your input!
Andy

Maybe just lucky?? But most of us that called last week got actual dates sent. Both times I got a person who told me my case had been sent out and the first person I spoke to told me the date and I asked the second person to verify the date sent. You're not alone..this process drives us all nuts! wacko.gif

You may be..did CSC say that they had already sent yours? The person I was originally responding to was approved the day before me, so maybe they were in the same batch. Have you or anyone approved near the same date as you been told by CSC that it left the "mail room?" Let's hope they sent out all they had! good.gif

When I spoke with a customer service rep. at NVC regarding the expiration date of the NOA2, they told me that NVC would extend the date if it was close to expiring.

I was told the same thing by both NVC and CSC last week.

Yep, that's true..but they are taking longer to process NOA2's than CSC. There just doesn't seem to be much rhyme or reason to the whole process with the excessive waiting either for the NOA2 or waiting to be shipped.

So how can that happen? From the NOA2 hardcopy I read that USCIS completed all their actions and sent the petition to NVC and that we should hear from NVC in 2 weeks or something like that...nothing ever says on NOA2 hardcopy, that the petitions keep sitting there waiting for crates to fill blink.gif

Yep..that's what my NOA2 says..they're done and it's been sent, but that's what's printed...not what's done any longer...now we have to wait for it to be sent. I called NVC at the two week point and they hadn't received it and was told to be patient that it can take several weeks for them to receive it. So you go from one wait to another

Ok, I really appreciate everyone's comments. I just reviewed our package, and I found a super serious mistake. I know this is insane. On G325, I typed wrong one. But, instead of typing 603-54-**** , i typed 604-53-**** On the real applicatiin, everything was right, but on G325, I typed wrong. I know this is sooo dumb. He said this is serious error, so he will call up today and let them know. If this is simple error like date mistake, or missing alphabet, ya, i will let it go, but wrong SSN can be serious. but we still have no RFE anything. It has been almost 7 months. What do you think?

I wouldn't panic too much. Let him call to tell them about the error and see what they say. If anything, they may send you an RFE to correct it and that would be quick to fix. You fix it, send it back quickly and usually a short time later, if everything else is fine, you'll be approved. smile.gif

I would like to hear from those who are approved, but still onlin status is pending. Some people say they got NOA2, but their online status never changed. My fiance called three times, but we never got any touches and he even got infopass appt and talked to a representative, but no update. I wonder what it is going on.

Although some are congratulating you here, I think they misunderstood your situation. It appears from your timeline that you're still waiting for your NOA2. I would call CSC using the RFE trick and if the officer you speak with doesn't help, ask to speak to a supervisor. Your file is outside the normal processing times and they should give you a reason why. If the officer you speak to doesn't transfer you to a supervisor, call back and speak to a supervisor at USCIS. I got my NOA2 in Oct. in the mail with no update to the website and no email notification until later in Nov. If it's the case that you have gotten your NOA2 already, please update your timeline and don't worry about your online status..it doesn't matter...the only thing that matters is the hard copy in the mail of the NOA2. Good luck and let us know how it goes. good.gif

I just wanted to start a thread for people in my situation. Our NOA date is 12/4/2007 and are still waiting on our NOA2. It is being processed at the California office. I'm guessing that it'll be here sometime in April (about a 4 month wait) but I'm not sure. Anyone get their NOA2 yet?

Also, what exactly needs to be done once I get the NOA2? Thanks in advance for any help you give me!

I'm hoping that April will be your month. Check out the guides and other information in the guides tab - this will help a great deal. Also do a little reading from the US embassy website which may give you a listing of documents to prepare for the consular stage. The US citizen has pretty much done all they need to do - except for the very important I-134 - the foreign fiancee has a lot to do, however, and should probably get started now. The police reports can take the most time to get done, however, I think you have plenty of time.

Use the resources of the site - they are a great help in understanding this process. Good Luck!! good.gif

Unfortunately, there's nothing for your fiance to do at this time. A Japanese fiance can't order the police certificate or get the medical exam (fiance's can not go to their own doctor in Japan, they have to go to one on the list the embassy sends in packet 3) until the embassy sends out the information in packet 3 (after you receiving the NOA2 and the case is sent from CSC/VSC to NVC and then NVC to the embassy) But as stated above, read the guides and start preparing the I-134 so you'll have it ready when the time comes. Good luck! good.gif

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsK1interview question and chance of denial
QUOTE (Masha2008 @ Mar 30 2008, 03:37 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
now, I am preparing myself for the interview. I have some questions.

What kinds of questions are common? I know that most popular ones are like

when and where did you meet your fiance?
how long do you know him or her?

well, did you get any tricky questions? if couples meet online, is it a problematic?

I met my fiance at high school while I was an exchange student. It was back in 2000. So almost 7 and half years ago. and we went to the same college. actually my peer group members went to the college and suggested me to go to the same college, so I did not have to feel so lonely.
At that time, we decided to date seriously. After the exchange program, I went back Japan until I started college for 9 months, but he kept approaching me. I waited until I actually saw him face to face and spent some time. Soon after, I accepted him completely.

At the interview, a person at the embassy might ask me why we had been together so long and did not marry. do you think so?
I am thinking about bring my year book and prove that I was at the same high school with him. And also I will say I was a student and could not marry because my purpose was to get education. Not marry.

I sent you a personal message to answer the question you asked me, but in response to this post, you don't need to take your yearbook. My husband and I dated 12 1/2 years before we married. I lived in Japan for 15 years and then moved back to the states about 4 years ago. There is a larger than usual age difference between us, but that wasn't an issue for the interview. It wasn't a big deal. They asked him when I divorced my first husband and how we met and a few simple questions that I sent you in the personal message. They aren't there to trick you, just to verify your relationship. Don't worry, you'll be fine good.gif

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsJapan filers, Please help me about I-134
QUOTE (Masha2008 @ Apr 30 2008, 04:13 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hello. I am about to have an interview within 2 weeks. ahh I am freaking out. I just got a lot paper work from my fiance. He included a copy of his employment letter from his compant, his last year tax return (entire copy of turbotax), past a few months paystubs, bank statement which shows the date he opened the account, his current balance, past 90 days average and his w2. Ok, now I am confused.

1, Does latest tax return need to be notarized? No, only the I-134 needs to be notarized.

2, Is it ok to send just print out copies of tax return? Yes

3, Does the employment letter need to be original? His boss sent him with PDF file. Of course his boss's signature was there, but it is just a copy. ( the company's letter head was there). No

4, What is the purpose of sending a bank statement? His current balance has to have a lot? He gets paid every 2 weeks, and his balance said 850. He opened his bank account in 2004. and his average balance is not negative. Bank Statements show what kind of activity there is in his account (example: regular deposits/payments)

5, The last question is that what does "any other evidence adequate to establish financial ability to carry out his or her undetaking toward the applicant for what might be indefinite period of time"? So if he doesn't make enough based on the governments established poverty level, then what other proof does he have to show that you won't become a public charge (example: A co-sponsor) Look at this link and click on the download. It'll show you the information for poverty levels : http://www.uscis.gov...00045f3d6a1RCRD

I did not understand this. A supportor can use his or her fiancial fund or whatever, but if he or she sell them, there is no way he or she can support an applicant right? Same thing with employment. My fiance used his employment as supporting evidence. But, if he gets fired or quits his job, he will not be able to support me. Please make this part clear if you know. It's not based on a co-sponors funds, but like your fiance, the ability (income) to support you or you and your fiance. Don't worry about him getting fired. Things happen and lets hope it doesn't happen to you, but that's why they ask for a letter of employment..proof that he's an employee in good-standing

I hope this helps smile.gif

Thank you so much for your time.

Sara,
I fell so bad knowing you've been waiting all this time with still no approval. I havn't gone back to look at some of the old forums to see how everyone's doing. I was so mad last year when after we finally got our NOA2 in Oct, that they admitted they lost our paperwork...CSC claiming NVC lost it and NVC claiming they couldn't lose something that they never received from CSC..what a mess!

I agree with some other posters that you should contact the media. I used to have friends that worked at the Oregonian, so I'll contact them to see if there are any other avenues that you take. My brother knows someone who works as a reporter for one of the local tv stations. He's out of town until Tuesday, but I'll ask him if he can help.

Keep your spirits up..I know that's easier said than done, but your VJ family here really cares and will be dancing with you when you get that long awaited NOA2.

Keep me posted and take care!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportsno case updates
QUOTE (philabride @ Sep 25 2008, 04:41 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hi all

Our case has not been updated at all since they received it. NOA1 arrived but I don't see our case has been updated at all for 2 months. It looks like that everyone`s case has been touched time to time, but it is nothing unusual not to be touched at all as well, right?

I suppose this is what you mean by long wait?

Waiting is by far the most frustrating part of the process. It looks as though they are processing a bit faster than last year though. We filed on May 31, 2007 and the first touch we got was the day of our NOA2 approval on Oct 18th (140 days - nearly 5 months later!) and nothing again until the interview on Jan 28th (242 days - 8 months after filing). Unforutantely for us, the AOS process has been just as frustrating. What started out fairly well, died for some reason after we rec'd the AP and EAD. No RFE..nothing until last Friday when we finally got the interview letter (and still no website update as of today). I hope all moves along quickly for you. Just keep checking your mail box. good.gif

By the way, what became of the pancake-bunny? The link now brings up a blank page. This situation is dire.

Let's hope no one turned him into a bunny-cake...that would indeed be sad, but probably tasty to someone? Ohooo

Congrats to Karen & Daniel, May filers who received NOA2 yesterday. Give them a big "zomg it's about freaking time" round of applause!

Oh, and here's the note from their timeline: "Took more than 7 months for CSC to send us an RFE for missing to fill in a N.A. besides the None under Family Name of Husband/Wife in form G325A of beneficiary." :(

Glad you're approved now, things should start moving a lot faster for you now.

YEA!!!!!! A huge and hearty congratualtions!! Time for some happy dancing!
It's about time!! Now come on CSC..we still have a few other May filers waiting...let's get them done already!

Maybe the website is down?? After such a roll of approvals it seems odd that there wasnt a single one yesterday.........
Oh and a question-
does anyone know whether the passport style pics for the medical and the Interview have to be NEW ? Or can I use the ones submitted with the I 129F for the Medical? Or if I get pics taken now can I use them for the Medical as well as the Interview???
Nat

Well..having just logged on and not having read any following responses, you would need new photos, at least that's what's required in Japan and what I've seen by posters from other countries. The Tokyo embassy even has a photo booth there since the size pics required are very difficult to find in Japan.

And since my puter froze up here at work yesterday...congrat's good.gif to all of the new approvals from the day before yesterday on! I got one congrats in and boom...dead computer sad.gif

According to the lady I spoke with from USCIS- My application was approved today. However, there is no e-mail and the USCIS doesn't show anything yet. She said that I will see something soon.

Congratulations!! I never got an email..just got a touch on 10/17 (from a phone call), a touch on Thurs. 10/18 (date on the NOA2) and got the NOA2 in the mail on Mon. 10/22. They didn't update the website until 11/1, so don't worry about an email/update, just look in your mail box! smile.gif

And I thought training to be a teacher taught you all acronyms mad.gif

Doh! They're the worst for acronyms; NQT, GTC, NUT, PGCE, GTP, G&T, SEN, ESL...it's almost #######.

Well, I've been a teacher most of my adult life and now work 3 jobs including for TSA as a security screener (we check you, x-ray and check your bags if necessary) before you go to the gate for your flight. The gov't has more acronyms than any organization I know. I thought when my ex got out of the military, I would be finished dealing with a life full of acronyms...then I got the job with TSA this past June...here I go again wacko.gif

You have a point though, TBone, I have heard horrible things about TSA at other airports, but I promise you, if you come to PDX (Portland)- DE checkpoint between 4-9am (my shift) you'll find we're a bunch fun loving, kind and respectful officers smile.gif PDX got best US airport the last 2 years running, but we've had several passengers tell us how awful they are at other airports. Just don't lump me or my crew in with them smile.gif

Hahah smile.gif TBone - we all care about each other here so of course we are interested in how things are going! I must say I read the "bye" thing with a bit of a gulp but if that is a way that she normally signs off then it's a lovely e-mail. The fact that she called you by your nickname to me suggests that she is at least thinking fondly of you smile.gif

I was going to comment, but Jeraly pretty much took the words out of my mouth. So...same again from me. good.gif

Well, I trust you guys eminently, si man, so gratzies... er, gracias. Differing opinions, if any, are also solicited. And Mox, not to smear your repute, but should we beware of anything coming out of your mouth after that girlie-discussion of smears? It may be mixed with pute -- or, if an encore, with re-pute.

I now believe that CSC FLIs (front-line idiots) are those who washed out from employment with the TSA.

The DHL package to C. contained one semi-Machiavellian item: a color printout of a foto of her hand holding her newly purchased wedding ring in its velour box (we bought the rings early in Ecuador for reasons of quality and price, si man). I put a note on the printout saying, "I shouldn't have enclosed this, but it is truly beautiful... the ring and the box, too!" Ha! Do we have to hand it to me (ha), si man? smile.gif

Careful there TBone..I work part-time for TSA
