They eat traditional foods and play some traditional games, etc. But most everyone will enjoy hatsumode somewhere and most will find the highest point near their home usually for hatsuhinode. Whatever you do, enjoy! SHE ACTUALLY CALLED ME BACK about 10 minutes later (to inform me that yesterday (Monday) was the supervisor's day off). She said she would check on it first thing this morning and call me today (Tuesday). I told her I understood how much work is there but my goal was to just get our petition on the perverbial pallet to NVC this week! She totally understood. Keep your prayers for our petition to be moved to NVC this week gang. I cannot lose faith that Ramzis will have his interview in January. NVC received it last Friday and it's leaving NVC for Tokyo today and I got my new case number. I'm so excited!! What a rollercoaster of emotions over the last few weeks, I'm so glad this part is over! Thanks so much to all of my friends here at VJ for your support! Nothing to report, was approved on 10/18, NVC does not have it and spoke with a supervisor at CSC...they have no idea where our paperwork is So much for my NOA2! Just got off the phone with NVC and even though CSC says mine was sent out on 11/6 (I've called CSC 3 times now and get the same answer) and others sent out on the same date have been received by NVC already, mine is MIA...no where in sight. I called late last night and then kept trying today for better news, but no. I called CSC again this morning and they assured me it was sent out on the 6th. I told this to the lady at NVC when I finally got through, that tomorrow is 4 weeks from receiving my NOA2 and that people approved up to 3 weeks later than I, already have their NVC case numbers. After we completed packet 3 and requested the interview, they responded with a date about a week away. The official who interviewed her was very polite and didn't grill her in the least. At interview's conclusion he congratulated her and THAT evening the visa was delivered by courier. Will somebody please get these guys to share some 'best practices' with USCIS??? So we're all set. Plane ticket purchased today for arrival Thanksgiving (11/22). On to the next round of beauracracy with AOS, etc., etc. But I don't even care because we'll be together Best wishes for everyone else's Embassy experiences!!! Nov. 16, 2007 - Paperwork found & received by NVC! Jan. 7, 2008 - Finally got the interview date Jan. 28, 2008 - Interview!! Approved!!! Feb. 12, 2008 - Arrives in USA!!! Feb. 18, 2008 - Wedding Day!!!!!! Feb. 19, 2008 - Apply for SSN AOS Timeline: Mar. 12, 2008 - Packet mailed (AOS, EAD, & AP) Mar. 12, 2008 - Husband's SSN arrives Mar. 14, 2008 - AOS pkt was delivered at 7:52 AM & signed for by V BUSTAMANTE. Mar. 18, 2008 - Check cashed!! Mar. 21, 2008 - NOA's for AOS, EAD & I-131!! (Dated 3-18-08) Mar. 31, 2008 - Can finally see AP & EAD online!! Apr. 10, 2008 - Biometrics finished! Can finally see AOS online & EAD touch! May 12, 2008 - Email: AP approved!! May 14, 2008 - Email: EAD approved!! May 16, 2008 - EAD card & AP in hand!! Sept 19, 2008 - Interview letter - Oct. 24th - Seattle?? Oct. 21, 2008 - A Touch..WOW!! The interviewer must've put it on his/her desk! Oct. 24, 2008 - Interview..now back to waiting! I'm so excited I can't sit still!! We were originally hoping to be married 12/28, but with all this waiting, that didn't happen, so now we're looking to Feb!
