IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresSeptember filed, no NOA yet, concerned

I just viewed my scanned check that was cashed yesterday. I also received the emailed "USCIS Acceptance Confirmation" with Receipt number.
I can see clearly that the receipt number was NOT printed on the check

Good Luck!

See thats what has me concerned. My check was cashed on October 1. I should have received an "USCIS Acceptance Confirmation" at that time, but didn't.

Is there anything that starts with WAC or EAC? I tried to look back at my cashed check to see if it had the receipt number on there, but stupid Wells Fargo apparently deleted my account history when they took over Wachovia  .

No WAC or EAC letters at all. Lots of groups of numbers, which appear to be bank routing numbers...no 13 digit strings though.

OK, my check cleared on October 1. I got a scan of the back of the check, and there are lots of numbers, but nothing that looks like a case number. No 13 digit numbers.

I filed my I-130 in September (married in June), sent it to the Chicago lock box address. Got USPS mail return receipt
showing it had been signed for on September 26. I included the form for email/text messsage notification, and I have
heard zero from them. No mail NOA, nothing. What should I do?

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresOnly one fee generated?

good luck. This part of the NVC was the most frustrating for me. I sent multiple emails. It was not approved until after I got the email for sending in the DS-3032. I sent in an electronic version after that and got very quick approval. Some people had way better results.

I've told her to wait until we get the email for sending the DS-3032. No sense in wasted efforts.

I would have it sent from wife's email account.

OK, I've alerted her and sent her the example form, with all the
data she needs.

IV fee bill will be generated once COA has been accepted by NVC. So go ahead and email them the COA.

Doesn't that email have to come from my foreign wife, from her email account?
Or can I do it?

Got my NVC case number, and Invoice number. Went online to the payment site, and found only the AOS fee had been generated, not the IV fee. I paid the AOS fee $88. When can I expect the IV fee to be generated? Does it depend on their receiving the email DS-3032? first?. I am the U.S. Petitioner.

Oops this may be the wrong forum I should have put this in the sub-forum.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresEmbassy specific CR-1 visa question

Sounds as if you have everything figured out. Regardless of previous submission of documents always make sure to have copies of them in case they lose one. Also, make sure you have original/certified copies of any divorce decrees, birth certificates, your marriage license. One other point, either have your newest tax form and original w-2s/financial documents are at least the last 3 months pay stubs. My wife and I were asked for the previous 3 years' original w-2s. good luck.

Well, I'm in business for myself, so I submitted a financial statement, 3 years of income tax returns (long form) letters from 2 banks stating how much I deposited in 2010, etc. I think that is sufficient. But that is submitted now to the NVC. Will they want to see that all over again In Nairobi?

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresEmbassy specific CR-1 visa question
Things are going smoothly so far. I just mailed off my AOS and my spouses DS-230 and support documents to the NVC with barcode cover sheets, so shouldn't be too long before they complete the case and set an interview date.

However, I notice the U.S. Embassy/Consulate in Kenya has some new policies as of October 2010:

"From the 1st of October 2010, the Immigrant Visa Unit in Nairobi, Kenya has adjusted its visa application process. The unit will receive documents and interview applicants on two separate occasions and days.
On the initial appointment date which is scheduled by NVC, the unit will receive applicants? documents and advise them to return for the interview on the following day.
Appointment dates are restricted to Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday between 12.00 noon and 1.00 pm. Interviews will be conducted on the following day after document submission between 07.00am and 08.00am."

So it seems there is a 1 hour window for submitting documents, and a 1 hour window for arriving for interview.

Now, the question I basically have is this: Since the documents for a CR-1 visa, (the I-130 ORIGINAL SUBMISSION, + supporting material, the Affidavit of Support + supporting documents, the DS-230 1&2 + supporting documents are all submitted in the United States, I am trying to figure out what documents would be submitted at the embassy, and what I can figure out is the MEDICAL envelope of the completed medical exam and vaccinations, and the Beneficiaries Passport, and the "Excessive" proofs of ongoing relationship. Is this about right?

Of course I intend to seek an appointment to go with my foreign spouse to the interview, and my plan was to take copies of EVERYTHING from the original I-130 application on thru the "Excessive" documentation of ongoing relationship. I wonder if this means that I can't bring any documents to the interview as backup?

Any commentary would be appreciated.

Hey guys and gals, I have a question. For proof of having met I intend to send the following:

1. Copies of all airline boarding passes, passport stamps
2. 4 Color Photo's of me and my fiancee together.

For proof of ongoing relationship:
-MSN conversations
-E-Mails

Should this be enough to satisfy their requirements and avoid RFE? Thanks for any input,

-Andrew

Your proof of having met is fine. You do not need proof of ongoing relationship for the petition. You can send it if you want.

Bogota, like any other Latin American consulate, is not the relative cakewalk that Kiev apparently is. Front-loading with evidence of ongoing relationship can't be a bad thing.

I've done this once before (in 2002) and I am just about to do this again. I made sure I shot photos of me with my fiancee in front of "landmarks" in her country so they could be clearly identified as such. Signs such as "Welcome to Ndola" or such. I also had photos shot (with my camera) showing us together with members of her family. For the photos of us standing in front of signs and landmarks, sometimes I just propped the camera on the car, or in one case I hung it from its strap in a tree, and set the self-timer. It is better to have too much proof, rather than too little. You should also photocopy the page of your passport that shows entry and exit stamps from her country. I had many photos printed in her country, and left 1 set with her, for her interview.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresQuestion about G-325A and I-134 forms

Regarding your question on proof of relationship, it might benefit you to fill in a few details about your SO. Where is she from? At what consulate will her K-1 interview take place? Is there a significant age difference between the two of you? Are there any other issues that might raise red flags to USCIS or a consular officer? The time to start thinking about this issues is now, before you submit the I-129F. If you're going to be dealing with a difficult consulate, or if there are issues that would raise red flags regardless of the consulate, you need to think about how to address those issues—and should seriously consider doing so in your initial I-129F submission.

The consulate is in Nairobi, Kenya, and the age difference between us is this, I, the U.S. Citizen male am 58. and she the Foreign Fiancee is 34. My experience is that this age difference is quite common in African countries.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresQuestion about G-325A and I-134 forms
In the information on this website, it states make 4 (four) copies of G-325a Biographical data sheet for each person. But it only mentions providing one (1) photo. Does this one photo go behind the whole stack of 4 G-325a forms, or just behind the first one? Or should one submit 4 photos for each person?

I did this K-1 visa for my ex-wife many years ago. I can't remember exactly, but it seems I submitted the I-134 Affidavit of Support form with the initial K-1 package I mailed, as well as provided the same info to fiancee for her interview. The instructions on this forum state to only send the form (and support documents) to foreign Fiancee for her interview? Has this changed, or am I just forgetting?

Providing ongoing proof of relationship between K-1 application and interview. This is more difficult because we will be apart. Too far away to visit during the wait time. (cost). Emails and stuff. Would that be enough? What else is suggested if one cannot visit in person during the wait for NOA-2????

thanks in advance for any help.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresProvisional File?
Will embassys still open "provisional" files and distribute packet, if the U.S. Citizen sends them a fax of the NOA2 and a cover letter?

Specifically, the Embassy in Nairobi?

Thanks in advance for any info.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures4 Copies of the G325-A
QUOTE (Bobby_K1 @ Oct 26 2009, 02:49 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Why does the VJ guide say to submit 4 copies of the G325-A?

The instructions for the I-129F form to not make any such mention of including multiple copies so I am just wondering.

Also, the I-129F instructions say that the BIO information does not have to be repeated from the I-129F but the example G325-A form certainly repeats this information. I also think it is a good idea to repeat the BIO information within the G325-A, so I am just asking about this as well.

Somewhere else on this website, there was a director from the Vermont Service center that plainly stated in an interview that 2 copies are sufficient. They just throw the extra 2 copies away. Thats 2-copies per person. 2 for you, 2 for your fiancee.

When you had your medical, what were the size of the passport pictures you brought along with you? My doctor is asking for three standard size passport photos, but does this mean the normal Australian sized photos, or American sized photos? I have lots of recent Aus sized ones that I'd love to use instead of paying to get more done at the different size....Any help is appreciated!

You should use passport style photos shot to the USA standard.

Well as it says [if known], I assume it'll be alright to put just the year in, although the more information you can give for sure the better.
I don't know anything about Columbian record keeping (so forgive me if this is a totally ignorant question), is it possible she could find this out at a records office?

It is perfectly acceptable to put "unknown" for dates you just don't know regarding your ancestors.
