PiNk

I would get him to discuss his situation with his bosses, and say that it's affecting his job and ask them to write a letter on headed paper stating that lives will be affected if the case is not expedited and fast!!! .... due to unnecessary stress.

Get them to write that they want the case expedited under National Interest and an Emergency situation due to lives of Americans being affected as he works directly with the sick and injured and cannot afford to have his attention taken by other stress .... he also needs his wife with him for support so he can do his job properly.

Then send it via a Senator or Congressman .... it's worth a shot and you guys have nothing to lose!!

hmm,. yeah nice idea biggrin.gif ok ok i'll tell this to my husband later and i hope it will be approved biggrin.gif
thank you so much sarah smile.gif

hi ,

thanks for this info. I have a question in regards with the quoted statement above. Does that covers the ex-military? biggrin.gif lol! i know thats a silly question. My husband is an ex-military (he was in the military for 9yrs) and i am just looking on a way on how can are petition be faster lol!

PiNk

Not a silly question at all. Is he in the Reserves now? .... if he is in the Reserves, then yes.

If he is fully out, then no
..... if he is fully out, does he have a government job with a lot of responsability ?
In which case, he can try it with that ..... but always send a letter from the government boss etc on government headed paper stating the importance of removing the delay in this USCIS process is of National Interest.

* Department of Defense of National Interest Situation is an easy one as it covers Military Deployment immediately. All military must have no further stress added to their lives when being trained for deployment, being sent on deployment or are on deployment. They are who keep the US safe and cannot make mistakes due to unnessary stress.
If you do not have orders for deployment, or are not on deployment .... go to your Commander (the higher up the better) and explain the situation. This immigration thing is very stressful and I'm sure your CO will understand and help you by writing a strong letter requesting your case be expedited under this criteria. Make sure it has military headed paper.
I would suggest adding other criteria into the mix too and discussing them with your CO, as if he adds them to the letter it will back your case up more.

National Interest could also cover a multitude of government jobs .... if you work for the government stop and think about this one .... what would happen if you make mistakes on your job due to the stress of this process ??? What could be the outcome ??? ... especially if you're in the line of keeping the living alive.
Write them down and discuss it with your government boss .... get a strong letter drawn up on government headed paper requesting an expedite under this criteria. If you don't try, you won't know.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresBirth and Divorce certificate question
QUOTE (forgiven @ Apr 22 2008, 08:14 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I recently obtained certified copies of my birth certificate and a certified copy of my divorce decree from my first marriage from another state.

Yesterday I went to my local court house's register of deeds and obtained a divorce decree from my second marriage and the man asked if I wanted a certified copy or an exemplified copy. He said the certified copy is mainly good in the US but the exemplified copy is more recognized and is good in the US and all other countries so I paid extra and got the exemplified copy to be safe.

So my question is should I get "exemplified" additional copies of my birth certificate and my first divorce decree or do you think the certified copies will do for the fiance visa?

The only difference I see is that the exemplified copy has gold seals "and costs more" that look like stickers where as the certified copy is just am imprint from a devise that imprints the paper.

hi forgiven,

We are on a K3 visa. I went to my papers after i read your question about the exemplified copy. I didn't see any gold seals in my husband's birth certificate and divorce decree and we didn't get any problem in obtaining his Legal Capacity of Contract Marriage here in the USEM by using those papers plus those copies are the one that we submitted in applying for our visa.

I am not sure of what the guy in your local court house is telling you but i just wanna share you our experience that we didn't get any problems in using certified copy. I hope this thing helps. smile.gif

Good luck to us all!! biggrin.gif

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCan my fiancee get a passport while case is pending?
QUOTE (Phil&Liv @ May 4 2008, 03:20 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hi guys, im new here!

My fiancee recently got her passport in the Philippines. I was wondering if that will affect our petition because I hear things like she has to get it after being approved and there are strict guidelines that we must follow? Will that affect our case? Our case is still pending. Thanks!

Phil

No, it won't be a problem. I have friends who have passports a year before they apply for a visa and they are in the US now smile.gif

Good Luck!

Greetings All,

It's been a while since I last posted. I just wanted to say thanks for all your advice. I will meet my fiance probably in Manila or Cebu. It seems most agree GenSan is not safe...and especially since my fiance also tells me so.
Well I am at the very beginning stages of our marriage process. sad.gif I cannot file our K-1 until I get my final divorce decree(any day now) and when I visit her in the PI. I am glad that I found this forum as it will be a big help in understanding the process and I just want to make sure I have everything organized.

Chris

Thank you in advance helpsmilie.gif

Touched means that the USCIS is checking or reviewing your petition. Create an account in the USCIS WEBSITE and register your receipt number that can be found in your NOA1. If you see changes in your account that means your case have been touched.
Good Luck!
