Europe & Eurasia (except the UK and Russia)French/American Couples - Part II - 2011

Après vos mariages, lorsque vous constituerez le dossier d'Adjustment of Status (AOS), il y a un document à remplir qui vous permettera de voyager en attendant votre Green Card (I-131, Application for Travel Document, if you need to travel outside the United States while your application is processed).

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI 751 September 2012 Filers

Update:

Today, I received a letter from the Centennial office (Denver area) that my petition was approved on August 5, 2013. smile.png What a relief!

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI 751 September 2012 Filers

As I've been anxiously awaiting my approval letter, I got something I NEVER thought we would get: the dreaded RFE.

I am EXTREMELY frustrated with this as I spent so much time collecting this and I basically sent them everything I had:

Apt lease with both names

Our joint tax return transcripts

Car title with both names

Several bills in his name or my name with same address (all of our utilities will only put one name on the bill)

Bank statements from our two bank accounts - which apparently a couple statements scattered throughout our marriage isn't enough

They are asking for:

"Joint ownership of assets"

"Joint responsibility for liabilities"
"An active commingling of finances for the duration of the marriage"

I can get more bank statements and possibly his life insurance policy with me as the beneficiary, but does anyone have any other recommendations? We have no kids, no house, all our credit cards are individual... we're only 25 and I don't want to write a will yet! At this point I just want to interview to show them in person. I feel like it would be a lot less hassle.

Thanks as always for everyone's help. I would have never made it this far without yall!

Sorry to read that. Unfortunately, we are on the same boat... I thought we would be approved too, since everything went so smoothly. I thought we also had a pretty solid "file". However, we moved after filing the ROC and kept our old PO box (we don't get mail at home here in the ski towns) and got an other PO box in our new town... I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't like that..

It's so frustrating that we have to prove we are a real couple after 7 years of relationship.

We received a RFE yesterday, it's dated from 04/18. They want our identity documents and some Evidence of Good Faith Marriage... After 7 years being together, it feels very awkward that the USCIS has a doubt in our couple. I thought we had strongs evidences in our file. I wonder if it's because we moved after we filed the ROC. Or it might be also because we don't get mail at home but in PO boxes here in the mountains, so some invoices show the physical, but others show the mailing address. Anyway, we will do our best to collect as much evidences as possible.

I checked my status online it says: "On September 17, 2012, we received this CRI89 PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS OF PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS RECEIVED". However, my NOA1 date is September 21, 2013. Let's wait and see.

I had my interview yesterday in Paris. One of the ladies told me if everything goes well I should receive my visa in about 8 days. No evidence of relationship were asked for. At the last booth, the lady congratulated me before saying good bye. I hope it's a good sign.

Hello everyone!

My fiancé lives in Vail,CO. Only a few people can receive the regular mail at their home. That's why he has a PO box.

Is it okay to mention the mailing address instead of the physical address on the I-129F?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNOA2 received a month earlier than expected...
It's not a military expedited one for us. When I checked the timeline the estimation for the approval was between April 17th and April 27th. Good luck to everyone. :star:

Yeah, I been following that one too. So far, most of the early approvals have been military expedites. I think this is a non expedited one (but possibly is ??),

Congratulations everyone!

My fiancé received a text message today: "On February 23, 2010, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)."

I was not expecting for a quick NOA-2, so it was a very nice surprise. We also got approved less than two months (35 days!).

Sorry for leaving you hanging with no details of my visit.
My stay was wonderful! For my fiancé's birthday, we went to a nice restaurant nestled in a mountain meadow at the base of Larkspur Bowl, in Beaver Creek, CO. It was fantastic. To get to the restaurant, we had to ride a snowcat. It was fun. I went to my first baseball game in Denver. The Rockies won! I went snowboarding in Vail. The weather was gorgeous. My whole stay was a blast. I can't wait to move with my fiancé for good.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresYes, you can visit!
Here my story:

I booked my tickets about a month after receiving the NOA1 notice. I wanted to visit my fiancé for his birthday, which was a month later.
We were at the beginning of the K1 process, I thought it would be a long journey compared to the statistics. Three days after booking my tickets, my fiancé called me and said we got the NOA2. We have been approved in 35 days only.
I was wondering if it was a good idea to go visit him while we were so close to the end of the process. I didn't take any insurance in case of cancellation, so I decided to go to see him in Colorado anyway.

During my layover in Cincinnati, I was asked the usual questions. When I told the officer I was unemployed. He asked me for evidence for my return to France.I showed him my reservation with the flight back to France, but it was not enough for him. Then, I told the officer that my fiancé and I are in the K-1 visa process. I took out a copy of the I-129F cover letter signed by my fiancé. He said it's very good to want to get married in the rules. He congratulated me and wished me a good stay. He didn't even look at the copy of NOA1 and NOA2. I was so relieved.
