K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNOA2+Case Number..Sent to Manila...Now What?
Once you obtain your manila case #, you don't make an appointment for SLEC to do your medical. you can just walk in. You can however fill out the registration online for SLEC. It will save you about 30 minutes because they will make you fill it out when you get there. I heard mid week is best time for medical.

You can pay the visa fee through BPI once you have manila case #. Wait til the next day and schedule your interview online. You do not have to wait for the eligibility letter. Otherwise, you will be waiting for awhile. The email you receive from NVC w/ your manila case # is fine. When you are scheduling online, you'll need manila case #, passport info, and the receipt # from BPI.

Get your fiance to do her NBI clearance now. But, if she is in manila, she can go the the NBI outlet branches at the SM mall and she'll have it the same day if no hits on her name. See links below!

You'll need to gather your supporting documents to prove on going relationship, the affidavit of support or I-134, tax transcripts for 08, 09, 10, letter of employment, pay stubs, updated letter of intent to marry. Send it to her once you have all of it. Better yet, go there and hand carry the documents and be with her at the interview.

Fill it in the best way you can. The USCIS will understand that addresses abroad are vastly different that US.

Start here with the guide for K-1:
http://www.visajourn...content/k1guide

Use the example forms as a guide when filling up your paper work: http://www.visajourn...ontent/examples

It is a lot of information, so read for a good couple of days. If you and your fiance's situation is not complicated
it is not that difficult to follow the instructions. You will be glad you found this site as it will become your lifeline.

If there is ever a time to become ####### about something, this is it. Double check and triple check everything. Also,
this will require a lot of patience.

Search button on the upper right hand corner. Use it! Questions you will come up with has already been asked
a thousand times over. When you get stuck, post your question on the K-1 forum. If it is specifically about the
process in Japan, post it in the Japan regional forum.

You have 11 months prior to your scheduled wedding. If you start now, you should have no problem. K-1 averages
about 7-9 months. We got lucky as we were with California Service Center. By the time my fiance gets to California
on Sept 2, it will be a total of 5 months.

Good luck on your journey!

Don't wait for the USEM to receive your packet. If it was received 2 days ago by the NVC, chances are they shipped it already. It takes about
5 business days for DHL to deliver the package to USEM.

Don't wait for the packet 3 either. You will be wating for awhile for it.

Pay the visa fee 1st @ BPI. They will give you a receipt for it. Wait a day then schedule the interview appointment online. You will need passport
info, manila case#, and BPI receipt # to do this.

Once you're interview is set, register @ SLEC for your medical. Make sure you register online as it will save you about an hour because if you
don't register online and they will make you fill up the registration. No need for an appointment @ SLEC as it is on a wlakin basis.

I just got my approval text and email. My NOA1 date was 5/13/2011. My girl is at work now, but she will get a big suprise when she checks her text messages :)

I hope you didn't buy your tickets yet. The embassy has an uncanny way of messing up your plans. Two weeks to get her visa in hand after the interview is asking for trouble.

Nope, but I did get her ticket reserved. We're picking up the visa on 2Go outlet (USEM authorized carrier) at the Mall of Asia. There have been
multiple visa approvals who went this route and picked up their visas within 4-5 days. Obviously this is specific to the USEM. I am not sure
how the process is in Micronesia. I do accept the fact that I am taking a calculated risk.

Here is a recent thread discussing your question: http://www.visajourn...ed-your-fiance/

I met Patty May 2010, visited her for 3 weeks Oct 2010 and we are now at the interview stage on Aug 16. I will am flying out Aug 14 to be with her at
the interview and bring her back home to SFO Sept 2. As long as you have you ducks in a row so to speak, you shouldn't have an issue.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAfter NOA2- How much longer do we wait?
Our interview is Aug 16. I arrived Aug 14 to be with her. Scheduled to fly back Sep 2. The plan is to pick up the visa at the 2Go outlet at the Mall of Asia.
We've read on a couple of members here that designated visa pick up at MOA and they had visa in hand after 4-5 days. So, yes it is possible and it also
depends on how long will you be there. I do not know about picking up the visa directly from the embassy. I suppose it doesn't hurt if you ask. I do know
that I am taking a calculated risk with the time frame. I will update in the next week or so!

Good day to all! I'm trying to schedule my interview thru online appointment but its not working. what should i put in the receipt number? I tried everything that's in the receipt but still not working i also put my passport number but it didnt work either. Is this online scheduling is working? Or should I just call US embassy? thanks much for your help! god bless us

I waited a day after paying the visa fee. The receipt # was only 3 digits and it worked for me. If it still doesn't work after a day, then by all means call the USEM.

I could be wrong here, but from what I've read on this site before, the US Embassy in Manila must have received your approved application package from NVC. Then, USEM must upload your application in their system before you can establish an appointment for interview. Give the USEM a call and ask if they've received and uploaded your application package. If they have, you can also ask them to make an appointment for you. Good luck!

Did you include a certified true copy (copy from courthouse w/ seal) of your divorce decree when you filed the I-129F? If you did, then I think

So, where should i call about this? the USEM or the USCIS? The I-797C NOA paper that is expiring is from the USCIS. so you guys have an idea? thanks again! as for now the petition is sitting in the USEM.

If I were you, I would make contact with the USEM through email letting them know that the petitioner & beneficiary still has full intention
of obtaining the visa. Include manila case #, petitioner name and date of birth, beneficiary name and date of birth on the email you send to
USEM. I would actually make the manila case # the subject of your email.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresUSCIS and NVC what is going on?? Help

Thank you to everyone who has replied to help me.. Thank you so much!!! But still NVC and USCIS are clueless about my Approved K-1 Visa Package. USCIS said they have approved the I129-F and sent off to NVC but it could take up to 90 days!!!! before NVC receives my package.

NVC said they do not have my case on record and did not receive the package from USCIS. They ask me every time to read whats on the NOA2. They then say well we don't have it and it has just been approved (July 8th 2011) so i need to wait. It could take up to 90 days to process.

Please, is anybody else going through this and what steps did you take while waiting for USCIS and NVC process this package.

Its just mentally discourage to read of so many other receiving there case numbers in days while 30 DAYS!! has past since being approved and nothing but shucking a jiving from NVC and USCIS..

More advise and help is always appreciated.

Thank You VJ Members

I hear your frustration! That is SOP from USCIS and NVC. There is no rhyme or reason why some get it faster than others. The only advise I can give you
is more patience. You will get there like everyone else. If it makes you feel any better, once, you have the case #, you can literally do the process as fast
as you want to. We got our case # on Jul 27, paid the visa fee Jul 28, scheduled an interview appointment online Jul 29 for Aug 16, Patty did her medical
Aug 1. I will be leaving Aug 14 to be with her on the interview and bring her back to SFO with me Sep 2. Hang in there! Your turn is coming!

There has been a delay of assigning case #'s at NVC, especially for approved petitions coming from CSC. They are averaging 30 days. Just keep calling them everyday for your case #. Ours took 33 days. Be patient, you get it soonest!

Contrary to what you've been told, all approved petitions goes through NVC as NVC is the entity that assigns the case #.

Start here and compare between K-1 Fiance Visa and CR-1 Spousal Visa: http://www.visajourn...content/compare
Figure out which one is best for you and go from there. Both of you need to read the guides here as they are extremely
helpful. When you get stuck, post your questions here as there are plenty of VJ members who are more than willing to
help. Your GF is very young. Another thing she must be able to do is support you. Does she have a job? How much does
she make a year? See the link on the bottom of my information for poverty guideline and look at that. If she can't meet the
poverty guideline, you'll need a co-sponsor. This is allowed on a case-by-case basis by the USEM in the Philippines.
All the other links are useful links we used 3 months ago.

Very important for your GF when she comes to visit is entry/exit stamp on her passport, boarding passes, hotel receipts,
pictures of you together of the places you've visited.

Read the GUIDES here and then read them some more. When filling out forms, double check and triple check prior to sending
them out.

This can be an overwhelming process and will require tons of patience. I hope you both are ready for the potential long wait.

Good luck!

Although there is no time frame set for filing AOS, it is advisable to file as soon as you can. Preferably before the medical exam you had
from St. Luke's expries. Otherwise, you will have to get medical done all over again. Typically, your medical from St. Luke's expires in 1 year.
I agree that you should apply for SSN now prior to getting married and then apply to get your name changed at your local SSA office after you
get married. FYI, you do not need an SSN to file for your AOS.

Which is better to send or file your petitions? Send it to Service Centers or to the Lockbox? What is better, do it yourself or get a travel agency and let them do the visa application

This is really entirely up to you and your husband. If you both don't mind putting all the information together and have a lot of patience, get started by reading the guides here.

If you decide to do this yourselves, take a good few days or a week to read the guides and samples for the forms you will be filing. If and when you're ready to put everything together and you get stuck, post on VJ for help and guidance. Plenty of people here have gone through the process you're about to go through and are more than willing to help.

http://www.visajourn...tent/i130guide1

On the other hand, if you do not feel comfortable doing this yourselves, look for a reputable visa processing agency.

Though I filed for a K-1 visa, I don't think there is a huge difference. My fiance and I worked together to put everything by ourselves. With the help of this site, we sent the application April 1 and were approved June 24. So, you can definitely do this on your own. But, again, it is really up to you and your confidence level.

Good Luck!

My wife if preparing for her interview in manila philippines.. we are both a little confused on part of it tho... the agency she is useing is telling her to get a CENOMAR..."CERT OF NO MARRIAGE". THE PREPARING FOR THE INTERVEIW DOC'S FROM THE EMBASSY STATES

"CERTIFICATE OF NO MARRIAGE RECORD (CENOMAR). If you have never been married, a CENOMAR (Singleness) issued by the National Statistics Office (NSO) and printed on NSO security paper should be submitted. You may call the NSO Information Center at (632) 737-1111 to inquire about securing a CENOMAR or visit their web site at http://www.census.gov.ph."

"IF YOU HAVE NEVER BEEN MARRIED"

My question is we are married. so does she still need to show a CENOMAR and if so how would we get one being that she is married and it will show up in the NSO files....
Help need asap !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is really a misnomer. What they are asking of you is essentially a CEMAR or certificate of marriage which you can get from NSO if you don't already have it.

May be you both can agree that he go to the US first and find himself a good job and show current income by the time you get approved. If that is not an option,
