We have a different address now then when the ds-230 was filled out should we inform this to the consular officer upon entry or will a ar-11 and a call to uscis be sufficient to get the new card in the mail.....at the new address..... I just dont want it to take forever considering she has to take another flight we bought two separate tickets seperated by 330 but I dont want her to take too long to the point where she misses the flight.....

Thats what I also was told when I was trying to get an interview date. I'm also interviewing in Cairo, my case was completed late june and my interview date is on the 25th of this month.

(as long as you meet the requirements - 18+, USC/LPR domiciled in the US, income sufficient)

Hello. My Fiance received her K-1 visa so i purchsed a ticket from oribz.com and ask the agent to be sure to add Philippnes Taxes. Well she failed to do so. Not knowing this erro i sent ticket by Fedx to her in Philippines. She ask airlines if ticket was good and they said yes but not for her cuz Philippines Taxes not payed. Do you mean Visa or Petition?

K1 Visa is 6 months before entry into the USA, then 90 days after entry.

Petition (NOA2) is valid for 4 months, but the consulate can extend it another 4 months if they cannot schedule a visa interview before the 4 months stated on the approved petition.

I received NOA1 dated 8/7/06. Today I received an email from CSC stating my case has been approved on 9/20/06! That's amazing!!

All I can say about the fast approval is a little bit of luck and a lot of solid no BS information from http://www.apexvisa.us/

i did bring everything that was proof in our relationship for sure like emails, i print too our chattings, letter i send my fiancee through postal and other more, but the only ask me was affidivate of support, income tax return 2006 and photos.

according to your timeline she arrived in US(LAX) March 12, 2007. Did you guys married in US or in the Philippines? She come here with CR1 Visa? or K1 visa? If she intered here as a CR1 visa, she need to apply for removal of condition before her 2 yrs green card expired. Friend, you need to consult now an immigration lawyer here in US. then, She need ASAP to go to US embassy in Manila. It's 4 months expired?....let me know again what happen OK!

I was stuck in Russia last year! same case! But I have an appoinment in Immigration so I had Biometric appoinment. I went to US embassy and asked for a visa. Then they gave me and luckly I got my 10 yrs green card now. Tell her to go in US embassy in Manila then explain what happen...

Absolutely tell the truth. Your marriage is legal. Now you get to convince a Consular Officer that it is also genuine. Expect some extra scrutiny and remember that it's evidence of time spent together that is the strongest evidence of a bona fide relationship. Your case is complicated by the fact that your spouse is both your cousin AND your neighbor so time in your city in Bangladesh isn't as strong for evidence as it would otherwise be. Taking trips together would help. Did you have a honeymoon? Do you have receipts? I think interview preparation is going to be critical to your success.


I was there for 1 week & didn't go for honeymoon. I stayed in her house. Her passport & police certificate has same last name as mine, I filed my last year tax as joint & she already received ITIN from IRS. I send her money twice every month VIA Western Union & we have the receipt of every transaction. We also have 15/20 pics of the get together party we had. Please let me know if there is anything else I should prepare as a proof.

yea i know, i actually sent in the urdu/english originals of the marriage cert. it was just this BC i'm having issues with coz he made a new one. anywaz i'll call them and ask them if there's possiblity for more RFE's or it was just the issue with birth cert.

again u know if we can convince them over the phone maybe talk to the supervisor? just trying to get the answers from visajourney ppl or probably who've been through this situation. rather than waiting 4 more weeks of getting, mailing and them reviweing it.


I don't think talking to NVC VIA phone will make any difference. Best thing you can do is ask you husband to get the thing. Here is a short cut for you.

1) E-MAIL THE RFE BARCODE SHEET TO YOUR HUSBAND & HAVE HIM PRINT IT.
2) TELL HIM TO SEND THE DOCUMENT ALONG WITH THE BARCODE COVER SHEET TO THE ADDRESS MENTIONED IN THE RFE SHEET ASAP.
3) SEND VIA FEDEX. NVC WILL GET IT WITHIN 3/4 BUSINESS DAYS. YOU CAN TRACK IT ONLINE WHEN THEY GET IT

Just to let you know, send the marriage certificate (English) & Nikah Nama (Both URDU/ENGLISH) BOTH to avoid further RFE. NVC treats NIKAH NAMA as marriage Certificate. The correct English term for Nikah Nama is MARRIAGE CONTRACT CERTIFICATE. I also got RFE for not sending Nikah Nama. Always try to use color photo copy (personal experience)

no they're not asking for my BC. obviously my spouses (beneficiary) BC which i sent them original with stamp and everything. they're so dumb to understand that stamps and signatures can also b with black ink.......


How hard is it to get a new BC ? I would recommend you hubby to get 2 new ORIGINAL/CERTIFIED BC ( keep 1 for interview, in case they loose it)& also send color photo copy. That helps a lot to differentiate between ORIGINAL & COPY.

Sounds like "married filing jointly" is the way to go!! Question to the informed folks : does one have to report the income that the spouse earned abroad? Sounds kinda silly to be doing so, but thought I'd ask anyways.

I just filled it out as per the example forms. So even though I filled out where I was living for the past 5 years (Canada), I also filled out the past year one with the same address. I figured it was better to do that than leave it blank or n/a.

I don't know how picky they are. Maybe you can just put your address beside the n/a without striking it out. Or maybe beside the n/a you can put "see above"?

Hi Everyone,

I have a quick question. I'm in the process of getting my packet together and I think I have everything but proof of an ongoing relationship. Should I include pics, passport stamps, boarding passes, letters, cards, etc w/my petition or make a copy to include w/the interview info??? Please help.

You don't need it for filing the petitions (you do need a copy of your marriage certificate for both the I-130 and I-129F) but your spouse will want to have those things at the interview at the consulate.

And of course, they don't elaborate in their press release how one "clearly states" if they wish their I-130 to go to a consulate.

I wonder... For those of us that are still in I-130 processing, is there any way to send some sort of letter to whichever service centre to request that it be sent to a consulate after approval?
