Is the content of 2 letters same? The extension letter will say I-751 Receipt Notice on the first line. The biometrics notice will start with ASC Appointment Notice and you should be able to check status online with the case number on that notice.

Kymberli and Ben - can you book info pass for sometime after the 15th? If the notice arrives before that you can cancel the appointment. If not, you can ask for passport stamp since it passes 30 days window. In our area, info pass is normally fully booked at least 2 weeks away.

On the biometrics notice, there is a box to check for rescheduling. Once you do, copy the notice, safe it for your record and mail back the original. They will send you new appointment letter within a few weeks.

Where did you get this advice? I think it would be contradicting if you attach the child's birth certificate of your child when no name is listed on Part 5. Info about your children.

About the affidavit, the latest instruction (8/25/08 version) specifically asks for at least 2. I included in my submission just to minimize the chance of RFEs. But it's your call though.

They take 5 days to get back a Canada-wide name check. They are the ones in Toronto authorised to perform RCMP checks. Not sure if they will do it from overseas but if you have the time and money for her to go to Toronto, then ask them what ID she will require going in person and if she can get it mailed back or if she has to wait to pick it up.

I wouldn't check it... it could get damaged. Take it as carry-on. I've taken a laptop, digital video camera and digital cameras before as carry-on without a problem. However, I already owned these items. You may want to declare the items as a gift when you go through through Canadian customs and immigration in Toronto because it doesn't matter if you take it as carry-on or luggage -- if you get pulled into secondary inspection, they'll search all of that.

Don't bothering calling USCIS, call the Department of State. USCIS only processes the initial petitions and their 1-800 number is useless. Anyway it is the consulates (falls under Department of State) that actually issues the visas.

Non-Immigrant Visa number is the number in red on your K1.

A number is the number on your I-129F approval notice OR your visa (some consulates don't put it on the visa).

Winters were ALWAYS bad for my skin and I was born and raised there! In the winter, my skin was so dry that it would hurt when I put lotion on. Shea butter is pretty good for dry skin so maybe look for something with that in it.
