K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	No case number after 4 weeks being approved	Okay, so I called CSC and pushed all the "appropriate" buttons for an approved petition. You just get a customer service rep who isn't even in California and they CAN'T even tell you where the file is. The guy even told me that if I was approved on March 24, 2008 then that's when it was shipped. Yeah, right. So, then I called and used TBone's RFE trick. Call 1-800-375-5283. Hit 1, 2, 2, 4, 2, 1. Enter your receipt number. Then hit 1, 1. You should get an actual person at CSC who can look and tell you EXACTLY where your file is. I spoke to a REALLY nice lady (but I can't remember her name). I told her my NOA2 date was March 24, 2008. On the NOA2 is says "If it has been more than four weeks since you received this approval notice and you HAVE NOT received notification from NVC that you petition has been FORWARDED OVERSEAS, please call the NVC at (603) 334-0700" I told her I called them and they told me they didn't have it yet. So it must still be in California. She said she would look and put me on hold for a minute. When she got back on the line she said once the NOA2 is issued, the cases go to an "NVC staging area" to await shipment. Mine left the staging area yesterday which means that it is on its way to the NVC. It left on April 21, 2008. If you call this number and get someone who won't go look, just try back later. Once you've filed for the I129F, all you can do is WAIT. I submitted in November as well and I have heard nothing either. I know the wait feels terrible, but all you can do is be patient. CSC approved 39 K1 petitions last week (2 of them haven't updated their timelines yet). If they keep at that pace, we should both get approvals in March!!! This last time he went in, I called in desparation to the National #, and kept going around the choices as to which button to hit (really not sure how I got to where I did) but I was put into contact with the most wonderful lady you can imagine. I explained the single dad in waiting, trying to juggle all, and crying out for help - she put me on old a minute then filled out an expidite request. I am hard of hearing and explained that I try to do most by email. Wow, got an email telling me to fax supporting document to VSC. I got them together, with a dated statement from the hospital and tried several times on Friday to fax, getting 'check condition of remote fax'. So ran out Saturday morning to Post Office and priority mailed the originals. I have a NOA-1 date of 11-1, so figure mine is fairly close to the top of the stack out there anyway. But what I am amazed about was the compassion that I got. No matter what happens, one lady taking calls at the National line has my deepest thanks and gratitude. I think it is important for all of us to remember that there are humans with feeling on the other side processing our papers. They are going as fast as they can doing the job they have been given to do. Please give them the benefit of the doubt as to processing times - I know we are all anxious to be with the ones we love, but as Thumper had to say "if you can't say nothin good, don't say nothin at all". For whatever circumstances are involved, we all have fallen in love with someone that requires a test of patience by a higher power, the folks processing the paper are doing their best to minimize the duration, but there is still the test we must complete. Nuff said... Thank you for the "Thumper" quote. I often think that when I am reading posts here. I know we are all lonely, impatient, and frustrated. But that is no reason to take it out on others who are also lonely, impatient and frustrated. Best wishes for both of your sons. I hope they are able to recover. And you probably are close to the top of the stack, since you are at VSC. If you were at CSC, they probably wouldn't be able to find your petition under the stack of JULY, AUGUST, SEPTEMBER and OCTOBER files. I hope you get your expedite and that your sons will be okay. When your check is cashed, you get a case number (they print it on the back of the check). You can then create an account online with USCIS. When they do something with your case, the status date changes. That's what a "touch" is. It doesn't tell you what the DID to your file, just that they did SOMETHING. Any time they move the file, or open it, they scan the barcode and the date changes. That's what people are referring to when they say they've been touched. The check was cashed on November 26, 2007 and with the case number from the back (boy am I grateful for online banking and the scanned image of my check) I was able to create an online account with USCIS. The info online says they opened the petition on November 21, 2007. YIPPEE!!!!!!!!! They gave me something to be thankful for right before Thanksgiving and I didn't even know it!!!!!!!!
