Congrats for that one! I sent my packet 3 back a few days before you so Im hoping to hear something within the next week!
With regards to not having much notice...I would go tomorow if there was a chance!!!
Good Luck

According to our timelines I sent Packet 3 back four days before you. But I do believe that they were processed at the same time because we've both been eligible for interview since 12th December. Which means you should hear something very soon now. good.gif

Gillian

United Kingdomnow that we are citizens
Hi All,
Its been a long time, I can not tell you how much easier the immigration process was with the support of this site.
but now that I we are all naturalized, I would like to go back to Scotland for a while to take care of my sister who has M.S. my children where 11 and 3 when we came to America they are now 19 and 12.
I know there is a housing shortage and stuff in the Scotland now but how would I go about settling back into Scotland for say 6 months or a year ( I do not want to live my my sister she has no space in her home ) my 19 year old does not have his natonal insurance number which gets issued at 16 there.
Any ideas on housing and how to file taxes here while in Scotland if we are still there in January ?

I'm sure they look at it. I can't tell you cuz I haven't sent mine yet, but I've seen some people get RFE's for them. Pretty odd they would require a joint sponsor. Perhaps its different when you're using assets instead of income.

IT COULD BE MY FRIEND DID NOT DOCUMENT HIS ASSETS CORRECTLY.LIKE DEEDS OF PROPERTY AND PROOF OF OWNERSHIP ETC

are you sure they weren't K-1 or K-3 filers? They fill out a different form and take it to the embassy.

One I am sure of was I-130 spouse and that was a friend of mine.He claims to have plenty of money and assets and I believe it.He had to get a co sponsor???The others might have been K3.I am not sure

Hi Everyone

I would like some input on this obsevation: Several VJers and also a friend of mine were turned down at the interview at the embassy because their income did not meet the proper reqirements. My question is if when the I-864 was mailed in why was there not a question or rfe at that time? Why wait until a person is at the interview to be turned down.Your opionions, suggestions, and knowledge would be greatly appreciated.Thank you

IMBRA Special TopicsWHO WANTS TO JOIN ME????????????

:help: Well you make a very good point. My fiancé and I are wanting to know what is going on with our status. And I can't seem to find out anything, and that too, the info I do get ahold of is so strung out that I cannot make sense of it. We want answers on our case status. When I visit the site, the numbers that are posted are not exactly labeled for all matters. Then it took FOREVER to update the site, and once they did, it still said they were processing I-129F forms for Feb. Over about a month time-span, the processes had not changed, though the site said it WAS updated, if that was the case, wouldnt the processing dates as well?

What do you propose we do about it? I want answers, yes, but without pissing them off to where it causes problems for my case. :protest:

yes yes yes

IMBRA Special TopicsCriminal Report

I will take a guess.....all arrests are reported to the FBI. The FBI will be the source of this info, not you local PD. The FBI only supplies this info to other law enforcement agencies.

You can order your own FBI record. I've done it twice for NZ Immigration. So have countless others. Directions are on the FBI website. :P

I really don't know why he said that... as far as police reports for any place you have lived for six months... my husband got his fine... actually Egypt one he went to the consulate..they had forms and everything there you just paid and they sent.. Montreal had the same

also yes the website mentioned also for the FBI

I am sure you would find help here under the guides and possible sample forms as well
good luck

IMBRA Special TopicsExpedite Request

mike,

Agreed. The USCIS is in a bit of chaos with regard to IMBRA, another example can be seen here:
http://groups.google...13e52ca77f192ab

If you don't participate in the Usenet newsgroup alt.visa.us.marriage-based you might want to at least keep an eye on it. You'll find worthwhile information coming from the AILA, which has contacts with the USCIS, via folinskyinla, that you won't find here.

The USCIS has announced that it is sending out the IMBRA RFEs in batches, to get that part of the job done as quickly as possible. Still nothing that I've seen to indicate that they won't be following the standart FIFO approach to processing when the responses come back.

Your case is fully processed except for the IMBRA questions, there should be little to do to reaffirm your approval once you provide them with the information they need to do so.

Yodrak

mike,

If your petition had been approved already and had to be recalled (because the VSC got ahead of itself) then you have a Notice Date that puts you at the head of the line.

What's to expedite? Who is there to move you ahead of?

Yodrak

I just Received a letter in the mail today from DHS and it was thicker than the one I received on Friday, with the notice of action. I was getting so excited as I thought it was finally the RFE. Well when I opened it, it is from Mr. Paul Novak. He states that our recalled petition does NOT meet the criteria for special handling.

THIS IS A DISGRACE TO EVERYONE WHO WAS RECALLED!!!! I have never been so disappointed in my government in my entire life.

Yodrak,

.... I am not even sure they know how they will handle the order. ALl of the new petitions that are being filed now are using the new form and won't receive the RFE. SO where does it leave us recalled petitions????

Mike
If it helps...today snail mail we received a RFE IMBRA for our I129F dated June 30, 2006...even though our I130 was approved and completed by NVC on 06/07/2006. Although we will be abandoning the I129F to continue with the I130, we will still complete and return the RFE IMBRA just to cover all bases. we received the email notice today.
Perhaps yours in in the mail as well.

We filed the I129F after approval of our I130, why does my USCIS receipt number for the I129F begin with MSC instead of EAC
Thank you

B/C it goes to the Missouri Service Center for for Processing.....at least that's how it was explained to me.....If I am wrong....somebody please correct me.

Mary K.

Thank you, this seems to be the answer I have been given.
By the way... how did you get your processing time info on your page? I have tried and cannot figure it out. Someone suggested doing it under signature but everytime I try it says error to big

USCIS Service CentersWhat on Earth to do now????? :(
We are beside ourselves.. we can not get any answers
We submitted I601 & I212 waivers on October 2007, April 2008 we received RFE and submitted July 2008.
July 28, 2008 we received letter that they received our RFE and we would receive "finalization or update within 60 days.
90 days later October 2008 we sent certified letter requesting status update on our case. To date we have receive no response! Calls to customer service tells us to send another letter for request for update.
Also January 2009 we sent a Request to expedite due to my (US citizen) being totally out of work due to motor vehicle accident (receiving no benefits or disability due to being self employed) One week letter received what appeared to be a form letter stating "Documents submitted failed to establish a level of extreme concern that would meet these criteria:
Humanitarian, Extreme Emergency, Severe Financial Loss" (I can not find anywhere their definition or requirements to show Severe Financial Loss, now as of Feb 1st I am unemployed and had to close my business. Should I resubmit? What can I submit as proof?
(With the economy the way it is now, being a nail technician is not a necessity)
Please ANY advice or guidance

ps we started this journey with our I130 September 2005... almost 4 years now ohhhhhh

Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g)Fingerprinting question

Because my husband´s twin brother was deported 5 years ago, my husband was asked to submit fingerprints for an FBI check to verify that he is actually who he says he is not his twin brother.

The CO told us it only takes a couple of days to get the results....just wondering if anyone has had this experience (the fingerprinting) and what happened in your case?

We are hoping and praying that it really only takes a couple of days to receive the results, so that is specifically what I am asking about. We are extremely anxious to go back to Texas together next week.

Any comments would be greatly appreciated (L)

Montreal told us the same only a few days... almost 4 weeks to the day we received the letter with results.
Good luck

IMBRA Special TopicsIMBRA RFE for K3

Thanks, aussiewench. You do more to help visa petitioners than people who're paid to do it! You could write a book. Because even people with higher educations are brought low when faced with this confusing process.

Now that K3s are getting RFEs, the next issue will be what to do: follow K3 or CR-1? It's a numbers game that's too early to predict. But if you got your CR-1 in 8 months, and IMBRA adds 2 months to a K3 that previously took 6 months, then ...

Jerseygirl I think you should write the book, your humor and positive attitude would help everyone going through this. No matter how down and discouraged I get some of your posts make me laugh and find my positive attitude again. I don't post much but I read a lot and even though you don't know it you have helped a lot during this whole journey. Thanks!!

USCIS Service CentersIts a miracle! CSC updated its processing info!
VJ members can only tell you what is happening to their own cases. You would hear from your service center if you are being transferred. pnd629 is saying they were approved in only two months so don't count on the processing dates for accuracy.

Our NOA1 date was March 1 and we were approved in May!
I don't think their dates are very accurate.

I'm fairly new to the visa process, and especially the timeline jargon and understanding the Service Center processing times, so I'm sorry if I don't follow...

Are you saying that:

1. Something didn't happen until May for you, that they claimed happened in March, or
2. Vice Versa, or
3. Something else?

Thanks in advance for the clarification...

I filed in Nebraska, as instructed, and have since been informed by VJ members that my I-130 is being sent to CSC... so I am confused and discouraged, and my wife is even more discouraged...

I thought the CR-1 immigration would take 6 months, and my wife could be here by Christmas 2006, but I guess I was in dreamland...?
