K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresInterview In 2 Days - Need All Your Advice Please

Depends on the reason why you had your Psych Evaluation. If it's regarding a previous marriage, depression and other emotional problems, well you know, it happens.

If it's because of Drug related problems, depending on the severity, I am not sure. You said no testing was made so I guess you're good to go!

In the New building of the US Embassy in Manila, Window 11 if I'm not mistaken, is located in the left side where they do the Non Immigrant Applicant Interviews wherein as we all know, a lot of Tourist Visas are getting rejected everyday. I don't think you are going to pass by that window.

For K1? You don't need those. Just the DS Forms. 156, 156k and 157.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresVisa Fees
I almost paid the wrong fee too because when I went to BPI they told me it's only $160 but since it's written in bold in the Packet 3 that the fee is $350, I made the teller review the rates and there he found how much the K1 fee really is.

She should just pay the balance. Contact the embassy if there's a way around this. If none, be careful next time then.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresOriginal Documents during interview
I think as long as it's registered it will be accepted. Have supporting documents with you like your Baptismal Certificate just to be sure. Coz I know someone who had problems with her Birth Certificate so the Embassy asked for her Baptismal Certificate instead and they accepted it.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSpouse or Fiance Visa?
Fiance visa is faster but he needs to be a US Citizen to petition you as a fiancee. If you want to go by this route he needs to wait till he become a USC.

He can, however, petition you as a Spouse even if he's not yet a citizen. So in your case the Spousal Visa would be faster if you badly want to be with each other.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresInterview for K1 visa next week, any last minute tips.....
  • Be nice to the embassy staff.
  • Wear appropriate clothes. (Lol there was a USC who accompanied his fiance who wore a "Barong", we thought it looked funny but sweet. There was also a whole family who wore Barongs.)
  • Have your documents ready! A saw a guy (a fiance) who didn't have his DS forms and even made the Embassy staff look for it in his folders.)
  • Don't be bugged by the vendors outside the embassy.
  • If you can, bring an umbrella with you because it's been raining in Manila and you don't wanna get wet while waiting outside the building. (I'm not sure if umbrellas are allowed inside so have someone wait for you outside)
  • Don't bring any electronics(laptop, usb, cellphones), food and liquids. (Again have someone wait for you so you can leave your items to him/her. It's quite expensive to leave them to the vendors. They charge 150p)
  • Bring a coat or jacket if you have low cold tolerance coz it gets cold inside the embassy.
  • Memorize the dates. (Most frequent asked questions are When did you meet?, When was the first/last time you saw each other?, For how long have you been together?)

Thats all I could think off. Relax! The interview is very easy. I also told my fiance "Wow I just had my first American experience". Because they are very organized and professional unlike majority of the government establishments here in the PI where people are power tripping. :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresVaccinations for K1 Visa
When I talked to the doctor at St. Luke's, she told me K1 applicants are not required to take the vaccines because we have the option to get it in the US. Since she is in Singapore can she tell the clinic to forward her medical result to the embassy and insist on getting the 2nd shot after the interview? I'm not sure how it works there but holding the interview for a shot that isn't required is a waste of time.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresChange in plans..will this be a problem?
Do the officials at the POE open the yellow envelope right there and then and look for the #34 item in her DS 156?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDoes it matter if he visited me only once?
It's okay. I've seen a lot of K1 filers who only saw their fiancees only once. As long as it's within two years

Bring pictures preferably the mushy ones and with your family and friends. They often ask how many times he visited you and for how long.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresManila Applicants: 2 Day Medical
The medical exam was the hardest part of the visa process for me because of lots of sitting and waiting. I'd advise you to go there before or after lunch because when I had my medical last month, also on a Monday, I arrived there at 11AM and finished first at 3PM than the ones who fell in line before 6AM. Expect Monday to be a busy day.

The blood work is to find out if you have Syphilis or HIV and drug use (?), Urine test to find out if you are pregnant and for drug use as well, Xray for Tuberculosis and lung related medical conditions, in the Physical Exam they will ask you about your medical history, drug use and to inspect your body for wounds possibly due to suicide attempts. They will interview you also on which vaccines you will be given according to your age.

Answer only what is being asked. :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresG-325A: typo error of date in employment last five years
You didn't get an RFE so don't worry I guess. How bad is the typo error? Because you will also need to provide your employment details on your DS forms.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedurestypical questions asked to a fiance (female) in an interview
The Filipino prescreeners sometimes ask more than the American consuls. But it's more of like a conversation rather an interview. As long as you know the details about your relationship and the important dates, you're good to go.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPreparing for med exam at St Lukes
I arrived at 11:30AM and finished first than those who arrived at 6AM. People tend to rush to SLEC at 3-6AM so the line in the morning is usually long. And after they are done at around
9 or 10, there will be fewer applicants left around lunch time. I wasn't in a hurry and went there after the "early birds" finished so I had a lesser waiting period in between tests.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSt Lukes appointment
It is an online registration and not an appointment, if I'm not mistaken. People register online so when they get to St Luke's they won't have to fill up the form.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresport of entry question!

Thank you so much...i wish i had enough time for this immigration thing. so after them checkd my papers that's it and i am ready to go? i hope no more interview?

The officer will ask you a couple of questions like "Why are you here? Is your fiance outside waiting for you? Where will you stay? etc" and he/she will attach the lower part of the I-94 in your passport. Make sure that the info on the I-94 are correct! Coz mine has a typo in it (1 number in my Alien number was wrong) After that you can go and your next interview will be for the AOS...IF they ask for an interview.

Medical history like if you had any diseases/medical conditions such as:
Typhoid fever, Tuberculosis, Heart problems, Depression, suicide history, past pregnancy and others

They are more particular about contagious diseases and psychiatric conditions.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPlease help. Got our NVC Case Number today, so what's next?

NOA2 Approval was last Aug 10. I called the NVC today and got our NVC / MNL Case Number. Yay! What are the next steps?

Are these steps correct:

1. Pay the Visa Fee of 350 USD at BPI
2. Schedule for an interview.

Questions are:
1. What form(s) should I accomplish so I could book for an interview? Do I need to accomplish / submit DS-160 online?
2. What's the best way to book, via call center or online?
3. Do I need to wait for the Packet from US Embassy before booking for an interview?

Please help. Thank you so much guys :)

1. You do not need DS 160. It's for Non Immigrant applicants only. Other forms were mentioned above me.
2. I scheduled my interview online. It was hassle free and as easy as logging in on facebook. As long as you allotted ample time from the payment in the bank to going online (minimum 3 hours).
3. Don't wait for it as long as you have your case number you can proceed with your medical exam. Just bring your NOA2 and passport.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresQuestion 10 in the I-134 Affidavit of Support

Hopefully common sense would allow them to see she needed a simple correction. She has the 108 dollar signed original that could be attached to the corrected copy. I have seen this done before & accepted.

I used a scanned copy too to correct an error in an original document (my fiance added 5 years to my age. lol). Didn't have problems with it.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresImmigration specialist to file a K1 petition
Oh my, we hired a law firm to fill out the forms for us, paid $3,000 for the petition alone and we didn't even need them coz we don't have issues whatsoever, we were just nervous wrecks. It was hassle free since we just provided our infos and they did everything else but we didn't retain them for the consular processing/embassy interview and it saved us almost the same amount. It's understandable that when you are not familiar with the process we tend to be nervous and paranoid but it's part of it. Save your money for the AOS. Hire a lawyer if there's a problem that might be an issue during the process. :)
