Hey everyone,

Today is the day when the Ambassador to the United States for Hungary comes to my University to give a lecture. His roles have included - Chief negotiator for the Hungary–Slovakia Framework Treaty; Chief negotiator for the Hungary–Romania Framework Treaty; Chief negotiator for Hungary’s NATO accession talks; and Chief negotiator for Hungary’s EU accession talks. Consul General Balázs Bokor, of the Hungary Consulate in Los Angeles and newly appointed Honorary Consul S. George Simon of the new Hungarian Consulate in Salt Lake City will accompany Ambassador Somogyi.

So a a few of his buddies will be attending with him. Do you all think it is a possibility to ask them questions concerning my visa petition and what things I should do or is it really unnecessary?

2. School - I am a full time college student and finding time to think about how long we have to wait is a little hard at times.
3. Work - I am also working two jobs in attempt to be the Sponsor for my future wife.
4. Hobbies - I still try to enjoy life by doing things that I enjoy doing and it also helps the time pass.
5. Family/Friends - I spend time with my buddies in College and with my family participating in different activities.
6. Sports - Not only helps you become healthier but is also a great stress reliever during difficult times.

Well, if you are doing many of these you will find that time passes quickly and you will have less time to focus on how long it will take, but instead you will be helping build the relationship you have and laying down a foundation for when you can be truly together.

Sounds to me the Lawyer left those documents on this desk for a while even though you are paying to have him take care of it. Remember that he really doesn't care if you get a Visa. All he cares about are his own interest which are Money, money, and more money.

Starting the K1 process, wow it took me a month or so to get everything together, but that was because I am going to school and working two part time jobs.

For me, and this is my thoughts to you, is sit down and make a plan. The process will go much smoother if you make a plan and follow through.

Read through all the guidelines here and follow them step by step. Then, continue and make your plan accordingly. Remember, the more detailed your plan, the more detailed your K1 petition will be. So don't feel rushed to get things done. Pay attention to detail and take your time. It is a long process and adding a month to make things perfect will pay off in the long run.

For example, rushing through it might increase your chances of getting an RFE because your chances of missing important details are higher. An RFE will probably add a few weeks to two months to your case. So taking your time will help you eliminate such issues.

If you have specific questions or things that you just do not understand. You have found the right place to ask them and you are invited to continue as everyone here will do their best to help you. That has been my experience and I am sure it will be yours too.

Don't make any plans according to the estimated date. I have seen my change going back and fourth almost every day. It is really there just to give you a general idea and to help you compare with others who are registered on this website. The date is useful in trying to determine whether the Service Center is slow in processing or moving quickly.

For example my case. My date is June 1, 2008. That is the estimated date of my petition being approved or in other words around that time I should receive my NOA 2. That does not mean I WILL recieve my NOA 2 then but it does tell me that the California Service Center is moving very slowly. I can probably expect 180 days waiting time since receiving my NOA 1 due to the slow processing times. That is 58 more days than the average.

Will I get lucky and receive the NOA 2 sooner? That is something all of us here on Visa Journey are praying for.

In summary, sit tight, relax, and enjoy the ride. Make yourself at home here at Visa Journey and be assured that things will come in due time.

I have been listening to the news in Hungary and the Ambassador there is working hard to get Hungary part of the Visa Waiver Program. I know that with that program the requirements are similar to that of a real Visa but the candidate may travel to the US for 90 days.

My question is, does that individual need a K1 Visa to be legally married to an American? What do you know about the Visa Waiver Program?

One important thing to remember is that a Lawyer really does not care about your case. Are they going to do their best to get your case done fast? Probably not, all they care about is your money. In such a case where you can get help from everyone here on the Visa Journey website plus all the guides that are offered here. There is really no good reason to get a lawyer unless you have complications in which could alter the success of your case. If you are clean of those problems, it is suggested that you don't waste the money and time dealing with a lawyer.

Its not like we can take it to the supreme court to make a change. Unfortunately we are just left in the dust. I too am a CSC filer and I feel like I need to wait half a year when a VSC filer only needs a few months. There might even be many who filed at the same time I did and be married by the time my K1 is approved.

This can be a very frustrating for me and honestly it is trying my patience. If there was something I could do then I would make any arrangement possible to have that done. Since non of my relatives are in congress or in any executive government, all I can do is wait, even if the process takes 12 months which it is starting to become a reality to me.

This sucks, but I try to hold the positive point of view considering the fact that one year may seem like a long time, but it really does go by fast. If for some reason my K1 is denied. I am not sure if I can do it again, but I am sure that I will try to create that bridge for my love one way or another.
