QUOTE (awu25 @ Dec 12 2007, 11:32 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
We have had taken a vacation trip together to Thailand and I have visited her in Ukraine. We do most of our communication over instant message though my lawyer says we need to start calling each other so we have records of constant communication so we are starting to do that now.

We are not the lovy dovy kind of couple and while we do discuss our future together, how we enjoy each other's company, lots of flirting we have not really used the "L" word except in some of our flirt and jokes.

My question is can this still prove that we have an ongoing relationship without saying things which may make people puke?

Sure, just as long as you can prove you have some sort of communication with that person. They need to just know that you have continual communication with that person. That is why phone bills are good evidence to show. Emails as well.

You did send an original I-129F, didn't you? By "original" I mean the signed (not a copy) form.

Yes I sent all the original signed forms. Okay, so I just need to order a new birth certificate. Gotcha. So I will send all the real flight tickets and everything I used as proof we know each other?

Everything that you made copies of to send with your petition, send the originals to your fiancee. That includes boarding passes, photographs, receipts, birth certificate, letters, etc. If it was in your petition, send the original to your fiancee. Do not, however, send your passport if you used it as evidence. Make copies, but don't send the real one.

So send everything I sent with my K1 petition to the California service center to her?

Yes. You're going to send her a complete duplicate copy of the I-129F package you sent to USCIS. You're also going to send her all of the original documents that you included in your I-129F. For documents such as divorce decrees and birth certificats, I'd suggest ordering these from the respective agencies so that if they're lost in transit or something, you won't be without those important documents.

You will hear advice from people saying "they only wanted to see an original copy of <document>." Keep in mind that the chances of them wanting to see *all* of your documents is pretty low. But when they say "show me his birth certificate" or "show me his divorce decree," you'll want to have it available. You can't predict what documents they're going to ask for, so it's best to have it all.

Hey everyone,

I have been reviewing the guides here on visajourney.com, and under the list of steps that need to be taken once you recieve the NOA 2, one of them states, Send all originals of the documentary proof that you submitted for the I-129F to your fiance(e) for their interview at the embassy. I am not exactly sure what this is meaning. Could someone please clearify?

Thank you

Here's hoping you didn't file an I-129 petition.

Thankfully no, I figured they were talking about I-129's in general, meaning any I-129 however this is not the case.

Thanks everyone. From all of your feedback, I tend to think it's not that much of a deal as the official instructions never mentions this step, unless of course, USCIS loses things, it remains a fail-safe option, granted that every application is as legit as it gets. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and wish we all luck!

You are talking about the NOA1 right? You will recieve a NOA1 in the mail after you have submitted your application through the mail. The content is just a page telling you your case number and giving further information about how the application process will run.

I mean even if one month is added I can probably live with that, I just hope there is not added 5 months making this a one year process. That could be quite distressing.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresShould I hire a Lawyer?
QUOTE (Jesse G @ Jan 24 2008, 12:37 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hi, Dave.

No, don't bother with a lawyer unless your case is notably complex. I don't gather that yours is. For a simple case, a lawyer is more likely to slow things down than speed things up, and they are completely unnecessary. Plus, I've seen lots of "horror stories" about people who hired lawyers and seriously regretted it. It's not an easy process, but if you read through what's available from the DoS/USCIS/VisaJourney, you should have all the information you need.

If you have $2,000 that you are aching to spend, though, I can send you a list of CD's I want! wink.gif

Just sit tight, prepare for next steps, and wait for approval.. Patience will pay off here.

Most importantly, don't forget to make time for your sweetheart with the two jobs and your college schedule !! smile.gif

Hope everything goes smoothly! Good luck!

Yeah you are right Jesse G, thanks for the advice and help.

Yes, even with two jobs and going to a full semester load at my University I somehow manage to find some time for my sweetie, sure is difficult at times though.

blink.gif huh.gif no, he will not, if he lives in the UK and has not been arrested / convicted, he is free to travel to the USA on the VWP, he can come and go the the USA as many times has he likes, but must not stay in the USA beyond 90 days at a time on each visit. The Advanced Parole is for when he lives here once he has been issued his K1 visa, not the other way round !!!

Personally I think the DCF is quicker, if you can do it that way DO IT.

You are the one completing the petition correct?

For you since you do not have any other previous cases I presume with the USCIS, then you just need to put "None" next to the File Number.

As for Nationality put American

Carefully choose between the two. If you're taking a math test and the answer is zero, you don't write N/A. The question about other names used as definitely applicable, even if the answer is "none". The two terms don't carry the same meaning.

Pushbrk is right and he is really good at pay attention to small details like this so take his advice.
