Hát igen, 11 évet ott töltöttem, nem volt kellemes dolog. Nyíregyházan születtem, mindig a Keleti oldalon laktam Magyarországban. :< De most már minden rendben van! : )

Én is laktam Nyiregyházan!

Nagyszüleim Erdélyben élnek, náluk töltöttem a nyaraimat gyerekként.

Congratulations! Thank you for the help and kind offer, we shall definitely keep it in mind. Good luck with your move, we hope it goes as smoothly as possible for you. Hope you enjoy the city and eachother, congrats again smile.gif

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAge questions and general concerns
A few questions, if these have probably been asked before but I couldn't find them:
1) How often do people get an RFE?
Not often at all as long as you complete your paperwork
2) How soon after sending in their I-129F do they usually get an RFE?
That time could always vary
Also, my fiancee and I are both fairly young (born in 89 and 90) but are quite sure about this decision in our lives. We've both noticed that most of the people on this board are in their twenties.
Are we more likely to get turned down for a K-1 due to our ages?
Not sure what age limits are. Possibly if you show parents approval there will be no problems.
Has anyone had age discrimination problems?
I have yet to hear of any cases

We've messaged a lot but we don't have a lot of info (no letters or passport since you do not need one to go US/Canada), we have five emails each, photos from two trips, along with bills for our engagement rings, cell phone calls, and money spent on trips.

Will this be good enough?
As of evidence to prove the relationship? Initially that will be enough if you are sending in your petition. That would even be enough for the interview.

I would recommend that you take a look at the guides and FAQ on this website and read over them carefully. Spend a little time each day because the material is a lot easier to understand once you start to understand the basic concepts of this entire process.

Honestly, just provide normal pictures of you both. Pictures of you together with family.

Just general pictures will work just fine. No reason to go "official" for the proof. You may be trying to go a little overboard.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresMy fiance denied tourist visa 2 times...
No need to worry everything will be fine.

My fiance was denied a tourist visa and she was asked a few simple questions about it and that was all. Just make sure your fiance answers the questions honestly with nothing to hide and everything will be fine.

Hi,

Well my Fiance signed the G-325a form and forgot or didn't know that she needed to say "None" in a few of the boxes. So they are now left blank, is it okay if I go ahead with black ink write in the "None" or will that upset the USCIS?

One last thing: have your father put "For Dave's I-129F petition" on the check's note line.

Personal check is fine by USCIS, you can easily see if the check gets cashed, and with most banks can get scans of the check to see case number.

Cashiers check is a tremendous waste of $$, if you do not have a personal checking account then use a money order, I would use one from the USPS since it is drawn on the federal reserve bank and is just as good as CASH.

Heh Dan. Have you or anyone ever heard of someone using a friends personal check ?
I'd be afraid to but a check is a check. At least they would have a chance of get the WAC or whatever number if they don't have their own checking account. Guess it would be aconsidered a second party check.
I've never seen this pop up!

Uhmm, what do you mean? Yeah I want to make sure the check is in my name.

A personal check is preferrable. I would only use a money order if you don't have a checking account. I would even prefer dear old Dad wrote the check and give him the money. It allows you to know that your package was received, opened, and the check cashed, instead of waiting for something in the mail that may take a couple months.

So its okay even if I have my Dad fill out the check? So it doesn't have to be in my name? Shoot, that could make things a lot easier in that case. I was just thinking that could cause issues.

Hey everyone,

Today I walked in the bank asking for a Money Order and they told me that they didn't offer them and said I needed to go to a gas station or grocery store. However they were able and willing to give me a Cashiers check.

I know on the Instructions given from USCIS they ask that it come from a bank, so what do I do? Should I look for another bank that may offer money orders? Or can I just do the cashiers check.

Maybe it would not matter if I got a Money Order from the grocery store?

Thanks for the help.

QUOTE (Gwen666 @ Oct 19 2007, 12:08 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
It depends on why the visa was denied. Generally speaking, no, it's not a one-shot deal; you can revise and appeal or apply again.

If you get denied, you can reapply but you need to appy for a waiver as well. You could go get married in the country he or she lives in and apply for the K3 visa. Or you could go live in the country where he or she lives for the time needed to gain residency and then you can file Directly to the consulate.

Hi,

This is just a question that popped in my mind. I am a college student so Financial aid is going to be made while going through this process, especially when I do get married.

Any thoughts or input would be helpful.

Thanks.

There's no reason the K-1 should affect your financial aid. However, once you are able to list her as a dependent on your taxes, it will probably have some effect. You should talk to a student financial counselor on the effects of having a spouse on your pell grant. But the mere act of filing and receiving a K-1 will not affect it.

From what I thought you are more likely to get a Pell Grant will married because you are no longer dependent on yoru parents. I was just concerned because I would have to declare my dependent as a foreign or international right?

1. Pictures, with dates and explanations on the back.
2. Color photocopies of plane tickets and flight schedule coming home from Hungary.
3. Color photocopy of all Bus passes during my time in Hungary.
4. Copy of stamps in Passport of entering and exiting Hungary.
5. Copy of Visa for Hungary in Passport.
6. Copy of Residency permit in Hungary.
7. Copy of letter written while in Hungary. (The letter has a date)

Is there more that I should include here? I have my Petition all setup with the Acco fastener, I am just about to put it in the mail, maybe even TODAY!

Yes,

But I need to know if it is okay to make just black and white copies. For example some of the proof is in color and the signatures are blue. Does that matter then if they are black and white?

Black and white is fine. The only reason why you'd need 2 copies of the entire packet is so that you and your fiance can each have a copy in case of an RFE (and peace of mind!). Most often than not USCIS won't be seeing the other copies.

Thanks this helps a lot!

Hello everyone,

It has been a good time period since I have posted here. I am just thinking of possible ways to be with my Fiance and I was wondering if it would cause problems for me to apply for a visa to reside in Hungary and possibly work and go to school. During that time I could wait for the K1 process to go through yet I could still be with my Fiance.

Is this possible or would the two conflict with each other?

One problem it creates is with the affidavit of support showing current US income.

Well due to the fact I am a college student I plan on having a co-signer. Would it still be possible?

I will be sending in my petition tomorrow. Since I did not have personal checks I had my Dad write one out, is that going to matter?

Thanks.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPaying for your Visa application fees
Mine was sent last week and delivery confirmation has already been confirmed. My check as well has shown to have gone through so I know they have my petition. Now the question stands, how long will it take? I can only pray and hope it will take the average amount of time which is usually 6 or more months. I am hoping my information sufficient to avoid any possible RFE's.

I would just pay the extra and go the extra mile.

Do I just continue to wait from here until receiving the 2 NOA?

Thanks

Congrats!
What service center did you file with? We sent ours on the 5th of December.
Your post made me smile! smile.gif

Sent to the California center. From what I hear the hard part is getting past the NVC for Hungary, after that its a breeze so I am praying all goes well. It is just so hard because all you want is to be with that person you love so much and yet there is this obstacle in which you have no control over.
