We took that advice, in fact we still have no ticket purchased at all... Obviously we are just getting very frustrated with the attitude of "wait longer." If the embassy knows it won't be ten days from the interview, they should just tell us to wait a month.

I feel like we are horses being lured by a carrot on a stick. Just feeling frustrated and very trapped. Trying to vent here and looking for similar experiences.

the embassy emailed you on the 12th saying your visa will be with you in 5-10 business days but yet 2 days later you think it is taking too long??? you still have another 3-8 days before your 5-10 day period is up


Because they emailed me 10 days after my interview only to say to wait another 10 days maximum.

Most of the other users we read here receive theirs after 2-3 days after being approved. I'm not even located somewhere in the boondocks.

Hi. I had my interview last September 2, 2011 and was approved for a visa. I've been checking both 2GO e-trace (MNL case number still invalid) and Manila Embassy's email since then to no avail.

The embassy emailed me September 12, 2011 stating that my visa has been issued and will take 5-10 business days. I just checked earlier today (September 14) with 2GO (branch and online) but it still isn't with them.

My flight is on the 22nd. Why is it taking them so long? I live an hour or two outside of Manila.

It's a bit frustrating since I can't schedule CFO seminar (I want to do it one time with the visa on hand since I live outside of Manila) and it seems too close to our planned flight. :(

My appointment letter arrived after I got home from my interview (and got approved).

They just need to see the printed appointment schedule (from online), your passport, proof of payment (not really because you can't schedule an appointment if you haven't paid in BPI yet), DS-156 (2 copies), DS-156K, DS-157 (2 copies) and the others (W2, Affidavit of Support, etc) that I can't remember now (I guess you already know those).

Have a nice breakfast on that day! I almost became hypoglycemic while waiting for it to be done. No food/drinks allowed inside. No electronics (cellphone, USB, etc). There will be a little kiosk inside with snacks. I'm just not sure what time they open.

Has anyone recently gone through the process of bringing his/her fiance from Iran ?

We believe it could be a little trickier since there is no embassy in Teheran and the process would have to be done in Turkey, Qatar, etc. Any recommendation on the country where we should schedule the appointment (faster and most efficient) ?

A...Hopefully not. A K1 visa may be re-validated by the Consulate if the fiance is not yet married. The re-validated visa will still expire the same date as the original, and you must be married and file for Adjustment 90 days from the original first entry. As part of this process, you will probably fill out another OF-156 non-immigrant visa application and pay another visa application fee.

FAQ Note: Revalidating a K1 has been done only once in the newsgroup experience, early in 2000. The Consulate was unwilling to cooperate, and help from the US Citizens Congressional Representative was required to achieve success. The Representatives office contacted the State Department to verify the situation regarding revalidation. Correspondence between the Representatives office and the Consulate helped assure the revalidation. The revalidation process took about two weeks.

A good general date will be efficient.

As for the name, I would recommend that it be fully updated. Along with that you should use the Mother's current name.

Depending on where you live you may be able to go online and order it. I ordered mine online I am from PA I just searched on google Pennsylvania Vital Statistics, from there I ordered it online it cost me a few dollars and I rushed the order got mine in 3 to 5 days. It will be sent to you certified where you have to sign for it that was my biggest issue since I was at work during the day.

Yes everything must me scanned and printed for your K1 Petition. If your scanner is not so great I would recommend taking it to a store where you can make copies. It might cost you a few dollars but it will be worth it.

Make sure that you scan every page of your passport if you are going to use that. If not then scan front and back of the birth certificate.

It says "If self-employed, I have attached a copy of my last income tax return ...". I guess this does not apply to persons that are employed.

I'm not understanding why this is odd, haha. I HATE airplane rides myself, and can tolerate them a lot easier if I have company as well. It's no fun to sit on an airplane for like 15 hours alone watching the same movies over and over again. wink.gif

You're right it is nice to have a friend by your side. I just thought it was odd to have someone randomly asking here on VJ. Maybe if they knew a few of the people here really well that is more understandable.
