National Visa Center (Dept of State)Validity of Police Certificate for NVC...

Be careful--6 months to a year is simply not true depending on the country. You said in your original post that it is good for 90 days in Laos--EVERY country is different, so please do not take a generalization as the gospel. If it is 90 days, it is not 6 - 12 months.

Good point of view and very good advise. We will get a new police certificate.

Every consulate is different. We are going thru Costa Rica and they told us to not worry about an expired police certificate since we can get a new one the same day we request it if it is expired by the time we get our interview--that may not be true everywhere, so ask your consulate.

Thank you for the advice…I will consult this situation with the Vientiane Consulate for recommendation if they require a new Police Certificate?

I'm pretty sure I130 is very similar to I129f petition. My fiance at the time had to get a new one because she obtained one too early within the process. If that is the case, you have to get another one if it's expired. I would not risk the chance the Consulate telling you it's expired and to get a new one. Save yourself the headache especially if he/she does not reside within the Vientiane Province and needs to get travel back to her Police District within her HOM/Province.

Thank you for the advice…

I-130 petitioner, my wife has already obtained a Police certificate from Vientiane, Lao with validity of 90 days from issuing date. We are preparing our self for NVC steps… My question is how long it is valid from the NVC’s point of view, if the police certificate has already expired, would they accept an expired police certificate? Please advice.

Europe & Eurasia (except the UK and Russia)WAITING for Interview at US Embassy in Ankara...

I think you can start and try make an appointment, but if you find a free appointment you should pay and its not refundable.

One more thing, in that time we started trying (after getting Embassy confirmation) they had our information in their system, when I logged-in https://usvisa-info.com by my Passport number and Date of Birth (beneficiary) the website conduct me to a page it had my information like my name and family name, so I have no idea about the case which embassy havent received the package yet.

in my experience making an appointment in Ankara totally take 4 month in average from the date you got your NOA2 confirmation.

Hi friends, We are waiting since September 10th , we check 2-3 times a day but still no news.

Once on Sep 26 I found open appointments for Sep 30 (appeared for few minutes), it means just 5 days to interview, but it wasn't possible for me to arrange for a trip to Turkey and also preparing the requested documents.

So still we are waiting and hopeful to opening in first days of October.

IMBRA Special TopicsAWA risk assessement and polygraph

I have trouble understanding how our petition adjucators can disregard documents from a licensed psychologist? If USCIS disputes a licensed psychologist then shouldnt they offer to send me to one of their own?

It would be like me, telling a doctor of medicine that he is wrong when i am not a doctor of medicine. So my question is, who are they to determine by just reading documents that a psychologist (appointed by my state) word, isnt good enough for them? Seems like that type of thinking would not hold any legal weight for USCIS

I'm not sure but in the state that I live in, not all licensed psychologist are qualified to conduct a risk assessment in relation to a rehabilitated former sex offender (RFSO). It is the same way with polygraph examiners. Both must be licensed by the state.

Using the same line of reasoning you used for doctor of medicine: Not all doctors are the same. Your family doctor that has been treating you all these years may suggest that you see a specific specialist if your medical situation is beyond what the family doctor can handle.

You should first establish that the credentials of your license psychologist is in line with what your state requires in relation to RFSO. I would do the same thing with your polygraph examiner.

I just found out yesterday that I'm in the same battle. Be strong. Stay the course!
