He that your only pet? I am not much for the responsibility of a pet. I can't even make my mind up about a kitten and we had the opportunity for an adorable one, it was free, but I declined. I just can't take on any additional finances or commitments right now sad.gif

I always wondered what color hair our child may have and the texture.. he has that real ethnic jet black, unruly, tight curly, coarse hair and I have straight as a pin, thin, light blonde hair.

I could use some positive vibes and extra prayers.

Last week it was my oldest daughter who was sick now it is my youngest. Poor little dear has to miss out on today's festivities because she is in the final week of school and everyday they have a theme and do something really cool with the kids. Thank God she got her audition out of the way for Annie yesterday. I hope she gets the lead role of Annie.
She is so spectacular and has the perfect hair and personality for the part. My little redhead...even at 9 she still managed to keep her color and all the women fuss over it.

Charles, nothing doing today for the movies but last night I saw an old favorite. TRUE ROMANCE. That had quite a bit of top actors in it...Christopher Walken, Gary Oldman (my all time fav), Dennis Hopper, and that guy from Sopranos...what is name oh, James Gandolfini and Brad Pitt, I think both of them had their start in that movie.

Blah Blah Blah....just another day
Last night hubby and I tried a Moroccan place for dinner last night. A little pricey. There are about 3 different ones around here. One is Casablanca, then Marrakech and now this Fez. Well I had been the first 2 and they are without a doubt a wonderful true Moroccan experience. The ambviance, the 7 course meal, the belly dancers, the music, the whole bit but this other place....not good. It was my husband's first time too and I was so excited for him to try a "moroccan" place but you know what it was so lousy..so lousy in fact that I complained about every dish that I tasted and I couldn't even eat the dessert or drink the mint tea and I love both of those things! wow.gif
I was really upset about it. They all serve the standard 7 course thing so I was able to compare it to the others and it just sucked. But we joked and laughed about it....you live and learn. Sometimes it is best not to go out of your way to try new places and just stick to what you know, ya know?

DO NOT LISTEN TO HIM!!!! You gotta bring something. Everyone LOVES gifts! My husband always tell me this. "Don't bring anything...just you", I never listen.

Someone mentioned OTC medication. I think this is a great idea. They have different meds in Egypt. Simple, cold medicine is a big hit. Whenever Ahmed get's sick, he is convinced it's the flu, truly he has no idea what the flu REALLY is.

For my SIL, I too, brought bodywash, lotions, hair color, some cute tops and make up. Oh and a purses...she loves them. Which I don't know why, cause I have seen some SUPER cute (fake of course) purses in Egypt.

I always bring things to represent the Twin Cities or Minneapolis/St. Paul. Keychains, magnets, t-shirts/jerseys.

Just make sure you bring something. You can't go empty handed.

OK, so several people have said chocolate, but wont the chocolate melt on the plane?
It will "fly" fine!!!

I usually take See's chocolate and gum. They love our chocolate so I know it's always something that fits easily in my luggage. I take makeup, fingernail polish and cologne to his sis and mom. There's just something about our lipstick. They love it. Took some shirts for his brother.

Wael's dad is a huge fan of the WWE so took him a calendar. He was so thrilled seeing ALL his wrestlers!

I had recently returned from a trip to Egypt in Nov 2003 and was checking out the pyramid cam and one link went to another etc, so ended up meeting a person from one of these sites associated with Egypt. What I found out it was an international chat site. So I found myself "going" to the North Africa/Egypt area. Wasn't too long when Wael came on, said hi and then nothing! Being new I thought I did something wrong...pushed wrong button, clicked something, but nope it was just him waiting for me to start the conversation. Found him to be somewhat shy and really didn't know what to say to him. We began what was at first just a friendship. Over the next two years I knew he was my sweetheart and didn't want to be away from him. He was so kind, interesting, smart, funny and optimistic about everything that had to do with life.

I made my second trip to Egypt to meet him in Oct 2005 and stayed only 2 wks. I didn't want to leave.

After my return to the states he told me he wanted to ask me something. I waited and waited. Again I thought he had left the chat or I had clicked on something, but it was just he was so afraid to ask me to marry him. Finally I said "Wael, just spit it out"!!!!!!!!!! I think I woke him up and he laughed and laughed at me. So finally he asked me to marry him and I said yes. I heard this HUGE sigh of relief!!

Went back to Egypt again in Sept 2006 and we married Oct 28, 2006. Stayed with him for 4 months. Came back to the states, but returned to Egypt again in Sept 2007. I kept telling him this time I wasn't leaving until he went back to the states with me. He got his visa Nov 1, 2007 and we came back together Dec 23, 2007! He's just my love.

Went to Egypt 4 times. Had a typhoid immunization first 3 times, then the oral typhoid vaccine the last time. Other immunizations were MMR, tetanus and the Hep series. Those immunizations were given at the Naval Hosp San Diego by their travel team who tell you what is needed to be safe.

Never did get sick!

I was surprised that using your headlights at night is "optional"!!!!!!!!!!!! I was out of my
freakin' mind everytime I stepped foot into a taxi. Other than that I kinda knew what to
expect.

I tried briefing Wael about the states, so when he arrived it wasn't very much of a cultural
shock. But I must say he was still surprised about the "organization" of our driving. When he
called home, he went on and on about the driving and the cleanliness of America.
But my fondest memory of him is experiencing his first buffet! It was a shock that what I
actually told him was true....he could go back as much as he wanted!! He said Egypt would be
broke by the next day if they had buffets!! laughing.gif
