Middle East and North AfricaHello Saturday!

Good morning again! So happy it's Saturday. Have no idea why i'm up and
Wael is still in dreamland. Perhaps it's because I can't get away from my
coffee!! I can't get enough coffee....It's soooooooooo goood!!!

Welcome Candace! Hope your journey will be hassle free. Almost sounded
like Hasslehof!!! laughing.gif Jeanne no more coffee today.

No rain last night. crying.gif Am so tired of these 100+ temps. Not much one can do
outside. Activities seem to halt. Run from one a/c to another a/c. Well, December
is not too far off and then cooler weather!! Relief is in sight!!

Wishing everyone a restful and peaceful weekend! Take care.

Cut off his arabic tv NOW! No money anymore for him. If he wants to eat charge him. Be a freaking resturant. Throw away his clothes that are in the dirty clothes hamper. Do nothing, I mean absolutely nothing for this guy. Let his arabic friends take care of him. I'm sure in about 10 mins they will be sending his sorry buns back to you! Madea is my hero!

Kat i'm so sorry you are still going thru so much pain. if I was you I wouldn't delay one minute in obtaining an attorney. He has things figured out, so now it's your turn to be one step ahead of him.
He isn't helping you nor contributing to the household. He has his source of income from his mom, so that's not a big problem for him. He can basically do what the hay he wants with no conquences.

Kat please don't put up with this anymore. Get yourself a lawyer and protect yourself.

I love you sweetie. Just get your head on a little straighter. You know what you have to do.

Best of luck!

Hey, I hope everyone is doing well! My daughter and I made it to Egypt last night... and I know it for sure, because a toktok just drove by blaring a sax rendition of "Happy Birthday" jest.gif Anyway, it is hot here, but I was expecting that. It doesn't seem to be bothering Abigail much, which I'm glad for. I think the thing she's missing most is our DVR and Nickelodeon. Being with Ahmed again has been worth the misery of the flight, but it is certainly a different dynamic being here with a kid. This was kind of my retreat before, now it's just like being at home, except two people are asking me for food instead of one tongue.gif

Happy you made it! How did your daughter enjoy the flight? Know you are happy to be with your
hubby!!! Have fun!!

Mornin.

Hey Donna. GG...only ONE WEEK LEFT!!!! Give em hell girl! good.gif
Angel have fun at the beach girlfriend.

Opinions...what if you found out that your 16 year old son got his learner's permit without your knowledge or consent?
What if you someone you knew told you they saw him driving in the car with his grandfather (ex's dad) and you didn't even know he had gotten the permit because you and your ex would not sign for him.
So now i know that against our wishes, BLATANTLY, this old man took MY son and posed as HIS PARENT/LEGAL GUARDIAN after we firmly stated to both of them it wasn't going to happen! He got it 3 months ago.

To say I am beside myself these days it an understatement.
I pat myself on the back for getting up everyday, doing my work and not running away or having a nervous breakdown.

What he did was illegal and if it were me I would seek legal advice to see if any charges
should be filed against this man. Have you confronted your son yet? I would be very anxious
to see what his answer would be when you ask him how he managed to get his permit without
your or your ex's consent. Not a good thing he did. I would be livid. I would also hope your son
will take responsibiity for what he did. Best wishes and I hope very much you can resolve this
problem without alot of conflict from the grandfather or your son.

My family sent many, many, many packages from the US to family members in Cairo via regular US postal service that never ever made it to our desired destination in Cairo.

The system here def. sucks but oh the joy of receiving Bath and Body Works... or a comparable item. You have no idea the luxury of life we enjoy in the US until you try living in Egypt.... using the products here... from hygiene products to clothes, etc. - they absolutely do not even compare in quality... aah, how I miss the US. smile.gif

My favorite story is the friend who sent a fancy party dress to Egypt for her husband's little sister and it arrived about one year after she sent it... WORN AND DIRTY... Must have been a quasi-honest mailman with a daughter about the same size... LOL

I totally relate to you missing products from home. I saw some nice products when I was in Egypt but they are HORRIFICALLY expensive (even by American standards) and I also wondered how many years they had been sitting on the shelf because of the price... I simply tried to find a decent moisterizer for my face and had trouble...

However, I noticed that my SIL's etc. never really got all that excited about the bath products I brought them because they don't really use that stuff much and had nothing to compare with, so the fact that our products are so much better was probably lost on them. They did love perfume and make up... especially the kits (assortments of makeup etc.) that they sell around the holidays. Which fortunately are alot lighter than big jugs of liquid products. But the number one request for all the years I've been going is VITAMINS. And now Glucosamin/Chondroitin (sp) for everyone's bad knees and Fish Oil... they are getting sophisticated... LOL Dang those Costco bottles of pills are HEAVY!

Same request here!! They also requested Ester-C. I left a couple bottles there with them and
they swear it's some magic potion!!

Middle East and North AfricaI have a quick question about packages to Cairo
After I sent one small package to Wael, he had to pay when he received it more than it was worth I said no more sending anything thru their mail system. When I went to Egypt I just took with me the gifts I wanted to give his family. Did this 4 times and saved peace of mind and having to pay for items that the postal service charges dearly for. What a huge rip off. This was in Alexandria. So doesn't just happen in Cairo.

We have decided to just wait until one or both or us return again to Alex to take his family
gifts. It's a shame to have to think this way, but it's the only way we can be sure of his family
not having to pay outrageous fees for the gifts. Don't want them to have that stress.

Am so sorry Betsy to hear that his friend did that. I certainly understand your frustration.

Good luck!

Good morning everyone! What a beautiful Sunday. It's hot (what's new) but still a
beautiful day.

Have begun to take on the task now of gathering all our documents to file our
removal of conditions next month. Can't believe the day is coming closer to doing
it!! Will be happy when it's complete. What stress level are you on? Mine is about
18 out of 10!! I believe if one can complete the visa process from start to finish
you deserve a medal. Doesn't it seem like something gloomy is always hanging over
your head!!!!!!!! Always feel as if I have a UFO above me and will zap me to knowhere
if I forget something related to the visa process. Yep, I think i'm a little stressed
now with this ROC coming up. But i'm sure we will do fine....well i'm hoping we will do
fine...yikesssssssssss I don't want to have a RFE!! Please God just let me finish with
the USCIS sometime in my lifetime.

On that happy note I leave everyone with best wishes for a fantastic day! Have fun!

Morning everyone! Happy Wednesday to all!! Actually had to ask Wael what day it was!

We were blessed with a few raindrops, thunder and awesome lightning last night!! Is to
be 109 today. Am happy no one waited for me to discover Arizona! Poor Annie has to put
up with 113 today!

Wael had "snake" dreams last night. So of course I took it upon myself to see what it
meant. Don't want any "bad omens"!!!!!!!! helpsmilie.gif helpsmilie.gif helpsmilie.gif Snake

"A snake, being the ages old symbol of evil or satan, makes it a bad omen to have one show up in a dream. To see a lone snake and feel threatened by it shows that you have a bad enemy that is even then working against you, it also a warning against bodily harm from an enemy. To dream of many snakes in a pit is the foreboding of much bad luck in love or business. Should you overcome and kill a threatening snake in your dream shows that you will overcome your adversary and win out. "

Goodmorning everyone, I just got back from Egypt last night. Such a long journey back to Kansas. I always hate to leave also. I spent some great times with my husband and met up with more of the family. His grandmother had been sick so we went to visit her, what a sweet lady. We spent 3 days in Hurghada at an all inclusive resort that was great to just relax. I know Ahmed needed it as he has been working so hard in the military. We flew there it was his first trip in an airplane he loved it. I told him the next time your flying will be to the states. We both smiled. Just a fantasitc trip but never long enough. He went back to the camp I went to Cairo and stayed with his sister and her husband that are in Egypt for a month, as he is working in Dubai. Had a wonderfull welcome there as I always do, brother in laws mom made a many foods and sweets. To top it off my husbands sister gave me a beautifull gown and some lovely perfume, body spray and a bear saying I love you. Im so greatfull to have such a wonderfull family in Egypt. Being there now 5 times makes me appreciate comming home, I can't even tell you how great my bed felt to sleep in last night.

Lemon bars yummy, I love sweets.

Have a great day everyone, 24 days untill Ahmed will finish the military, need our approval from USCIS soon, we all ready for NVC except his military completion papers and his passport. I gave him a complete duplicate packate of everything he will need at the interview, to save probally 85 dollars on DHL.

Welcome home Sandra!! I know you are happy also to be home. Glad you had a good time with your husband and his family. Good luck with your journey!!

Sandra were we on the same Delta flight that leaves at 1:30 am back from Cairo? blink.gif

I'm back now. I got home at 2:30 pm in Boise. Passed out presents, shared the wedding video and pictures, and pictures of the trip, took a shower, and went to sleep at 7:00 pm and slept until the 10:00 am the next morning. I was and am still so tired.

I got a text message today that Waleed sent in packet 3 finally with a self addressed return envelope to make sure they send the interview letter to his clinic in Hurghada.

I also want to tell every Wife married to an Egyptian that you never have to buy another visa again for Egypt. From my personal experience it is certain now that upon entry you show them your marriage papers and they stamp you for one month with a residency visa and you pay nothing. We went to the immigration office three time at three place each telling us unless I wanted Egyptian Citizenship we don't have to pay for a residency visa all I have to do is show my marriage papers. Upon leaving I showed them my marriage papers again and they stamped my passport with a departure visa that says Wife of an Egyptian and I payed absolutely nothing. It's a piece of cake! No one ever has to buy a tourist visa ever again if you just show them your marriage papers.

Welcome back Olivia! Yes you are right about showing your marriage license. When I would go to Egypt I always had my marriage papers available, however we also had purchased a residency
visa for 3 yrs. So it sure made it so much easier to fly thru Cairo without having to purchase a visa everytime. I never had a problem!

Again, welcome home!
