Does anyone watch the World Series of Poker? We don't watch it much anymore
with Wael studying so much, but was amazed at the winner....21 yrs old!!! He
decided on poker instead of college....his decision worked out!! Congratulations
on his skills at the table!

I'm so happy, tomorrow is the last day of Wael's second accelerated program! He has
accomplished 2 semesters in 7 wks!!!! Only has 6 wks left till the semester ends!
Ohhhh happy daysssssssssssssss!! Taking 18 units and maintaining an A is awesome!!
He's worked so hard. I'm so proud of him! good.gif

We have dark and dreary day today!!!!!!!!! How wonderful is that!!!!! I think it's gonna
RAIN!!!! Cactus, critters and Jeanne will be soooo happy!!

Afternoon everyone! A beautiful day here. To be in the high 70's!

Hope you're having a good day. I think everyone in the world has had
some kind of "ohhh I dread going to the DMV day!" Maybe the peeps who
work there also have days....ummm no don't think so! no0pb.gif

Our "Days at the DMV" included one of the workers telling Wael that
he would have to make sure that this "foreign document" Wael had given
him was genuine.....duhhhhhh it was his green card!! Would you believe
he actually called another worker "his supervisor" to examine his GC.
Wael calmy told the fellow that his GC was issued by the United States
and to his knowledge it wasn't considered a "foreign document!

I still remember the look on that fellows face trying and trying to find something
wrong. Finally they gave up and gave Wael his Arizona license!!!

Hollywood sure misses out on some great material!!

Why the younger man is looking for an older American woman? I think Jenn's nailed it. I wouldn't call it "taking advantage of" in the non-harmful cases, but more like one thing the woman brings to the table is financial security. It's an asset that she has. We don't normally talk of relationships that way. Instead we let things like 'college educated' or 'from a good family' do all the class sorting for us and pretend that it's just coincidence that Harvard girls don't generally marry construction workers. But it's really the same thing. It is nothing to be offended over, any more than you'd be offended at someone saying the Yale-trained doctor was a good catch. And it's also not a good thing to say at the consulate, any more than you'd meet the doctor's family and exclaim that you loved him because he'd buy you a big house.

The trouble is, from a visa standpoint, is that a healthy relationship superficially resembles one where the guy is just using the older woman and doesn't care about her at all as long as she gets him the visa.

Hope everyone had a great weekend. We've had rain in the evenngs now and what
a difference water can do!! Cactus and the palo verde trees are a goregous shade of
green. The mountains have lost their dull shade of brown and are beginning to turn green
also. I have a new little resident in our home. Somehow a baby lizard found its way inside
and he is somewhere hiding. As long as he isn't in the shower with me I am a happy camper!

coffee!! I can't get enough coffee....It's soooooooooo goood!!!

No rain last night. crying.gif Am so tired of these 100+ temps. Not much one can do
outside. Activities seem to halt. Run from one a/c to another a/c. Well, December
