Middle East and North Africa	scared but hoping	Adjustment is hard for anyone. I know you, like me, have lived outside the states and altho we knew we were coming home, it still was an adjustment. I always put myself in Wael's shoes when ANY issues arise. To us we take everything for granted....to them it is almost the end of the world simply coz they haven't lived, worked, traveled, or usually been outside their cities or villages. Try having a web cam for him to talk with his family and friends! He can talk on yahoo for free. I know right now you are not feeling well and it is so very hard to put anything out of the norm in focus!! But please don't despair sweetie....it's all a part of moving from one life to another...they are so afraid of leaving everything that they have ever known in their ENTIRE lives!! We just have to take one day and make it the best he can ever have!!! Then take the next day and do it over and over.... Then they'd be educated in a more diverse environment. Do your girls have a World History class? If so, they could have him come to their class to kinda do a "show and tell". Have him speak to the class about Egypt and if you have any artifacts, etc that he could bring to show the class also. You would have the greatest PR and what could be more thrilling than someone directly from that country!! Sweetie, just look at the positive you can bring and let the others be jealous!! I just wish you wouldn't worry and make yourself sick especially when this should be the greatest and most thrilling time of your life!! I know everything will be sooooooo fine!!! Middle East and North Africa	AP	The A/P is a long and extremely frustrating process. This guy also told my husband would be 1-2 months...is now 4 months... The DOS will tell you that he should have never given you this timeline as it usally takes around 6-7 months...Just hang in there with the rest of us on A/P as we do try our very best to help each other. Middle East and North Africa	NeverEnding Embassy Soap Opera	The immigration process has reduced me to only having two (2) brain cells left...one is lost and the other is out looking for it... 1. Package delivered by DHL 9/17/2007 2. RFE a joint sponsor a new police record and return Wael's passport for visa stamp 3. SOMEONE ELSE'S PASSPORT IN THE PACKAGE 4. Contacted embassy by phone telling them about the other poor guys passport in our package but unfortunately it didn't seem to matter to them 5. Going to the DHL office in person to tell them about the other guys passport in our package and they said "OHHHHHH THAT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME...WRONG PEOPLE GET WRONG PASSPORTS" 6. Sending email to the consul in Cairo to inform them about the other passport and asking for instructions in returning it to the embassy 7. NO RESPONSE TO OUR EMAIL FOR A WEEK 8. After no response for a week Wael took the passport to the DHL office and they promised they would return it properly to the embassy 9. Wael sent another email to the consul in Cairo letting them know he took the passport to DHL 10. COUPLE MINUTES LATER WAEL RECEIVED AN EMAIL FROM THE COUNSUL : We suggest that you return everything you have received by the DHL to the Embassy that explains the problem. We will take the necessary measures to return the passport to the applicant and check your case file and see if that letter is meant for you or to the other applicant. Middle East and North Africa	I'M GOING TO EGYPT !!	Arrived safely in Egypt!!! Had a great trip and is just so wonderful to see Wael again...Was a long trip...left Phoenix to London to Cairo then the ride to Alexandria....but just to see Wael's face in customs made it ALL worthwile....Hope our visa will come while i am here so he can return back to the states with me... We will post our adventures as they happen and hope we have NO more adventures like the one from the embassy!! Everyone take care and take care of yourselves...
