Good evening! Happy Saturday (almost Sunday) to all!

Wael is doing research at the UofA library so thought I would come on to see what's happening in MENA!

Andrea, Wael did better than me! He drove around for over 30 mins just trying to find a place to park...he was
so in the shopping mode. Looked around a few stores at the mall and we had a late lunch, then off to another
mall. Found some items for him for Christmas and a few other things that I will go back by myself to get.
As we were walking to the first mall, we noticed someone had literally stuffed their packages in their trunk and
the trunk had come open....packages all over by the car and the street. I wondered if someone came by and
decided they had "freebies"!!!!!!!!!!! Can you imagine coming back to your car and everything is gone!
Also, we were waiting for a lady in front of us to pull into this parking place. Just as she was going this other
car from the opposite direction pulled right into the space in front of her!!!!!!!!!! I thought...ohhh ***** what a way
to begin our shopping! She was screaming and honking her horn and thought she was going to get out and
take on the guy who got "her" parking spot! Got out of there as fast as we could!
It was nice to get home  Wael is already talking about going to the "after Christmas sales"!!!!!!!!! What a man!!!

Got new tires for my car today and had the brakes checked. I'm good to go!!

Wael has his appt for his GMAT testing Jan 6. He's a busy guy.

Sure hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Morning everyone!

Hi Mandy and Andrea! What a wonderful surprise he did for you Andrea! That was soooo thoughtful

Mandy, where are your parents flying in from? Hope everything will go without delays. That's a pain!

Wael has a mid-term today, then no classes for a couple days. He's so excited to begin his black
Friday adventure! Ohhh how I love all the noise, people, screaming kids...etc...etc..!! But hey....it's what
black Friday is all about

Enjoy your day! Be careful out there!! There are "turkey's among us" and they aren't the ones who gobble!
We have so many idiot drivers that it's such an adventure just to get out on the road! And to add to the
madness Tucson has begun to add roundabouts. Ohhhhh it's like what were they thinking! These peeps
have problems with 4 way stops....now roundabouts...ouch!! :help:

Good morning! Beautiful crisp day here in Tucson and we are lovin' it!!

Mandy, congratulations! Will it be possible for you to go ahead and marry once in Egypt?
Best of luck sweetie!!

Hey Andrea!

Speaking of cooking. My mom didn't cook much also. My dad was in the military and when she did cook
was when he was away for months at a time. She just didn't care for food. So was
kinda hard for her to cook when she didn't like eating. My dad being Italian was our chief cook! The man was
a master! Such opposites my mom and dad were. When my dad was away her fav quote "do we have to eat"!
I learned my cooking from him. We always included him in Mother's Day and he loved every minute! (L)

Do hope everyone has a great day! Wael is looking forward to Black Friday. Should be interesting!

Morning everyone! Beautiful Friday to all!!

Tammy, be sure to post your pictures of the house! Love the colors of the rooms you have
already done. I'm so happy you live close to your family.

Rosie, enjoy your vacation! Are you planning on going away?

Hi Andrea, Jenell, Olivia, Charles, Mithra, Amber, Batta, HG, and Jackie!

We will have Thanksgiving dinner out. I'm the diva this year...I don't have to cook!! Lovin' my new title

My family has always put their Christmas tree up on our birthday Dec 18! Started ages ago and we still continue
to do it. My mom and dad used to tell my twin and I that the tree was "our special birthday present"! We believed it
then and continue to believe it :luv: (L) (L)

Wishing everyone a beautiful Friday filled with happiness and love. Have fun!

Happy Caturday MENA!!! Hello ladies and Charles :luv: ..been away for a minute.. I pray everyone is well (L) anyway this morning I ordered my first set of mizmar... I can't wait to play them.. I have a flute, clarinet, cello, trombone, 2 keyboards and recorder.. I did have a cornet but it has air leaks :crying: I talked to habibi's sister yesterday online and asked her did she know I played music.. she said no :crying:    I mean after ALL this time one would think he would have told them.. I even left a tape of music that was inspired by God that I played.. I left it there in 2007.. he NEVER listened to it but at least he brought it back... he told them I sing.. I just asked him what are my children's middle names.. he doesn't know although I told him  I pray we are not called for an interview.. we would fail miserably and it's not my fault.. all I can say is wow :wow: :wow: :help: :(

One talented lady!!! Ohh hon, perhaps he just has too many things on his mind. Every so often gently remind him of the things he perhaps forgot!
Wael's brain is so overloaded that I have to point him to which door to go out!! He has alot of "deer in the headlight look"! I just hug him. :luv:

I'm saddened by what you are putting yourself through. Please heed the advice of these wonderful people here in MENA and
DON'T GO! Take your time, think and re-think of what is going on. Please don't get yourself in a situation where it's impossible
for you to return. First and formost THINK of your beautiful child. Can you really think of what your child will be going thru with
his temper? Save your money. If it's love, then it will survive without demands or tempers. You deserve much more and so does
your child. Take control of this situation and do what you KNOW is the right thing.

Sharifah, I know it's a letdown when one hears the dreaded words "AP. He was lucky they
told him as then you have some sort of timeline. I'm wondering if they are beginning to finally
tell people actually how long the process takes instead of telling them a couple weeks. First one I have heard of that they didn't say "2-3wks".

As you probably have read here how many of us from Egypt have waited and waited and never told it would be a long process.

I remember the CO telling Wael at his visa interview it should be "3 wks"....yeah right...turned
into 6 months! It's good to at least know and it could be issued earlier also!!!

Think positive hon. He will be here before you know it. Don't let it get you down!

Sharifah from what they told my husband, it seems that they send the case documents along with the passport through DHL.

Where do I go from here? He wont ever talk to me in any way, emails, phone calls, or texts. Will he ever? I dont know.
Maybe in a few days. I still dont understand what happened? Dont even know about his passport, I hope embassy will answer my email tomorrow, for I think they are off today . Where does one start over?
You put one foot in front of the other. Walk away, don't look back and in the end you will probably end up kneeling and thanking God that it saved you from a life of possible turmoil.

Beth, he can't cancel the visa process...only you can do that. Yes, he probably did go and pick up his passport or otherwise he would not be legal there. Don't worry about what he is or isn't doing.

You have to start worrying about you and what your future plans will be! If you think it's over, then it's over. If you think there is a chance of renewing your possible future together then I wish you the very best of luck.

You know I am fixin to vent...It has been over 2 months since we had the interview. I know others have waited longer and I do understand this. But none the less it does make me angry. I do not understand how other cases are different. It is the same damn procoess. I think what is good for one should be good for all. Hey I am glad it took some of you 4 days or 3 or even 2 weeks. Really....But I think its not right. Every flippin week its the same ol #######. I was just told today by DOS it could take 3 months, 6 months, she said we even have some for 3 years.....WHY? Why so dang long? My husband is clean and clear been in school all his adult life. Its been a month and the embassy still has not contacted my senator. I think I would have been ok if she would have never said no AP and it will be 2 weeks..and now 2 months later and AP..This no one knows ####### is just that #######. You would seriously think they would do these damn visa in order..People who applied after us got it months before us? Yesterday was our one year of being married spent it working, and being depressed. That goes to say I worked 2 jobs, paid my taxes, I don't ask no one for help, I do everything on my own. I don't rob banks, or sell drugs. And another thing I am sorry Paris Heart..really I want to cry for you as well. Try so hard to do things right and spend so much heart and soul in a relationship and at the end of this journey its lonley, and depressing. Wake up daily prayin to God to help you. I am wondering when is a good time to jump off a bridge and call it a year..

All I can say is you just have to wait. Two months is not long at all. Cairo usually will tell everyone that the visa will be issued in two-three weeks. Always turns out the waiting time is around 6-8 months. It's so frustrating I know. As you see here, there are many of us who have gone thru Cairo and we all waited and waited for months. I found that calling the DOS on a Thursday, I was able
to have more updates. Some were the same, some were more helpful, but all in all I still waited and
waited. You just have to have patience.

Hi Everyone....been MIA for a bit.

How's everything Lisa, Jackie, Kenza, Maureen, Aya, Sarah...anyone else I missed.

Sharifah & Beth...good luck to you both coming up!

I hope everyone is well. My husband and I are working hard on getting our photography business up and running. Found out we could buy studio equipment super cheap if we hit is just right on ebay...so that is a big help. I had an interview for a part time job on Friday and the woman was talking to me like I was already hired. She said that as long as my criminal background check comes back fine then I am hired. She said she would call me yesterday...but I didn't hear anything from her. What I am really hoping is that I can work the part time job and get enough photography business that I can quite this place I'm at now...too much stress and people throwing each other under the bus, plus calling each other names and cursing them out as soon as they walk out the door! Its nuts.

Anyway...hubby passed the written part of his driver's license test last week and now he just has the driving part...please pray for him. I think that will help him find a job much easier once he can say he has his license.

Take care ladies!

Good morning everyone! Beautiful day out. Being in the 70's here is such a blessing!!

Wael isn't feeling too good. Between his 7 classes and his new gluten free diet his immune system
is so down. Told him would see how he's doing today and then it's a doctor's visit if the same. He keeps
assuring me "he's ok"....yea right...stubborn Egyptian sweetheart....Thank goodness only 3 more finals.

Well I should have put myself on you tube video with my "gluten free breadmaking"....what a real laugh!
I'm not the baker at all and I have to say just having the bread come out is one of the 7 wonders of the world!!!
I had more than a mess and just didn't know what the heck to do with this dough as it's consistency is not the
same as regular dough...so brilliant me literally spooned it out of the bowl onto wax paper. Please don't laugh
as yes I am a real dork when it comes to anything that I have to use my hands to knead....wasn't a pretty sight...
Was going to "knead it".........Heavens it looked liked a beached walrus...all flabby and all over the wax paper...
I had the loaf pan ready for the "dough"...only prob....how the heck am I gonna pick it up and do something with it...
ended up I just picked up the wax paper and the dough kinda rolled off into the loaf pan with a "few" little tiny pieces
of wax paper "missing'....Ohhh heaven's....it was worth a thousand words when I told Wael just in case he had
something extra in the bread it was only wax paper  ...didn't bother him at all...
The bread actually came out beautiful and he loved it!! I worked a miracle. I really don't like baking now!! I have to
come up with another plan with the bread. I love when a plan comes together!! :D

Sure hope everyone is having a good day!! It's always great to have a good laugh!!!

TGIF MENA~~
Whoo hoo! So excited this week is over!! Getting close to when family will start arriving for the holidays!!
Going to our first holiday party tonight. It's to hubby's work christmas party. So now I get to put faces to the names of people he works with. Looking forward to it.

Jeanne~ I am so sorry Wael was so sick!! How in the world did he function??? I am glad he is feeling better, but man, What a pain going gluten free!! Has he been diagnosed with Chron's disease? I remember when my daughter found out she was lactose intolerant. It just about did her in! She couldn't handle anything with dairy in it. Whether it was cooked or not. Thank goodness they found a good medication she is taking that helps her. She definitely loves her cheese!!!
Jenell~ how ya doing girl??? Love the acronym for ROC!!! I would have come up with something not so nice!!!

Wendy~ that NOA2 will sneak up on ya just when you think it won't! Man, I remember those days!!! I definitely do not miss them! but I do so enjoy the people I met here on VJ!!

Ok hope all has a great day and wonderfull weekend!! Don't plan on doing much except finally wrap presents!!!

Morning Andrea! No, thank goodness he doesn't have Crohn's disease. It's just going to be a whole new way of eating for him. He just can't
believe how much better he feels with changing his diet. Keeping our fingers crossed!!! Thanks so much for your concern.

Good morning! Happy Friday to everyone! Awesome sunrise this morning. Will be another warm day at 78.

Wael is coming down to only a couple finals now! He kept saying "it's the final countdown", and of course
that song stuck in my head while going to bed! Poor guy has lost it and taking me with him

I had noticed Wael wasn't feeling well. Kept asking him what's the matter and he as usual never complains
said he was fine. Turns out he really was sick. He is now another one of the people who has to go on a strict
gluten free and lactose free diet. It's just terrible what he encountered and had two different opinions from the
doctors. Out went all the regular flour, sugar, canned goods, frozen vegetables, bread, etc....I was shocked how
many things contain gluten. I am now making gluten free bread in the bread maker, buying ALL gluten free foods
from pasta, rice, crackers, flour etc.....i've narrowed it down to 3 stores I can shop in and have to read everything
I buy. He also cannot have caffeine and also had to change his toothpaste. Poor guy was loosing weight, literally running to the bathroom, severe cramps,
and the beginnings of just not eating. I couldn't believe how he managed to go to all his classes, do his honors work (separate),
drive with being so sick and keeping his calm mannerisms. He just will not complain about anything and makes me crazy.
Now he's so much better, his color is back (he was almost an ashen) and his weight is coming back. What a difference!
I was so afraid for him. I thank God for helping me cope with something I didn't know nor know what to do to help him.
Afraid now it's no going out to eat. He misses his phillysteak sandwhich!! What an adventure!!!

Sure hope everyone is feeling alright and having a great Friday!!!
