Middle East and North AfricaChristmas in MENA in the USA
I was lucky to have the chance to spend 2 Christmas holidays in Egypt with Wael. He surprised me with decorations and a tree! This will be his 2nd Christmas in the states and he is excited again.

We will be away 4 days over Thanksgiving and already he is waiting for turkey and all the
trimmings!! He really gets into all of the holidays.

Hey guyssssssssss, Ayman got his drivers license today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeahhhhhhhhhh!!! I just thought I'd share that with ya!!

Annie....I hope her flight went well and she has a wonderful time loving those two little cutie pies of yours.

Kelly...seriously chic...sounds like you have tonsilitis. It will just keep getting worse if you don't get on an antiobiotic. Let me tell you something that my husband has started doing this week. Malek has slept in his own bed since he was about two months old. Well, this week Ayman has been getting him up if he whines a little bit and laying in our bed with Malek on his chest. He said he needs to feel the hug of me or him. I am totally taken back, yes baby's need to feel their parents love but I think he is going to make matters worse for him and not to be selfish but me too! Like Malek is taking a step back and having to be put to sleep not soothing himself. I don't know what to do I have tried explaining this to him but he doesn't get it!!!

Good luck Leyla on the job!!

Oliva...hey I think that most Egyptians are aware of their country having faults. You know they hear news stories about us sometimes before we even do. My husband has told me stuff days before I have heard a peep of it here. Every country is like this...you just keep learning what you can. I enjoy reading your posts.

Sheherazade...girlfiend, i need some of what you have!!!!

Sara...I still think our babies are related somehow!!!

HLM...you pour thing..I am telling you that it is so cold here I feel sorry for my husband. He was shaking almost uncontrollably this morning getting into the car. Stay warm chic!! I hope you don't get too bored waiting on hubby to get home!!

Jeanne...could anybody see the space station or just the peeps in Arizona???

Everybody take care and have a great night!!!!

Congratualtions getting his drivers license!!! I know he must be thrilled!! kicking.gif

Just a question, is cremation against Islam? He would want to be buried in Cairo but I want a part of him with me always you know? If he could be cremated then I could take a vile and have that for myself. Otherwise what about chopping off a finger and having that to bury? Ok that's gross but see the dilemma?

Absolutely fabulous day today. High today will be 80. We have a little shopping to do

The real test isn't the USCIS, it's the consulate. Good luck there, if I remember right you are going to need it.

yes.gif

Do they contact the exwife who got you here at all? I always wondered about that. I mean God forbid my husband did something like this I would hope the USCIS would contact me to ask what really happened. If not they really need some revamping.

I think I missed something.

He came here from Egypt because he married a USC. He fell in love with a gril from Egypt while married (cough cough), divorced the USC as soon as he was able to petition legally for the Egyptian and now got approved. I would hope that this would have sent a huge red flag to the USCIS and that they would have contacted the ex to hear her side of the story but I guess that's just wishful thinking on my part. Sorry I'm b!tchy today and not politcally correct. This stuff just rubs me the wrong way.

OHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, I get it now! My husband wouldn't have anything to petition a woman with if you know what I mean.....down the trash disposal with it and no Lorena Bobbit where he could find it later...I would DESTRUCT him!!!

Amen sista friend. My husband's a heavy sleeper so I'd lop that thing off and serve it to him for breakfast! devil.gif Hell hath no fury and all that.

Middle East and North AfricaMENA men and their family
I was with Wael in Egypt when he received his visa. We left almost 2 months later for the
states so I was happy he had this time to be with his family and friends. I think it definately
made a difference to be with them and say their good-byes, altho it was sad to see his family
with tears in their eyes everytime he saw them. He had never been away from home or his family.
It was difficult even for me to say goodbye knowing it might be a year or so till we could return.

Just let him do what he needs to do. Everything will be much better in the long run!

Ladies, just break down and go to your local professional trained in speedwaxing. I use a special Lavender Wax for sensitive areas and I'm quick & relatively painless. It lasts longer and, done properly, minimizes re-growth over time. You would not believe the horror stories I hear from women who try to do it themselves. Helz, I *know* what I'm doing and won't do it myself in that area! blink.gif

I wanted to do an anonymous poll of mena members to be able to post anonymously about what has happened in their relationships.

I will definitely tell you that with what I know now, I would have only sponsored a highly educated person, extremely fluent in English and on top of that, looking back at the red flags I saw all along, I would have still married within mena, but not the person I married. I think love makes us endure alot that we normally would never put up with with an american.

The visa process is exhausting . Not in a million years would I do it again.. for any amount of money.. this has been ridiculous for me and time exhaustive. I am curious to see if when we see flags in other peoples relationships.... if we are honest about our own or we overlook them

Internet infidelity in my book is a deal breaker yet I have seen over the last 2 years, people still with spouses who did it. What gives with our common sense? Why would any of us put up with this junk when we wouldnt accept it in Americans.

Not saying you love a person and neglecting them is emotional abuse NOT CULTURAL.. I am sorry. Why do we come up with all these complex cultural theories to explain crappy behavior? It puzzles me

I have been really loved by someone from MENA before ( it wasnt my husband) and he told me he loved me all the time, never hit me, always made me feel secure... never mistreated me.. He just couldnt legally stay here and his status was so messed up marrying me wouldnt have helped either.. so he had nothnig to gain. So I know all this bullshit about mena men not loving is a pile of #######. I get aggravated when I read this ####### about men not being loving with their wives,,, Its not cultural

read the book HES JUST NOT THAT INTO YOU...Cause thats the deal///not culture// Gees

God I must have looked like a dummy as I put up with more and more...
To those of you who everything is perfect.. THIS POLL IS NOT FOR YOU

Kat, I'm sorry... but *you* are exhausting - even more so than this damn process. wacko.gif You knew all this ####### before your husband got here, you saw all the red flags, and you chose to ignore it all. You think/thought that nothing anyone had to say was relevant b/c *we* all had our spouses here (not always the case, but you generalize like there's no tomorrow). Then once he got here, you realized that perhaps what we had to say was indeed relevant. Nothing like trying to regurgitate your big old shoe outta your own mouth, eh?
I know you've been through a lot, but I just have to say that IMHO you are one of the biggest damn drama queens I have ever had the pleasure of not meeting.
As for me, none of this stupid poll applies b/c yeah, my relationship is about as perfect as it can be. We could all use a bit more money, but my man treats my like his beautiful queen. *That* is a blessing.
Sorry for the rant, but it was high time someone said it................. whistling.gif

Love everyone
