Mornin' all ! Happy Wednesday to everyone. Wael and I watched the movie "Boy in the stripped pajamas" last night. Was an excellent movie, however a sad one.

It's going to be 74 today. Beautiful spring weather. Bought some beautiful Egyptian cotton sheets (1200 tc). They feel like silk Next purchase is a new duvet cover that matches the sheets.

I love cleaning when I can, but Wael will jump in and do anything that needs to be done. He's as particular about a clean house as I am so we have no probs when it comes to keeping things cleaned and picked up.
He also does the ironing if anything has to be ironed! I think he would iron everything if he could!
He's pretty much of a neat freak as I am.

Saturday he loves going to the market to shop. He is an excellent shopper...very frugal...loves sales and looks at sale papers for the best bargains. He knows what we need, goes thru the cupboards and the fridge and makes his list.

Lisa, have you thought about a slow cooker? You can make just about anything. Set it and walk away. At least you would have the main part of your meal finished and would just have to make
the pasta, rice or potatoes. I use mine for everything...chili, roast, sauces, soups, etc.

One thing I always try to do is plan a week of my meals. When I have the time to use the stove, I make food dishes and freeze them for "take it out and micowave it"!

I was never locked away or told to go to another room. My freedom there was just like it is here. I was free to go anywhere by myself and Wael never told me what I could or could not do. I met many people, went to the salon, went walking, shopped and was treated with respect and kindness.

Morning everyone! Quiet day here so far. Happy Sunday to all and hope your day is going well.

Hubby is still sleeping with the covers over his head. Birds are singing beautifully this morning.

Don't you just hate it when you are driving, someone is tailgating you, you are doing the speed limit,
they pass you at 100 mph and proceed to give you THE FINGER!! Yikes I was more than upset!

Don't know if your cities have it, but Tucson has "photo enforcement areas"....means SMILE
you are busted for speeding, run red lights, etc! So no way shape or form will I speed as don't want my pic taken.

It records your car, speed and picture. Then one day in the mail you get a courtesy reminder from the city along with a HUGE fine. I'm sure Tucson is making millions now since it was "enforced". Well anyway that's my rant for today!!

I myself don't smoke anything, but while I was in Egypt I did see many women smoke sheesha especially by the sea. Wael had ask me once if I would like to try it so I guess it's not that bad if a woman wants to smoke it in public. However only a couple times did I see a woman smoke a cigarette.

We would go to Green Plaza in Alexandria and many times I saw women co-mingled with men at the open coffee shops smoking sheesha. Do you think it could possibly be the area where women are?

One of Wael's co-workers asked him "what part of Europe is Egypt in?"!! Wael told him "by Norway".

Another co-worker asked him if his family was ok due to the bombings. Wael started to panic thinking he missed the news and Alexandria was bombed. The co-worker was referring to Mumbai.

We should write a book.

I've had people ask me how "my tent" was....how were the camels....stupid, stupid, stupid, ignorant people!! They couldn't believe it when I told them Egyptians ACTUALLY have silverware, glasses, cups, bathrooms, malls and the best one....a freeway system, but really gotta watch the camels... laughing.gif

Altho we would love to give you a timeline it unfortunately doesn't work like that. There are no fast or furious answers to applying in Egypt or in the states!

If you want to live in Egypt then I suggest going for the DCF. Our process lasted a year and we did a DCF.

This process is neither easy nor fast.

Squanto (1585?-1622), Native American of the Wampanoag tribe of what is now Massachusetts. Good morning and happy Sunday! We are back from our trip and must say Wael had a great
adventure!!

We drove to northern Nevada from Tucson, via Phoenix (waved to you Annie) and Las Vegas. Went thru Hoover Dam and then Vegas. He just couldn't believe he was seeing it in real life! From Vegas it was literally out in the middle of nowhere. I told him to watch for the UFO's out here! He thought I was serious!!

He was amazed at the wildlife, the wide open spaces with cattle, wild horses, and snow on the mountains! He was in cowboy country! Loved the cowboy hats.

My family fell in love with Wael !! Usually he is so quiet but they had him talking as much as them.
Don't think he had ever talked that much in his life. My twin didn't want him to leave! She was so
fascinated with him and his knowledge of the states.

We had a great Thanksgiving and do hope you did also, but it's great to be home.
