No no.... 5 weeks to issue a Case Number. I should have clarified that. Took them a week after approval to recieve it from California. in your timeline you say Second checklist response arrives at NVC MAY 5th.... does that mean received by tracking or was that the day they scanned it in?  I know mine was received by the tracking number, I hasn't been scanned yet... I'm on hold now because they told me to call and ask for the supervisor on Wednesday night. Yea it took 5 weeks for me to get mine as well. I was just happy it was under the 30 business days. Following the timelines really helped me to know when to expect mine. Just realized someone asked what I just asked lol. 2 days?!?!?!??!?!? That's A-MAZING!!!! You'll get a Case Complete soon I'm calling Friday to see if my revised AOS has at least been scanned and if my IV Package has been accepted. My heart will break if I get another checklist. (this time I tried speaking with someone in Spanish) and they are more arrogant and stupid than the ones who answer the phone in English.. He said "Ma'am We have NOT sent you the payment package you have toooo wait".. and than I tell him that in other cases as soon as they have their case # and IIN # they can log in why can't I...It's been a week already.. He said " I don't care about other cases ma'am you can't go by other cases you have to go by the rules and it takes 10-20 days to b able to log in"....    well than eff you !!!!! You can track it with DHL.................Wow it weights 6.7 pounds     Oh this is kind of cool... So they just emailed you the tracking number so you could look it up? Crazy that all those papers come from their original countries to America and back to those countries back into our hands. There has to be a better way to this process. Last night he said he should have gotten a certified copy at the same time he got the Marriage certificate.    Who knew the Original would be such a problem.    People are starting to ask me at work why isn't my husband here yet....   Its starting to annoy me. I am so happy I am married but I am afraid to mention it because it requires so many explanations... I'm sad today..( more than usualy)       Story of my life...   Every single day of my life I am asked the following questions, "So when is your husband coming? What do you mean you don't know when he is coming? When will you find out then?" I bought a home about 5 months ago so that I could renovate and everything would be ready for him when he arrived so now they follow up with , "So when will the house be ready? When will you move in?" and I don't have an answer to any of those because I am not moving in WITHOUT HIM but I still don't know WHEN HE IS COMING!!!  And then they have the nerve to say, "You seem so upset and irritated." We adopted from a shelter who rescued her and her 3 kittens found under a tarp last December from the cold. Due to the freezing temperatures, she got frostbite and lost the tips of her ears. But her and her babies survived (and were later adopted). It was her turn to finally get adopted Her original name was Topanga, but we (or rather, I  ) changed it to Catniss   Are you eventually going to adopt a Peeta so Catniss is not lonely? She was nice and told me that NVC is actually working on the mail received April 16 and that they can spend 2 days in one day's mail. so go figure! I've never heard of anybody telling us what day they were working on! I hope that she was not just trying to blow me off! Grrrrrrrrr, more wait!!!!!!!!   They are only working on the 16th? Well it is good news in the sense that they should have my IV package reviewed by Friday. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - May 2014	This is random, but I was wondering where everyone met their spouses?  We have a huge variety of countries on this thread. I am wondering  how everyone got together.. my husband was here on a tourist visa and was living with a mutual friend. I got laid off one spring and had some time on my hands so I  went to hang out with my friend and there he was.  We were friends for a year before we moved to BF/GF status.  I met him only 4 months after he arrived in the US. He didn't speak a word of english. I used to bring him books so he could try to study english. I took him to NYC, Atlantic City, the Jersey shore for motorcross on the beach, the philadelphia Zoo, Amusement parks and countless trips to the mall.  HA HA Museums and restaurants.. I could go on...   Love this question!    The hubby and I know each other since we were kids but we never paid attention to each other (my aunt actually introduced his parents and his mom used to hang out with my dad when they were teenagers in Portugal). My entire family, except for my parents, live in Portugal so I would go every summer. Summer 2007 all the teens and kids in our age group began hanging out at the pool and beach and the hubs and I started chatting. I knew after an entire afternoon at the beach with him one day that I was in trouble lol. I changed my ticket and stayed the whole summer in Portugal. We basically chatted for an entire year (there was some drama in between with other females lol) and when I came back Summer of 2008 we became official. Our families were ecstatic.   We dated long distance for 5 years. He would come in the winter for a month and I would go for the entire summer. As a school teacher I have the summers off so it sort of worked lol. We got married this past summer in Portugal and about half of our guests flew from NJ to Portugal (many of them being Portuguese so it was a vacation for them). I wonder if when you press 2 the guy and the girl who speak to you on hold and trick you into thinking someone is picking up the phone also speak Spanish lol. They said they wanted some additional information but we can bring that to the consulate and completed to the case!!   Congrats to everyone who has gotten case complete and good luck to those who are very close! Now I have to see if its too late for the Mumbai consulte and a June interview date.   What other information did they ask for that you could bring to the interview if you don't mind me asking. Max answered and he was very polite and sounded a bit tired. I asked about my IV fee again and he said a supervisor is scheduled to look into it as per my call on Friday. Unfortunately I forgot to ask how long that would take. I was too thrown off that he knew about my call on Friday lol He also said its been paid so no need to worry. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - May 2014	So everyone is complaining that this thread is so quiet today  so I thought I would make some noise..   FINALLY.... they accepted my corrected AOS and removed the Police certificate requirement. Now all I am waiting for is the supervisor to clear the birth cert.   I was told by the supervisor to call back Wednesday  night... so now I wait... and for extra insurance.... a certified copy of the birth cert will be delivered tomorrow morning.    I'm so close I can taste it..    So how's that for some noise?????? Whooo... Congrats girl! So question, how long did it take from you sending your revised AOS to them accepting it? My paralegal made the same mistake as yours...ugh. My IV package was scanned 2 days after yours. I'm going to follow you to see when they review yours lol. My revised checklist was only sent Thursday. The "codes" (which are also confusing - you'll see once you get the interview letter) indicate if you're missing anything and what needs to be brought to the interview along with that letter. I would definitely call the NVC back and keep hounding them.     I think that Police Reports are now valid for at least 6 months.  If they are valid until mid May and you do get a case complete then, you will still have to bring new ones with you to the interview. Are they difficult to get in Portugal?   Not difficult at all. The Police Record states it is only valid for 3 months, however, the issue is getting it to me. He sent some documents express mail and certified and it took longer than regular mail. I would check its status online and it was just sitting at JFK airport for a week. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - May 2014	Yep, called this morning but I didn't expect anything new since I called around 10pm on Friday night. They are alot of things, but SUPERMAN is not one of them. I will allow them today to get a move on. I will call tonight.   I talked to Cindy. She told me she could see that the file was with a supervisor for the requested review and made a comment that "at least the file is where it is suppsed to be"   I guess they see alot of mistakes ... I hope they ( at the very least) accept my corrected AOS. Then its just the police cert removal and for someone with half a brain and decent eyesight to accept the original birth cert we sent.  I am sending the certified copy once I pick it up at FedEx this afternoon. jsut to be safe.  but they should absolutely accept that cert. This is just ridiculous.  Oh and Cindy agreed with me that since the reviewer went ahead and checklisted us for a police cert taht wasn't even required, they probably didn't have a clue what they were looking at for the Birth cert.   I pray that they supervisor fixes these problems and I get a CC soon !!!   I am angry that we have to pay for their mistakes.  Time is so valuable these days.   Hang in there girl! Still no change. Hope something happens this week.     Its been 12 days and they haven't reviewed your new I-864 yet? I was really hoping it would be a little quicker. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - May 2014	Hey guys-- just got told I have case complete. However! They completed the case without my AoS checklisted information...   I was checklisted the first week of April on domicile for me, and the standard discrepancy on income for the tax transcript for my joint sponsor. I sent the document on April 10, it arrived April 12, and they noted its arrival in the system on April 17.   However, they did not open the package, I was told on the phone, and completed the case on May 1st. I was told that I was going to get a new checklist for this information on Monday, and that they would send the packages BACK to me, and that my wife has to bring it to the interview.   Has anyone heard of this before? It seems super weird. I want my Case Completed too while they wait for my revised AOS lol. This is interesting. I too wonder if this is common. Congrats by the way! Another step closer. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - May 2014	Hello everybody,   We called NVC yesterday to ask whether we have a Case Complete and Agent Tori (very friendly) said "I will give you an even better news, your interview is scheduled for June 2". We couldn't believe it. She said she totally understands how relieved we must feel and how exciting it must be to see the NVC process come to an end and have the date for an interview.   No Case Complete email or Interview Letter yet but it is exciting none the less.   Thank you everybody who knowingly or unknowingly helped me through the process. I am sure that this path would have been a lot longer and lonely without the information and support from VJ members. So a big Thank You once again.   Also, Congratulations to everybody who have recently completed this process and good luck to all who are still in the process or waiting for a response from NVC.   This brought tears to my eyes.
