Personally I wouldn't really rely on Igor's list or VJ Timelines..... I got approved when I was #59 on Igor's list and July 10th was proccessed on VJ Timelines and mine is July 22 smile.gif

So just keep praying and your will come when its that time!!!!

Jen, u re truly blessed to have such opportunity to see Bo. I'll have to put off all my grand redocorating plans for couple more months smile.gif.

I wish I could go to US for a visit too, but obtaining a tourist visa in Ukraine can be problematic, considering that I just came back six month ago smile.gif. Well, Dave is planning to come down here, so my parent can throw us a proper engagement party smile.gif. My fam. adores him, so we all can't wait.

Noticed we'd slipped down Igor's list so an updated list. Only March, April and May have changed since the last update. 2 added in March and 12 for April!!!

November = 26 Filers; 24 with NOA2 (92%), 1 with no accessible profile and 1 who hasn't been online since 7th November.

December = 62 Filers; 59 with NOA2 (95%), 1 with RFE pending, 1 waiting on NOA2 and 1 who hasn't been online since 3rd February.

January = 81 filers; 80 with NOA2 (99%) and 1 who hasn't been online since 23rd January.

February = 99 filers; 87 with NOA2 (88%), 5 with RFE pending, 2 waiting on NOA2 and 5 who haven't been online since May.

March = 81 filers; 46 with NOA2 (57%), 1 RFE pending and 34 waiting on NOA2.

April = 67 filers; 1 with NOA2 (2%) and 54 waiting. The 1 approval was an expedite though.

May = 34 filers; everyone still waiting at the moment.

Hopefully this will keep everyone's spirits up, although there hasn't been any change on Igor's list this week.......YET!!!

Going to PM the filers from right back to November who haven't been online for a while in the hope it generates and email to them telling them they have a PM so they can come along and update their timelines and move us down the list!!!!!

We actually moved up earlier today compared to yesterday. Well, trying not to pay much attention to that, since there are still you April guys ahead of us smile.gif. I am really hoping this is the month for you folks!

Now imagine if we all could simply pay a fee and have the process expedited smile.gif. There prolly would be a backlog of such expedites, cause, man, I would take two more jobs to cover whatever fee they might charge just to be closer to my baby!

So, how is everybody doing this Tuesday? It's finally summer in full bloom here in Ukraine, so I'm about to get off my laptop and go see the world behind my window. Gotta keep myself busy.

Actually, just found smth to do while we wait for the approval. Will have to go and get all my certificates for the embassy. People, wish me luck with Ukrainian burecracy. For somebody who recently came back from the States, I'm on course for a major culture shock smile.gif.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresGetting Married
There are indeed many cases where ladies kept their maiden name. Some don't want to go through passport and other document changes, some feel they already gave up a lot for a new life in America and keep it for sentimental reasons, for some it is, as mentioned, a tradition. I don't see how that will effect your petition or cause any problems later on. If you have enough proof of a legitemate marriage, I doubt the issue of having different last names will be raised star_smile.gif And if it is, you can always explain your reasons, right? smile.gif

We had the same problem for both my addresses and employment history. My fiance checked with USCIS directly and they adviced us to add extra sheet. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresA few I-129F Questions
QUOTE (M3wThr33 @ Jun 23 2008, 05:04 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I finally got the final papers I needed from fiancée, mainly the signed G325A and the letter of intent. I already had a passport style photo of her that we took recently.

Anyways, the questions.

1) As for proof, I just want a confirmation of having good enough stuff. (Completely subjective, I know. I guess I want to know if you would feel safe with this.)

5 photos of us. Dated, located and named on the back. 2 of them will have accompanying copies of dated pairs of ticket stubs. (1 concert and 1 movie theater) Do those matter at all? There's no names on them, but dates and the fact that there's 2 of them.
Her W-2 from when she worked at a nearby restaurant.
A pair of voided checks from Washington Mutual, to show we bank together? Same bank, but different nearby branches.
Named and dated baggage claim ticket stubs from Southwest Airlines from our trip to California.
Paystub showing date and address of other job she had
I also have dated checking statements showing her ATM withdrawls and other random shopping things near me, including paying for rent in my apartment complex.

And for the hell of it, I'll throw in 2 printed emails from GMail between us and a screenshot of a few days worth of Skype calls.

Outside of that, there's not much more I could get unless I resort to letters from friends and family or something.

1b) I can't really think of anything else that has our names together, aside from that one flight. We drove most of the time. Also, is this more about proving she was in my area or with me? It seems like I covered both of them, but not in the same piece of evidence.

1c) This would be so much easier if I could just send video somehow. I can't send a DVD or anything, right? Has anyone tried? I have craploads of videos recorded with my phone. I could easily convert them into something playable. Flipbook?

2) Why are so many people sending in foreign birth certificates and passports when it doesn't seem to be required? Covering bases? I have a scan of her first page, but that's about it. I have a feeling if I get an RFE, from what I read, I'm going to need to get that from her.

3) A standard 9x12 manilla envelope is fine to send this in?

4) Any special Russian things I should worry about? (I guess not right now for the first step...)

5) I've only been employed since February of this year, so I've never filed any tax returns. (Yes, 24, I finished college and spent a year sick) I make about $45,000 annually, not including overtime, plus I'm getting a raise next month. I just bought a new car and have a credit score of 792. I've had the same checking account at Washington Mutual for the last 6 years. By the time of HER interview, when this comes up, should I look into getting my dad as a co-sponsor?

6) Just to be sure, is it ok to write with pen on the G-325As? On what Katia sent me, I used "--" instead of "N/A" on the form and wonder if I should write over it.

Thanks for your time. Tomorrow I'll get some of the post-it note arrows so I can properly point this stuff out on the proof.

I assume you are sending the petition for K1, not K3, right? Thus, your evidence is a bit of overkill. Save excessive prove for Katia to take to the embassy. All they need at this stage is proof that you two have met in the last two years. If it helps, all we sent was couple pics together, boarding passes from the trip we took to Jamaica last September and our Carnival Cruise IDs showing same cabin from last year smile.gif. If she lived/worked near you and you spent some time dating, just pics, boarding passes for the same flight and adjoining seats should be plenty to prove you've seen her at least once. Do not send anything multimedia, and your concerts/movie stabs are no proof, since there are no names. Loose those, but to give yourself peace of mind, keep the emails and skype chat log smile.gif.

Do not worry about her birthcertificate either smile.gif

Am not sure about writing on the signed form, mabye somebody else will be more helpful

As to co-sponsor, evaluate your income against the poverty guidelines in effect when your petition will be approved and decide if you are short and need a co-sponsor.

Best of luck = Udachi smile.gif

I assume you re filing for K1, right? What they need at this stage is evidence that you two have met in the last two years. As was mentioned, pictures are secondary evidence. What you need to include is evidence like boarding passes for the flights to see each other. If you don't have those, include the copy of passport stamps. As an example, we showed our IDs from the cruise line with the same date and cabin number and boarding passes for our vacation trip that showed same flight/date and adjoining seats. Anything that shows you two were at the same place at the same time will work. Save proof of on-going relationship (charts, emails, pictures) for the interview. Yes, you can include couple emails/pictures, but don't go overboard. Best of luck and a speedy approval!!!

Hello! When you say don't go overboard..well I have probably 40 emails from throughout our relationship at different times and 30 photos and cell phone records of different time periods. I guess that is too much? I just want to make sure they can see that it is genuine. I also have copies of our E-tickets for travel, unfortunately in the beginning we didn't save the actual boarding pass stubs, well I can't find mine! Thanks for all the advice!

Advice about sending a lil bit of everything (two-three emails, couple phone records, etc.) is excellent! What will be most important is the E-tickets - send copies of those. And throw 5-6 pictures into the mix smile.gif. At this point all they care about is that you guys have actually met. The rest should be forwarded to you SO for the interview.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSome ways of meeting are frowned upon? Which are okay, then?
There should be more to the story of the denial you mention in addition to been introduced by the family member. One couple recently posted a story about visa interview problems due to mismatch in pointing out how the fiance and family member who introduced her to the American citizen were related. I believe one of them said uncle, while other claimed he was a cousin.

Don't over stress about saying the right thing at the interview! Be genuine and describe your meeting exactly how it happened. Sounds like you have plenty of evidence prooving both meeting in person and on-going relationship. I've had four interviews in the past for different visas, and never had a problem just because I tried to be honest and firm in my answers. Best of luck!!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-129F sent without affadavit - OK?
Looks like your buddy got you confused a bit smile.gif You personally send nothing to NVC, it's all done by VSC once the petition is approved. Than your approved petition is forwarded to the embassy. You will have to send all the support documents like affidavit of support, tax returns, recently signed letter of intent, proof of ongoing relationship directly to your fiance who will bring it all to the embassy interview in Kiev. I suggest you guides6ly.gif for the next steps and start preparing for the interview. Your fiance will have some docs to collect/translater in Ukraine. It really helps to kill time while waiting plus once the petition is approved you will be ready to go. By the way, Packet 3 for Ukraine can be downloaded from the Kiev embassy website. It will give you an idea of what is needed for the interview.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresMalaysian Religious Wedding then Fiance Visa to US for Legal Wedding?
I really wouldn't suggest having a religious ceremony and than applying for a fiance visa. Even if it is considered non-legal, interview consular can deny your visa claiming you two are married. Even worse, she might be denied entry to the US as a fiance if they decide to treat this ceremony as marriage. Thus they can claim fraud and ban her from the country. Many couples reported been denied visa or entry due to such "non-legal" ceremonies. So, be careful.

I suggest talk to your fiance and see what works best for her and her family. Yes, sposal visa will take more time, but knowing your in-laws are happy is priceless.

Another option is to wait for K-1 and marry in civil ceremony in US. Than you file for AOS and when here AP gets there you two can fly down there and have a religious ceremony. But again, if her family will be happy with such an arrangement.

Good luck to you both.

Hello,
I'm just wondering if USCIS is really processing the applications on first-come-first-serve basis. does any one have any idea? The reason i'm questioning that is because i see some people have filed their application later than others but still they get their approval sooner (assuming that there is no RFE and docs are all complete). do they get stuck in FBI or something that takes more or less? or some stuff such as, making sure all documents are sorted and putting more evidence may actually help to reduce the time?

-Michael

It is supposed to be in the order of petitions' receipt at the service centers. However, some things might cause delay regardless of how perfect and organized the petition package is. Here is a link to Q&A session with former adjudicator to give you an idea of what is going on once your petition reaches USCIS. Click Here

Thanks alot!

First of all, there is no Alien # yet, since USCIS hasn't seen your petition yet, so live it blank. As to not fitting all jobs, I had the same problem with both jobs and residences. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFiling K-1 when to file/send G-325a?

O.K. I have decided I will file for a K-1 visa and I visited the USCIS homepage. I didn't see the G-325a on their site or mentioning of having to send it in with the I-129f. On VJ I was reading the check list for sending a K-1 and it has the G-325a included as if we should send that with the I-129f.

Which is the correct way to do this.. send ONLY the I-129f and later I will be instructed to send the G-325a or what? I'm sorry if i've misunderstood any of this. I appreciate your answers. smile.gif

Jolie

I too found USCIS instructions hard to understand. After half a day spent on their website we did find that G-325a is required for both the petitioner and the beneficiary. So be sure to send those in with the petition. We followed the VJ guides and everything seems to be fine wink.gif Best of luck!

Just tell you future wifey to calm down, lol smile.gif If you plan to attend the interview, it should really help in the case of denial. Many ppl reported dealing with denial on the spot and actually getting visa after harrasing embassy/contacting representatives/providing additional proof. If you have a bona find relationship, you two have nothing to worry about. I only read positive reports about Kiev embassy. I've been there several times myself (for J1 visas) and never had any problems. I know K1 is a different case, but I think if Vika will be honest and sure in her answers she will get a visa, no problem!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresproof of ongoing relationship: e-mails between my fiance and my mom?
At this point evidence of on-going relationship is not needed. All USCIS has to know right now is the fact that you and your fiance have met in person in the last two years. So be sure to present some evidence of being at the same time & place together. Mind that photos are secondary evidence and have to be supported by boarding passes, travel receipts, etc. If you can prove current residence at the same place with some legal paperwork - great! If not, your boarding pass to Marrocco or copy of your visa/stamp should work. Good luck to both of you!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresA question for the experts
All we can do at this stage is speculate... Some cases get approved without a single touch, so I wouldn't really worry about touches that much. You are close to approval time, so that's what might cause all this anxiety and extra worrying. I totally understand. Especially seen all those around you getting approved and still no email from CHRIS. You can't really do anything untill you are 60 days past posted USCIS processing times, and I doubt you will get there. I just wish you all the pacience there is in the world to get through those couple more days. Oh, and I doubt your job will effect anything. It's just might be that your adjudicator is a slower one star_smile.gif

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFirst step to take
Tessa,

All the forms can be obtained from USCIS website. He will need to spend some time putting your package together. You will have to get signed form G-325 plus your letter of intent to him. I made my fiance's life a bit easier by filling my half of I-129, G-325a, writing the letter of how we met, both of our letters of intent and cover letter for the package. So you can do the same if you wish and mail it to him ASAP. And Rebeccajo is right, read the guides first!!!
Best of luck,
Ana
