Heres hoping this is true...

Definitely! My heart breaks everyday I can't be with him. Just to know when this will come to an end and we can begin would be so comforting. *fingers crossed*

I am in complete understanding of how you feel today! My fiance left yesterday as well after being here for just under a week; his trip was cut short because his flight was cancelled twice before he decided to drive here. Our time was spent just the same - with lots of family and friends - which is great, but could have used some extra time to ourselves. He also called today and got the same answer - again I didn't expect to hear anything different. BUT we are feeling confident that we are going to hear some good news in the next few weeks.

We try to skype every few days and both of us are basketball fans, so we watch games together over the phone. In the end, all this waiting and frustration will be totally worth it...hang in there...i'm right there with you :)

It's good to know I'm not alone, although I'm sorry you and others are in this boat too.

:) Thanks ScooterMac and Varba for the advice and the laugh. We've never tired to watch a movie together over Skype, but that's a great idea! I'm sure I'll be back over the next couple of months needing to hear the same advice. Thanks VJ!

CanadaK-1 people waiting for interviews at Montreal
I made my first call of the year to DOS an hour ago...still no interview date. I can't say that I actually thought I'd hear something different, but at the same time, all of the November interviewees were assured they were working as hard and fast as they could to get through the backlog. I'm not noticing any difference from their timelines to mine

Sorry for the angry vent, but I'm so tired of "not knowing" more than anything else right now. I was in Toronto over New Years visiting my Love. It was the fastest trip ever. I don't feel like we had any time to ourselves because there were always friends and family and celebrating going on. Don't get me wrong, it was great, but I don't know if I'll be able to see him again before our wedding...and who knows when that will be. I'm just really sad today, but I always get like this for at least a week afterward :( I had to leave him at noon EST time yesterday and didn't get home an in bed until 1 am MST. How does everyone make it through the rough patches? I sometimes feel like I'm falling apart.

I'm really hoping we hear something soon!

My P3 was logged received 11/25. I'm really hoping to have an interview in March sometime, to make our April 9th wedding. If we miss our date because interview isn't scheduled until after, that's fine... But I don't understand why they can't at least schedule it so people can make plans and send out invitations and such. Even if it were months out, at least we know when we can make plans for. It's so frustrating to me...and everyone else I'm sure. I really, really, really hope to know when our interview is by the end of January, otherwise I'll be bawling for sure! Good luck to everyone!

lol. not so greedy, just hopeful biggrin.gif The only reason I am super cautious now is I sent my P3 back in July (cuz they had to send a new one so I ended up being 3 weeks behind where I should have lol). We were suppose to get married Oct 16, which would have been about 3-4 months ish, but I just had my interview 2 weeks ago which put me at almost the 5 month mark from returning my P3. They have sped up a bit now and I really hope they continue to do so, but from now on with this process I'm just going to assume its going to take forever laughing.gif

5 months?! Eeekkk! I'd surely be screwed if I end up there. Fingers are crossed star_smile.gif

I'm hoping we won't need to change our April 9th wedding date. I'm also hoping we'll hear soon enough so we can finalize plans and send out invitations. I know, I know...greedy me blink.gif

I am now officially waiting for an interview in MTL. DOS said MTL logged our P3 on 11/25. Hopefully the wait won't be too long. I hope some of the earlier couples get an interview soon...that should be a sign of good things to come!

You know, whenever I think about this topic (WAITING for an interview in MTL), I visualize the scene from Beetlejuice near the end where he's in the waiting room of the afterlife, and he takes a number that doesn't even have a name it's so long... Well, that's how I feel right about now. wacko.gif

The waiting sucks because you cant make plans...

But you know what sucks more than waiting for an interview?

Waiting for Canada Post to find your package that is in their system... because the simplest part of this whole procedure, they still manage to #### up.

Yeah...I've read nasty things about Canada Post on this forum. Luckily I haven't ran into that yet...but there's still time blink.gif

So we received P3 and sent it back to Montreal 11/9. Canada Post said it was delivered on 11/10. How long does it typically take MTL to log receipt of these? I called DoS this morning and they still don't show it's been received. Also, once received, how will I know they feel it's complete and now we're just waiting for assignment of interview?

The Toronto medical office is closed already, I dont want to leave a message.
I'll call tomorrow to see what date they give me and if I dont like it, I'll try Montreal :/

I haven't read all the posts, so I'm not sure if anyone commented on this or not...
I called Toronto medical a few weeks ago just to get a sense for how far out they were booking (we're trying to plan a formal ceremony as well). I also got their message system and left a vm. Someone from their office called me back within a few hours. I got the impression that was the only way to get in touch with them. Just thought I'd share smile.gif

Congratulations to everyone who has an interview date, and good luck to those still waiting. I'll be waiting here soon hopefully smile.gif

I don't think it could hurt. Let us now who everyone is writing and when my time comes, I'm in!

I know I'm just spinning my wheels by even mentioning this, but how come there is an expiration date of 4 months from NOA2 if it's just disregarded? Isn't there any way to hold them more accountable? I know I fully intend to write the consular general once I begin the horrendous wait. I know it's probably too early to become so frustrated, but after seeing all your timelines, I'm outraged! I can't imagine everything on hold for so much more unnecessary time. We all have lives to begin/continue! Ok, I'm done now. Thanks for letting me rant a moment.

That number is only to find out if you have an interview yet tho. You haven't gotten your packet 3, so it might be a month until you start calling.

I'm new here and was wondering if anyone could briefly tell me about how long after you submit your packet 3 is your interview scheduled. I'm a K1 still waiting for NOA2, but looking for a heads up.

Thanks!

Really depends how how backlogged they are... worst case 4 months, best case 3 months, although some people have been scheduled within 6-8 weeks, but that's not really happening at the moment. With Montreal its always best to plan for the worst case scenario to be on the safe side.

Thank you Sapphire!

To be safe, i'd put your 'worst' case at 4.5 - 5 months. It'd probably be better to be earlier rather than later than your expectations

That sounds horrible sad.gif But you're right, better to be on the safe side. So after 4 months an extension would need to be filed right? Is it automatic that the consulate does it? Or would I need to? Thanks for your help!

Hello to all! It's been a while since I've posted as well. Everyone is seems to be at the "busy" stage of this process...or enjoying the reunion :) Adam POE'd 3/27 and made it into SLC the afternoon of 3/30. We had our civil ceremony to begin AOS paperwork 4/1. We felt April Fools Day appropriate for such service...you know...this whole process being a big joke and all :) Anyway, life is wonderful. I can't imagine being any happier. Sometimes when I awake in the middle of the night, I roll over and reach for him just to make sure he's really there. I love that my dreams of being with him have finally come true! I hope the rest of you feel the same sort of happiness as I do! Good luck to all, no matter the stage you are in in this process.

Now let's just hope EAD and AP comes through quickly! *fingers crossed*

So Julyers...Adam and I finally received our interview date...3/16/09 in Montreal (March 16th is also my daughters birthday). I'm sad I won't be able to make it, but I'm sure he'll do just fine without me. Such an excruciating wait. I'll be so relieved when it's all over. We were planning an April 9th wedding, but weren't feeling very comfortable we'd make it so last Monday we decided to officially move the date to August 9th...Doh  Oh well. We'll just have the civil ceremony in April and our "this is the day we'll celebrate our anniversary" wedding in August.

We've planned to marry April 9th, but it's not looking too good. I've got all our friends and family asking when we'll know so the can begin booking travel, but I have no clue. It's becoming so stressful. All I can tell them is if it works out and you can afford to attend with short notice, great. Otherwise, it's too bad, but we completely understand. Oh well. What more can you do? Not a damn thing. Rant over. Congrats to eveyone who's SO's are here. Congrats to those who have married...Yay! Congrats to those who have approved interviews with visa in hand or on the way, and congrats to those with pending interviews. It will all be over for us soon too, I hope ;) i was thinking last night, and I can't wait to read about our expecting new additions to our families. That may not be too far off for some :)

So you all have to sit through the following story ....

So last night I went home to visit my parents ...and all night i complained (my pitty party) and said it's not fair ...and i want good news for my thanksgiving ...(which happens to be my fav holiday, bc good things have happened to me around thanksgiving, i found out i passed the bar right before thanksgiving, moved into a new house around thanksgiving, and i love to eat which hello!!! thanksgiving is all about eating and napping) ...so that was last night.

i wake up this morning ...and i write you all a little note, i check uscis (nothing) and i get back to work ...and tell myself ..."oh it is just another day"

then i finally give in to my fiance's stubborness (seeing how long he would wait to text me - whatever...i'm still a girl) and i miss him ...so i start texting him ..and we are having a little back and forth flirting ..and then around 1.30 (my time) i tell myself ..."oh it's about that time again...time to recheck uscis"

and ... here is the moment of truth.

i do what I always do ... sign in, customer, my id and my password ..and as usual my heart skips a beat as i imagine whether an update has been made ...AND WHAT DO I SEE??????? A NEW DATE OF 11/19 HOLY GUACAMOLE!!!!!!!

I GOT A TOUCH TODAY I GOT A TOUCH TODAY I GOT A TOUCH TODAY I GOT A TOUCH TODAY

I feel alive again. I got SOMETHING!!!!!!!!

So i'm in my office, and I actually literally SCREAMED! my secretary came running into my office ..and it just happens to be a day when our regional manager is visiting the office and he is next door interviewing ...and i refresh uscis bc i can't believe my eyes...i start to sweat and i was literally shaking out of excitement!!!!

yes people ... i know it is ONLY a touch ...and really doesn't mean anything ...because i have 3 options here that could result
1. approval shortly
2. rfe
3. a touch and wait and wait and wait for something!!
4. denial!?!? (i'm leaving it with 3 options)

but IT IS SOMETHING!!!!!!

so i ran downstairs and called my fiance ...and i had to take 15 minutes to explain to him a touch

and he told me "go to that website and ask your friends about when they got a touch and what happened" he is referring to all of you! hahahahaah

ok...i'm done ...really.

hehehehehehehe

thank god. seriously.

WOW! That is definitely amazing news! Congratulations! Your story made me smile, accompanied by a little chuckle while I was reading. You should surely celebrate your TOUCH tonight. Sorry...that sounds slightly dirty...maybe it didn't...maybe it's me missing my fiance so much...nevermind...sorry smile.gif

Congrats to everyone at all your individual progress through this madness!

My update: We received P3 and sent it back on the 9th. Montreal should have it by now, but Adam has been here since midnight Tuesday night/Wednesday morning. That really helped with my mood and my mind. Our consulate seems to have caught up on their huge backlog of K1 interviews in November and December, but who knows if the trend will continue. Adam left for home earlier this afternoon and I can't seem to stop crying. I know he was here for days and I should be grateful and thankful, which I am, but I can't help but be sad. Even if we get our interview in January, he still isn't planning on moving until right before our wedding date. No more visits from him...and my daughter is in school and I have no one to watch her while I visit...so who knows. Oh, and our wedding date is of no significance, but I can't get him to agree to move the date up if we can. It's there now for others to save for travel to our wedding. I completely understand, I'm just impatient and in love!

Ok, my rant is over...

To MF and all the others, I'm so sorry...hang in there...it's all any of us can really do unfortunately.

Thank you SO much for the update, it's nice to see where everyone's at. I managed to get the swine flu so I've not been too active here and will not be on much the next 2-3 days either I think. M and F, what are you referring to as "our story" and "letter of intent"? I ask this because I think I may have done the same thing, but I did still receive my NOA2 without RFE. Check it out!

You've already jumped through a million hoops. If they deny then you fight fight fight some more. Everything will be ok.

Thanks Jewel smile.gif rose.gif . The status of my case is that things are moving so quickly now. My fiance is suppossed to get his interview date this week, but after reading that post not feeling so confident about it now. Yeah, I know I could fight it and just get married, but we did the K-1 fiance as it is much more faster. To imagine after all this to wait some more is going to be excruciating. Maybe I will just move to India. I know I should be thinking positive, but after reading denials you can not help it.

All will be ok Star! Try not to stress yourself to much. Every case is different, and every consular that interviews you is different. The moving over part is mine and Damos backup plan. If for some strange reason we got denied I was going to move over and marry him and just file a k3 will over in australia and wait it out there. No more being seperated if this didnt work. But it will!

Ditto on the back-up plan...though I hope none of us have to resort. So I finally made it to the consulate! And they may be getting ready to process interviews again. Hopefully it's not the 6 month wait I was anticipating. I'll feel so much better when Adam receives Packet 3.

Still want to give a big "hang in there" to all still waiting for the d@mn NOA2. Keep on your patience and positive thinking. I know it's easier said than done, but I hate the thought of anyone distrought in the process, especially since we aren't out of the woods just yet. I find myself stressing more right now than I did with USCIS. Maybe because I think so much more can go wrong sad.gif Positive attitude!
