K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhat are the reasons for AP?

lol that's why i said LAOS. figured you were asking for answers from anyone in general but for the future maybe you should say that you want answers from thailand petitioners and beneficiaries only...then you won't get unnecessary replies from those in other countries.

I am not the O P but would suggest to you that your replies are welcome.
However you are replying in the Thailand forum which helps people isolate the questions & answers.
Nick is worried enough without thinking what you said had anything to do with her case. It doesnt. Your refrence to age for example. She & her fiance are almost the exact same age. Bonafides? Her relationship has been solid for years not months. And as I said A P is not usually applied for missing docs.
Nick is worried about A P. Adding to that worry with misinformation is not helpful.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhat are the reasons for AP?

 I knew somehow that you would post here! Thanks tho... (L) I'm a big worrier, can you tell? At least maybe this topic will help others who fear AP. I'll try to not think about stuff like that for now

I dont think you are a big worrier; rather a dilligent person. Its tough to keep your mind off of what you want the most especially if its this important to you. I feel for you & your parents! They must be special people.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhat are the reasons for AP?

in laos most of the k1 and k3 petitions where the petitioner is older female and beneficiary is a younger male will be put on AP to see if the relationship is "bonafide relationship". also i hear that the COs in laos will put petitions on AP and will ask for a very detail explanation of relationship if you only give a brief explanation in the I-129F. Also get AP for missing information or documents. this is from what my fiance told me when he talked to other beneficiaries he's met at the embassy or in general he met during our process.

i think you should just prepare all your documents, practice all the interview questions, and just be prepared.

With all intended respect what happens in Laos stays in Laos. Thailand is just as unique.
The O P is finished with the docs & awaiting the interview date. AP is not for missing docs as far as I know. That would be an RFE ( request for evidence ). A P is a different process.
There is no question about the relationship with this couple.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhat are the reasons for AP?

I keep seeing topics where people think they are fine, they haven't had any RFE, and then they get AP instead of a passed interview and then they wait more. Sounds scary to me....

So my question is, what types of reasons do people get put in AP for and how can they be prevented?

Nick I understand you feel frustrated by the events that have led up to now. Its natural to think there may be trouble at every turn because the journey isnt smooth.
In your case I am sure whats to come will be much easier than you suspect. If there were any serious problems you would know right now.
My own case took 408 days. Yours will be far short of that. You are very close to getting the interview date. Ice will not have any trouble at the interview. I would be suprised if he is at the window more than a few minutes. His circumstances are different than most. He has been to the USA & returned. He was educated here. He has a long term relationship with you. There is no reason at all to fear the case would require the evil A P. As long as your docs are done correctly ect there is nothing to review.
Stop looking under rocks for what you fear.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresA situation with K1 interview: Advice needed.

Hey folks,

I received the date for my interview at the embassy but I have a problem due to an issue that has arose. I spent more than a year in malaysia after my 16th birthday which has meant that I need to get a police certificate from them. I have filled in all the necessary paperwork and they seem to be taking their sweet time with the process.

Now, the situation that has arisen is down to the time frames that were given to me about processing times for interview. I was told 6-8 weeks then 2-3 weeks after that would be the actual date day of interview. Due to these time frames, I sent in the DS2001 saying that I am ready for interview. As things have turned out, the date for interview is less than 4 weeks and I am still waiting on the paperwork from malaysia, despite the fact that I requested the police cert back at the beginning of september.

It is highly likely that it may come between now and the date of interview but what happens in the event it doesnt? Is it going to matter? I have absolutely everything else going apart from this one bit of paper. Should I postpone?

Need advice please.

Just go to the interview & explain the police cert will be coming. They will withold the actual visa until you provide the police cert. If you postpone you may have to wait a long time to get another date.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresMoscow Consular VISA filing fee
Hello,

I was wondering about that too.. But time is going and I've thought that there is no way to avoid that.. So, last Saturday I went to Moscow and paid that fee at the nearest office of VTB24 bank..They took exactly 11550 RUB. And for now, I am trying to schedule my interview..It seems to be difficult.Good luck! :) Lada

I've been involved somewhat with the process or idea of filing for fiance visa for about 4-6 years, and I think for all of that time, it has ALWAYS BEEN that Vermont has a little edge on speed. God only knows why.

Probably something to do with ... . . . medical....marijuana.... laws   :o

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhat is, How do, What if...
Yep! I totally agree with the original poster.
Some days, it appears there are those here who would rely only on this site to get through the process.

I remember myself, before the first time I did this, IT DID IN FACT SEEM OVERWHELMING.

It's mostly all in our minds.
And yes, if you simply read the instructions, it's not all that difficult.

I think alot of it is, that so many of us fear government forms/instructions.

The first time about four years ago, I paid a gringo in Colombia a couple hundred bucks and he sent me HIS INSTRUCTIONS.
He helped to make it easier. But, still... there is just some BLOCK (maybe my head, lol) that slows me or perhaps most of us, when beginning this undertaking.

Maybe we fear failure.
Maybe we are a lil pissed, .. that we have to do this, while MILLIONS OF ILLEGALS cross the border without all the legal paperwork we have to go through, and then the gov treats them like favored citizens.

But YES! I think people here have been every day asking questions, implying that they are nearly clueless as to the procedures needed to be followed. We'll, I guess that is why they have the procedures,... kinda like Darwin Awards.com... seeing who will excude themselves from the gene pool

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresG325A Question -Address
It says "List residence for past five years".
Pretty simple.
____

Make sure you have the latest updated forms from USCIS.

Oh-oh! I just noticed her G-325A form was of the version that expired in May of 2009 and I used one that expired in June of 2011... Sent in I-129F on July 23rd, 2011.

Not aiming to piggyback on your thread here, but it can be an important point.
I won't complain, if I get RFE on this, but I suppose sometimes, the old forms aren't very different at all and it will get through without problems... I'll keep my fingers crossed

I know better. ALWAYS USE THE LATEST, MOST RECENT FORMS! :bonk:

Shawn, ... someon said to call, and then go into the program automation for CHANGING YOUR ADDRESS, and you would get to a person to talk to, somewhere in those numbers.

Good Luck.
Otherwise, like someone else says, you got the hardcopy, so don't worry about the website.
Even the person I spoke to said they don't keep that any where perfectly up-to-date.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresk-1 interview
I did this once before about four years ago.
All of the so called 'experts' always said, ... it's not 'your' interview, it's theirs, and it's really not important for you to be there at the interview.
One of those guys who use to help people along with the process for a couple 100 bucks (not an attorney) ALWAYS TOLD THAT TO EVERY ONE, and, he helped people for about 15 years, and said he'd never had a client denied the visa.

OTOH,... emotionally, I'd think it would be one of the more important days of your/their life.
I went, the first time.

But, I don't think it had anything to do with visa being denied or granted.
I think it was my impeccable preparation.

And, ... I'm sure I will be there this time, as well.
Wouldn't want to miss it.
And, now that I know what it is like for that day, I think it will spell relief for her, for me to be there with her.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresProof of ongoing relationship for K-1 Interview.
At times, I think I should go ahead and print out 3 months records of calls, and maybe I will do it this weekend, and send in as a supplement.

BUT REALLY.... IT IS VERY SOFT EVIDENCE, AT BEST.
The first lady I did this with had her cell phone stolen/robbed several times in Colombia, over 3 years time... so, it looks a little cheezy, with so many different phone numbers on it. Soft Evidence, at best, and now only a few months records are available, so I guess that is why I passed up including them at this time.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresProof of ongoing relationship for K-1 Interview.

I have a question about proof of ongoing relationship for K-1 interview.

Here is what I have

1. Google chats
2. Skype logs
3. Calling Cards - I am using calling cards to call my fiancee, and talk to her at least twice a day. Unfortunately calling cards don't track the number you call as there is no billing nothing. Is just reciepts will suffice? Or what should I do?

Any other suggestions please.

____________

I hear ya, Max.
Here's what I did:
On the petition I sent in July this year, I DID NOT INCLUDE calling records.
I also use a calling card.
And I can print out ONLY THE PAST 3 MONTHS' CALLS.
I think when I did this 4 years ago, they were making available ALOT MORE THAN THAT.
So, back then, I included the calling records

My case was very clean 4 years ago, and that was even with her bringing 2 boys under 21 years of age.
2 minute interview, and it was done.
Everything was also very clean, when I asked her to return to her counrty of origin, done 'on time', etc. No Problems.

This case I filed in July this year is also pretty much what I'd call squeaky clean.
Plenty of other evidence is there, and very well organized.

I imagine they could send me a nasty lil RFE, for phone records.
But, because of your reasoning, I'm hoping the other overwhelming evidence will be sufficient and that I'll be getting
an NOA2 in the mail here, any day now.

So, you are not alone in that regard.

Neither time did I include printouts of any instant messaging.

What is the 'CENOMAR'?

Excuse my ignorance;
I have repeated quite a few times here lately, that I did this once about 4 years ago, and THE ONLY THING I REMEMBER BEING INVOLVED IN WAS... receiving the First NOA.

After that... it seems to me, it was all 'in her court'.
I don't remember getting anything else in the mail or otherwise.

It was alot of time, about 7 months, but the only other thing I remember after receiving the NOA1 was that the rest of the paperwork was on 'her end', until the interview was scheduled.... a month out, .. hence, 8 months total. I just don't remember me receiving anything else in the mail or otherwise.
