K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Has Anyone Waited OVER 5 Months For Their NOA2?	There are MANY who for what ever reason, have to wait more than 5 months for their NOA2. The USCIS site says they try to get them out in 5 months. I don't speculate why some are done so quickly and why some are slow. For now, I am not getting excited that our NOA2 isn't here yet. We filed at the end of May so it's still early although others have been approved already who filed after we did. I'm sure that will change if I have heard nothing after the 6th month. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	How to get Packet 3 and 4	For those who dealt with the US embassy in Accra, how did you or you beneficiary get packet 3 and 4? Did you pick it up from the embassy, or did they mail it. For those who picked it up from the embassy how did you know it was ready to be picked up? Any advise will be appreciated. Hi, I see your petition was approved on 6/30/11, Congrats. Once your petition has been approved it will go to the NVC, and NVC will send you a letter with a case number on it. The case number will usually start with ACC followed by some numbers, and in a lot of cases the letter will tell you that your case has been forwared to the embassy in Ghana, that won't be true at all. You need to call the NVC and find out the status of your case at least once a week. When the NVC does inform you that your case has been forwared to the embassy, then you need to send the embassy an email explaning to them that you are the petitioner of a recently approved fiance petition. You want to state in your email that you would like to receive a formal letter emailed to you, so you could inform the benifiting person when he or she could go to the embassy to pick-up package 3&4. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	USA Embassy Ghana	Let give thanks to God for everything. By His grace more positive news will be coming out this and coming years for GHANA. No need to panic and by God grace she will have everything ready before the due date. She should go to medical center with her new appointment date. Normally it take two weeks for the report to come out but due to her date they will it make express and she will have it ready before the date. For the police report she can get it the same day by adding extra money. One thing I want to bring to your notice, well am not sure the type of birth certificate she is having and if it is not the biometric one then she should go for it asap cos I heard they dont accept the previous ones lately. Good luck and I pray she will approved on the first interview by Gods grace. Praying for everyone on the long waiting to get interview dates sooner. Thank you so.... very much for all your positive words. She is Liberian, and she already has her Liberian Birth certificate. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	USA Embassy Ghana	Hello VJ family, Today my fiancé received a call from the U.S. Embassy in Ghana, and I was as shocked as she was when she told the news. She said the embassy called her and asked her if she had all her paperwork together, and she said yes. They asked her if she would like to come in for her interview on August 17th instead of January 9th. I almost hit the floor when she told me this, GOD is great. Less than 3 months and she has an interview in 3 weeks from Ghana, that’s unbelievable. Is this normal, has it ever happen before. The only problem is she really isn’t ready, because she didn’t get her medical and she needs her police clearance certificate from Ghana which takes about 10 working days. She is going to the police station tomorrow, and she is going to call and set her medical appointment also. These are the only to things that must be done, but here’s the big question. Some countries view a small religious ceremony/celebration as an actual wedding, and you need to do research to find out if it's allowed or not. Canada didn't specifically say we couldn't have one, but we opted not to to make sure there were no grey areas in our visa approval process. Do NOT hold any sort of ceremony if there is a risk you will be denied! With this visa, you HAVE to wait. You can't "have your cake and eat it, too" with the K1. Thanks for the clarification. But don't say that it's "not correct" or you "HAVE to wait" if you are acknowledging that it's only "some countries" that have this restriction. The recommendation to do research is a good one. I think the best solution is to plan a ceremony/celebration in a location where everyone can be, regardless of the visa status. Telling such a lie is a very bad thing. A successful USA immigration process requires truth telling. All ideas of saying, writing or answering anything with something other than the truth must be vanquished from your mind. Otherwise, be ready to plan a life together outside the USA. Your response doesn't seem appropriate. It was not a suggestion to be untruthful. The suggestion appears to be based on this comment from the OP: A friend of mine's son (USC) got engaged in pakistan about over 4 years ago. For my fiancee, we put both last names, but that's her preference. If you typically use only one last time, I would personally enter it that way on the form, and then perhaps add a brief note in your cover sheet indicating that your last name appears differently on some records. My question is do you really have to list "every" address. I have lived in 3 places a few year back and have no clue of the address of dates. I thinking of just putting my last 3 previous address and than my permanent home address for the rest. Im also thinking of doing this for my police certificate. If you don't think you can find a place to print them off at that size, you could just e-mail the file to your fiancée and have her print it out over there and then mail it to you. You know what that's a brill idea as she needs my passport photo for our I-129F package but will you let me know how you get on in boots as I may go there tomorrow myself and check it out. Or did you just ask some member of staff? K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	US Passport style photos	I will have to do this soon. What I plan to do is take the photo with my own digital camera. Make sure the photo conforms to the criteria of the USCIS (e.g. white background etc...). Upload it to your computer and crop it to the desired size (do not change the aspect ratio). I think 2" X 2" is about 600px X 600 px. Once you have the picture edited save onto a USB key or memory stick. Then go to Boots or somewhere with a Kodak (or similar) kiosk. Insert USB/memory card and follow the instructions. You can then pick the photo sizes that you want. I have not tried this yet for a 2" X 2", but I presume you can. You pay per piece of photographic paper. So for passport-size photos you can fit more than one of them onto one piece of photographic paper. Make sure you fill up the template of that one piece of photographic paper with a many of the same photo as you can. You will see what I mean when you look at the preview before pressing print. You will probably need them later on (e.g. interview, medical). Check the instructions for acceptable photos here. I have a passport photo i had for the green card lotto on a disk and i brought it into 3 places all that have kodak machines and none said they could help me, just to let you know	sideways	Male	0	2011-08-02 11:03:00

Made me feel loads better about this process. I do have a few questions, please, if someone can help me. My fiance is English and has filled out the G-325A form, but he doesn't know his parents' birth dates. Is that going to delay the process? Also, do I put "n/a" or "none" in all of the blank spots on the forms? When the fiance visa is approved (please, Lord), and he has to go to the American embassy/consulate, will he need American currency or the British currency? One more question for tonight we understand there is a $350 fee for his end, at the embassy...does that include the medical exam or will we have to pay for that separately? I want to get my wife's status adjusted in a timeliest manner possible as we want to travel out of the country for the honeymoon. Since handling k1 visa on my own did not justify saved costs I would much rather prefer to retain an attorney that specializes in fiancee visas and adjustment of status. I have done some research. However, prior to contacting him I want to ask your opinions as to the factors that I should pay attention to. I have already noticed that there are preparation services and law firms on the market and the pricing is quite similar. It won't change the BIAS involved in the HUMAN process involved in the decision. The fact is, 9 of 10 applications or people seen for an interview approval or fail decision WILL probably have pics together being a real couple, laughing, and smiling and loving. Do you want to risk being the 1 of 10 applicants being the odd-man-out having NO FOTOS and having to explain that to the HUMAN in front of you tasked with giving you a pass or fail in having a life together with your true love? She says that it will be another 2 - 4 months before the divorce is final.. Can I file the I-129F to get the K1 process going or is that going to cause me problems? If I can file it should I put married or Divorced? The paperwork is at the courts now. Just know you cant yet file for the 129F until you are legally free to marry. in the meantime, just enjoy yourself, and make at least 3 trips to go visit your girl, and make sure she is the one.
