US Citizenship General Discussion	Conflicting information - please help	No nothings wrong...the first green card is good for 2 years thats why its temporary...and 3 months before that card expires so in your case in september 2009 ..you have to apply for removing the conditions I-751 form (the 10 year green card) then if you want to apply for citizenship do it after 3 years...or 3 months before 3 years... US Citizenship General Discussion	Just starting the naturalization process	Hello all -- Nick (UK) and Nora (US) here. Nick's just starting the naturalization process -- has been a permanent res. for about 3 years now. Have been married since Dec. 04 -- came on K1 visa. 6 years and two kids later, looking into making next big step. Would make things easier. We are in Ohio -- just recently relocated from Wisconsin... wondering if there's anyone else in north east ohio area? From the stuff posted here, it pretty much looks like we have to send all the same paperwork that we had to send for visa and green card (which we have all together), but it looks pretty straight forward. How is it going for everyone? Will probably post questions as they come along. Just wanted to introduce ourselves and say hello. Every state allows a naturalized citizen to have a US passport......,they're not issued by individual states, but issued by US government. US Citizenship General Discussion	Pre-Interview Case File Review, Yellow Letter - Odd and Incorrect	We checked the form and she definitely answered No on those questions so it should not be a problem. It's just a bit disturbing at first to receive such a letter. I ended up speaking to an officer at the USCIS number and she claimed that they would have the original application there. I'm pretty sure now that they scanned in the application and the scanner incorrectly picked up Yes answers and that's what prompted the yellow letter.   We live on Long Island in New York.  I see your interview is soon. Good luck!  We should be getting a date soon.   Thank you..Hope you get your interview letter soon..As i said dont even bother to send anything back to them,its going to confuse them even more and make the process even longer,you can explain and show them the proof once you are in front of the officer when you have the actual interview.. US Citizenship General Discussion	Pre-Interview Case File Review, Yellow Letter - Odd and Incorrect	Unless she made a mistake on the form and answered YES on those 2 questions, you guys shouldn't worry about it..because at the interview they will go over those YES and NO questions on her application and they will disregard that yellow letter once they see they made a mistake..good luck p.s im from Moldova too..where do you guys live? My wife applied for citizenship and received this letter today.   The Incorrect part states: "You indicated on your application that you have been arrested, cited or detained"...  and goes on to say to bring all documentation.  She's never been "arrested, cited or detained" and answered No to these questions on the form.   The Odd part says: "Please bring your voter's registration card and provide documentation obtained from the local election authority documenting your voting history." How can she vote if she's not a citizen??? Who knows, maybe they would be incompetent enough to register her but she did not try to register.   We called USCIS and spoke to a customer service rep but she really wasn't that helpful. She just said it was probably a mistake and tell that at the interview.  We think the incorrect information should be corrected before hand. Just want to share my interview experience..CLEVELAND USCIS I had my interview this morning at 920am..I got there a little early and waited about 30 min before my name was called, the uscis officer was a really nice lady, she was very casual about everything, starting with her clothes and the way she was talking, made me feel very comfortable...First she started by going over my application, and asking me if everything is correct, then yes and no questions, then I had to sign the last page of the application.After all of that the test questions: What is one right or freedom from the first amendment? Who is in charge of the judicial branch? During the cold war , what was the main concern of the US? If the president can no longer serve, who becomes president? Why does thd flag have 50 stars? There are 4 amendments about who can vote.Describe one of them? What is one re as on colonists came to America? Reading/Writing test: What state has the most people?/ California has the most people.. She said I was by far the best interview she had that morning...must have been a crazy morning LOL She said Congratulations you passed! I should get my letter for the Oath ceremony in the mail...she just asked me what city would be closer for me to attent my oath ceremony and to bring a camera to take lots of pictures..
