US Embassy and Consulate Discussionyour opinion is needed
For those of you who have perhaps read the other posts already know my situation with the cancelled interview and a dead end response every time I contact anyone. The embassy still has not answered my email, I wonder if its okay to write another one, a more persistent one stating to them that they are making a HUGE mistake? Apparently they ignored the first one...or will this piss them off and make it worse for me?

Thanx Much
Aque

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduressignature required...whos?

Yes, all 4 pages must be signed.
But they don't all need to be filled out by hand. If you fill them out on the computer entering the info in the first page will fill in the rest.

Thank You! I was having a bit of a panic attack not knowing what would be easiest for him and me and the fastest way. THANK YOU! (L)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduressignature required...whos?

It will have to have his original signature. And also he will have to sign in his native language in the box below that. What I did was fill it out online and saved it to my computer. Then I emailed it to him. He printed all four, signed them and sent them back to me in the mail. It saved a lot of time. Hope that helps.
Meriem

THANK YOU!!!! (F) You've been very helpful, I will try to do this, He needs to sign 4 copies of this biographic info, is that right?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduressignature required...whos?
I am working on my I-129 packet, and my question is when I fill out the biographic information for both my fiance and myself...who signs for him? It says signature of applicant, but he's not here to sign it? :help:

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDelivered and Signed....where do I check the progress?

Check with your bank to monitor the deposit of your check by USCIS. You can get the case # from the back of your check. If you bank online, this is very easy.
You should receive NOA1 within a week or two. This will also have your case number.
After you have the case #, go here to monitor the status:
https://egov.immigra.../jsps/index.jsp

Welcom to the waiting game....

Thank You! That is very helpfull....yes the waiting game sucks I'm sure!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresaffidavit

You should submit as much information that is applicable to your petition. So, just doing the minimum with a bank letter might not cut it, it's always better to be safe than sorry. If you are employed you should submit this information in an employer letter.

THANX SOOOOO MUCH TO EVERYONE!!!!!!
I will for sure include all the possible proof I can get!!!!! I wouldn't want to slow down the process of seeing my baby ASAP!!!!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresaffidavit
For the affidavit form I-134 there are given 4 different items you can submit as proof of ability to support your fiancé(e), but it says you can submit one or all of them. My question is, if I just submit my bank information with a decent amount of money present and a deed for an apartment in my name, that fulfills 2 of the items, is that enough? I have a job, and an income (which I will show) but I have no pay stubs, is this a problem?

We filed on Feb. 14, on Feb. 25 we received NOA1 dated Feb. 16, so it basically took 2 days to arrive to NE, they made the NOA1 the same day it arrived, but they mail it until Feb. 22 so it arrived to our hands on Feb. 25.-

:P Happy for you!!!!!
Hope to have ours soon........... everyday there is the hope, but so far nothing. I check my online banking almost every 2 hours :(

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCheck cashed
It cashed!!!!!!
I checked the case number on the back of my cashed check online and this is what it said.......

Your I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E) was received on March 8, 2006. We mailed you a receipt with information about processing. It is taking between 30 and 45 days for us to process this kind of case. We will mail you a decision as soon as processing is complete.

They signed for the package on the 7th so does it mean they read over the package on the 8th, and deposited the check on the 9th?
Is this NOA!1???????????????

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresTOUCHED!

If the date was the only thing that had changed, and there was no new messege in the status (ex:an approval notice) then it means you were just touched and means usually someone is working on your case.
Approval should be on its way soon.

Thanx, I hope for a speedy response, and wish you the same!!!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresTOUCHED!
I checked my case online today and I saw the date had changed, hence it was touched...? Does this mean it may be my NOA2????
Plus I plan to be in Israel soon, I dont know how long from the time the embassy receives the paperwork to the time of the set interview, but i was wondering can i call and ask for them to schedule an interview date while I'm there next month so I can attend with my beloved fiance? Or is that not something that I can even hope for? :help:

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresa question on police certificates

I guess my fiance can start on it already(the certificate), the NOA2 was approved, and the packet is on its way to the embassy. Or am I wrong here too?

No - you are right on this. Have him also get his birth certificate, vaccination records etc. and you can start on the sponsorship papers (I134 or I864 depednign on what they require.) Good Luck

The birth certificate, does that have to be translated? He wasn't born in Israel, he's birth certificate is in Russian, so does he need it translated and notarized in English, in Hebrew or in both? Also he finished the Israeli army, does the certificate of completion have to be in English or can it be in Hebrew, he is undergoing the interview in Israel

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresa question on police certificates

From US Embassy Telaviv..Consular section (IV Unit)

Make sure you have requested the police clearance certificate for Israel. It will be sent directly to the embassy. However, if you lived in any other country for a significant period of time (approximately six months or longer since the age of 16), you will need to bring that police certificate from those countries as well. Present and former residents of the United States should NOT obtain any police certificates covering their residence in the U.S.

Aquelunya,

The second link scy posted will show you where to go to get the police certificate.

thanx, I'm reading up on it now, I guess my fiance can start on it already(the certificate), the NOA2 was approved, and the packet is on its way to the embassy. Or am I wrong here too?
AquelunyaNot TellingIsrael2006-03-26 11:45:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresa question on police certificates

The beneficiary organises getting the police certificates from all countries they have lived for x amount of months from the age of 16.

Confused  where does one go to get the police certificate, if from the age of 16, he lived in that same country the whole time...?
AquelunyaNot TellingIsrael2006-03-26 11:32:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresa question on police certificates
From what I gather the police certificates are sent by the embassy to the beneficiary after he/she fills out the packet 3? So basically the embassy abroad completes the certificates, once they have all the information and then send it back to the beneficiary so he/she can bring it with them to the interview. Am I correct? The beneficiary doesn't physically go to the police, do i have this right or no?

Thanx!!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHELP with packet 3
YES, you guys are right, there indeed is no fee for the forms ds230 ds156 etc... just for the medical and the $100 fee for the post office, My fiance was able to get a hold of a nice lady at the embassy who told him this. Also she did mention that at the post office he just needs to mention that he is paying for a visa and that they will know how to take care of it from there. My problem is SOLVED! YAYYYYY and my fiance is having his medical TODAY!!
I THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR HELP!!!!---I'd be in a panic without this site :P

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHELP with packet 3
thank you,
I have visited the embassy online and did not find this information there. Also they're very bad at answering their emails as well, I sent 3 so far, and no answer....seems I'm asking away into oblivion
Thank you for the input, I'll ask my fiance if there is a slip of some sort enclosed there....he did not notice any so far, would it be the paper that actually states on it please pay $100 to the postal office, on it? How does this slip look, can you describe? Just to be on the safe side i took your advice and did tell him to call the embassy....they're very bad at picking up their calls TOO  I tried several times before when I was tracking our petition.

Appreciate all your input on this

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHELP with packet 3
:help: PLEASE help me,My fiance just received the packet 3 from the Israeli embassy, and first of all the copies are awfully printed and he can barely make out whats what on the instructions. It says a fee has to be made for filing the DS230, DS 156, DS156k, DS157 in the amount ...such and such, but they fail to mention payable to whom AND IF He sends the payment with the packet or not. Also once the checklist is completed they ask to pay a fee of $100, and they ask to pay it at the local post office, but again fail to mention with what paperwork to go there with, and PAYABLE TO WHOM?????? If anyone can shed some light on this I will GREATLY appreciate it!
Thank you ALL

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNOA2 question
I got my NOA2 exactly 2 weeks after my NOA1 I believe. You can also go to the timeline sections here and search the timelines similar to yours and see how fast everyone else is receiveing their NOA's at the same service center. I can suggest checking out the guides section here as well, very informative!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDS-230 and DS-156

If my christian name (Wendy) is not listed in any of my official document (Birth Certificate/Passport), Do I need to fill in to the FORMs:

DS-230
Question 2 Other Names Used

DS-156
Question 9. Other First and Middle Names Used

For my G-325A, I did not fill in the All Other Names Used (Including names by previous marriages)

Did anyone come across this? Please help.. :help:

Thank you.

Wendy I dont know if I can help you, and were you married before?? It was not clear to me. If you were you should have put the surname on the G-325A.

As far as putting it on these other forms Ds156, as I am the US citizen I didnt have to fill them out, but I imagine you should put down all your legal names, if it was just my nickname I would not bother with it.
Hope this helps, and good luck

So I just got back from visiting my fiance, and he just received his interview date, MAY 15th !!!!
The DS230 got delayed in the mail (even though we sent it registered and the embassy is not so far from his house), and then there was Passover, so it took forever. I was hoping while I was there we could have the interview together. We didnt have such luck. I thank God though that we had the luck we've been having so far.
