Hubby made pepper soup last evening.......it was so hot, it set my insides on fire!!!!!! It was my first time having it and I will not no0pb.gif have anymore of that unless he can make it with less peppers.

My husband made some a while ago. He had made it so hot that neither of us could eat it laughing.gif

I don't do hot foods well and Joseph laughed at how I acted as if he had given me poison. He would even tell me if the dishes had "poison" in them when we ate out. We got more than one strange look from that.

Two years ago we went to this chop shop for lunch and I had one spoonful (took them 15 minutes to find me a spoon) and I had to be just about carried outside. I was choking and tears were streaming down my face. Bassi and his cousin carried me outside for "fresh air", but I think I was embarrassing them. laughing.gif I went hungry that day. I couldn't taste anything anymore anyway!

It's Your Time
Today's Scripture

“The vision is yet for an appointed time..." (Habakkuk 2:3).

Today's Word from Joel and Victoria

God has planted seeds of greatness on the inside of you, and He has predestined that those things in your heart come to pass. You may have had more than your share of unfair things happen in your life. You probably have plenty of reasons to just settle where you are. But understand, the depth of your past is an indication of the height of your future.

If you’ve been through a lot of negative things in the past, it just means that your future is bigger and brighter and greater than you can even imagine. It’s your time to step out and embrace all that God has for you! Are there dreams and promises that you’ve let go of? Are there things that God has placed in your heart, but because of time, because of disappointments, you’ve given up on them?

Today is the day to give your dreams a new beginning. Today is the day to allow faith to rise in your heart. Remember, what’s happened to you is not nearly as important as what’s happened in you, and you are stronger and wiser than ever before. It’s your time; it’s your season to move forward into the destiny that God has prepared for you!

A Prayer for Today

Heavenly Father, thank You for the destiny that You have placed in my heart. I choose to stand in faith knowing that You are working behind the scenes on my behalf. I am confident that I will embrace all that You have for me. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

I picked him up in the worst snow storm this year. WE had a two hour drive home in a snow storm, which was a blizzard just two hours prior. White nuckled and my gas pettle foot was stiff. He staying in the house for three days just sleeping, praying, and eating.

Yesterday morning he walked to the store for eggs. I am so proud of him.

My husband got to see me on Ice skates today. Not that I was on them too long. They killed my feet. He enjoyed watching the kids enjoy the activity. Maybe next year I will get him on the ice. He said it was something you had to see to believe.
He also said he thinks he is getting to enjoy the winter weather. I must be rubbing of on him, because I love winter as much as I love summer.

There is no way I could afford to pay that....it is not affordable!!!! The health insurance sucks for the company I work for and this is for a large GI practice. I am the only one covered under the plan and for good reason. Just felt bad for others, if they are not able to find other options most would probably choose to go with out.

Patience Part II

My loving and serving husband said ..we are leaving for the gym at 4:50, so I should start the car at 4:40. Yes honey. Don’t forget to turn all the knobs to the right. Ok I turn everything to the right. Yes all three knobs.

Missy gets in the car after spraying cleaner on the windshield to discover the first knob was off. Honey, why didn't you turn the first knob to the right. I did turn it to the right, but it was blowing cold air so I turned it off. I tried to turn the AC off, but it did not work.

You are so right P, I have to keep apologizing for myself. He tries extra hard to do as much as possible for me. Thank you for that. I think I will spend some time meditating today for some patience.

This morning my husband started the car for us before heading to the gym at 5:00 am. I hear him out the moving about the car, which I assumed he was brushing off the snow from the prior evening. After about 10 min he then starts the car.
When he comes in I am annoyed that he did not start the car and just come in so the snow will melt and be easier to clean off. I tell him how to do it the right way for next time.

We get outside to head for the gym after the car had been running for 10-15 min to discover that the windows are full of ice from snow turning to freezing rain I assumed. I get in the car to discover he never put the defrosters on. AAAHHHHH
The windows had a quarter inch of ice on them. He must have brushed the snow off the ice.

Well I just went in the house to take a shower and head of to work. I missed the gym, but not without great effort.

I was agitated, but how could I be when he was just trying to help.

Should I stop the kittin from bothering my older female cat who is fixed? Or just let her handle this. The baby cat gets behind the old cat when she comes in from outside to eat. I just think it is rude, but the old cat just eats. tries to hiss at times.

You are fortunate you were able to visit with him and enjoy him again in his natural surroundings.
My heart goes out to him, as I know it must be difficult to give 100% to this roll knowing that his wife is still in the US.

Thanks It has been a stress filled time. One sibling was going out of his way to cause problems in an effort to disrupt Josephs authority. I have found the process educational as I was not aware of all the traditions involved in the culture. Now besides our immigration issues he has to deal with being the head of his family as oldest son and in a little while taking his fathers title.

I was curious about what the "9" signify in the Bible and I found this

THE NUMBER OF JUDGMENT. There are 9 greek words derived from the root word meaning judgment = dikay. The following words each occur 9 times in the Bible: abussos (bottomless pit); asebee (ungodly); aselgeia (lasciviousness); and astrapee (lightning). The gifts of the spirit are 9 in number (1 Cor. 12:8-10): the word of wisdom, the word of knowledge, faith, healing, miracles, prophecy, discerning of spirits, tongues, and interpretation of tongues.

Good night ladies and gentlemen

Happy New Year Nagishkaw!
Did you discover anything further on the number 9 in the Bible? I would be interested on further information. Conclusion and judgment has a negative connotation to me. Is there a positive spin or perspective I should be enlightened about?

Here is the message I received from Joel Osteen on the 31st, but only received it this morning at work.

2009 is going to be a year filled with God's supernatural promises and provision for every area of your life. Begin now to look for, and expect, His favor and provision in your life. You've got to get a vision for the great things He has in store for you. Now more than ever, we need to fix our hearts and our minds on Jesus and the promises found in His Word. We need to take time every day to be grateful for God's goodness in our lives.
Wow that is just so validating.

Happy New Year! star_smile.gif

I have so much things to be thankfully this year. I never want to push God on to anyone, so please trust when I say his name it is in pure celebration and awe of what he has done for me and things I expect are coming.

I woke up to the New Year with an email in my box from a Job requesting an interview. I just submitted my resume the day prior.

My husband sent me to look at a scripture under Jon I was in Job. When I started reading he said no honey Jon. I said but don't you see Jon is where he sent you, Job is where he sent me. The scripture was just what I needed after a minor melt down last night. That without God might have sent me to the head-farm. *wink helpsmilie.gif

I fully stood on my lap top at the base of my bed and woke up to it still working. blink.gif

All week long I kept wondering what I needed to do to get a heart on my profile. This morning my profile has a heart added.

When i conducted spell check I had only one spelling error. wow.gif

I have not even been up an hour! I know that this is just an example of the great things to come forth in 2009. This will be my year of Expectancy!

How was my use of the emoticons. I see that if I am going to join you all in the SS, I should use them.

Last week my family wrote down what we were thankful from him in 2008. Today I will write my list of what I expect.

My original goal was to become a teacher, which is why I took a liberal art major to qualify for the Education Masters program at my University. Ah.. I started to think ..I am 30+ years old you can't afford to pay for grad school on a teachers salary. This was before I put my trust in my lord & savior.
So I decided to go to work, with my BA. My degree is in Communication. Although I thoroughly enjoyed the program, a theoretical based study really only gets you into grad school.

My goal is to own a large home with solar panels, a small farm with wind turbines, 1-2 milking cows, goats, chickens, large garden, 1 green house, and a horse for therapy. I can picture myself with 1-2 more biological children in addition to my 1 with any where from 3-5 foster children. The farm would produce enough for the home with extra for the small stand and family/friends or for bartering services such as hair cuts, massages, maintenance, and other stuff.

Now what Masters degree would help me get those things???? I would love to study Christian Theology. Maybe a Masters in Social Work would be more practical. I will pray on it and keep you posted.

Hey, it's all worth it in the end and eventually you guys will make enough money to laugh at those student loans. MrsJ, if you don't mind me asking...what are you planning to study in grad school?

Good to see someone else can see the humor in my new $350 monthly student loan payment. LMAO I have been working on addressing this once my husband was here and working. The wonderful news in all this, after 6 months of payments I can go to graduate school, which is my dream.

Correction: A better door is opened. I am so excited for you. I am stuck with a company that I love the mission, but my position has no hand in it.

My student loans are catching up with me, so I need to get a better job.

Funny story: my husband gave the collector mynumber at work. She told him she had a decission to make that needed immediate attention. He is so graciouse to give her my direct number and extention. Thats my husband looking otu for me. I only can laugh. We have a list of rules that he started..... #7 Do not give anyone my number at work unless it is an emergency with my son. Take a message.

OMGGG, MrsJ., the same exact thing happened when Booker arrived. I had a bill collector call me at work and they actually harrassed me there for a while. Anyway, the first day they called I asked them how they got my number and they said a man at my house number gave it to them. blush.gif Bless his heart. I called him and asked him what happened and he excitedly told me that someone called with an urgent message and he had been more than happy to pass along my work number with direct extension. ROFL rofl.gif rofl.gif For a while, he would also write down sales call numbers on the message pad. We had to have a serious talk that day concerning these "important" phone calls from certain people.

Also, thanks for the other message...I saw that it was no use and just went to sleep on the issue.

It was my perception after reading LovinLIberia's response that she fully understood your 1st & 2nd post. Your 3rd post reiterating the same message & information appeared to be borderline antagonistic. Now this is just my perception & opinion.

She admitted to her sarcasm and declared appreciation for you clarifying the situation. As a nominated Moderator for your history of accurate information and dedication to positive and supportive input & environment, I find that only 1 post was needed to identify your concerns and state your mission as a moderator to support VisaJourney's mission, values, & goals. Anything more became redundant and added negativity to the mission of the Cyber Café.

VJ Moderation, okay, you got your point across We all know the real reason it was closed. My first post in here was a sarcastic one anyway...thanks for clarifying the situation.
Hi P, long time no see!

LovinLiberia,

I stated the reason the thread was closed and you continue to bait Moderation with the highlighted. Please discontinue this course.

We fully realize there are underlying issues here, yet our mission remains the same in keeping the peace.

Please try to get along here, as borderline TOS violations will no longer be overlooked.

Regards,

William.

unsure.gif is all I can say. We are suppose to be VJ sisters in this forum, where is the love? Life is too short to be negative and to be attacking others or atagonizing others. We are suppose to come here to support one another and give sound advice to those who are seeking it.....why belittle someone, what does one get from it? I have seen it in other threads lately in this forum...lets lift people up instead of bringing them down!!!

Uno...its your turn to chime in here smile.gif Tell a joke or show a you tube video smile.gif

I am not in the best mood today...I was let go from a company that I have been with for almost 10 yrs sad.gif I have FAITH that GOD has my back...when one door closes..another one opens.

Africa: Sub-SaharanVJ members(USC and Beneficiaries) vs Lagos Consulate

I like this Idea!!!I think the best measure would be to alter the immigration laws. So rather than a denial in more ambiguous cases, they should simply put them on probation and make it harder to get LPR.

[b]I was in AP and had the same opionion as I do now knowing what I know. You can read my past comments]
"Nwanyioma" said that Enlighted wouldn't have said what she did if her guy hadn't been a #### but the comment can equally be reversed. if you found out your situation ended up like hers you would be upset and pissed that you were used and abused for a greencard. For that reason it needs to be harder to get a greencard. It should be simple, if you don't remain with your spouse then leave the US. If you're naturalised then fine, stay if it doesn't work out, but make it 5 years to get naturalised. If you're an LPR and it ends in divorce, go home. If you're abused, go home. It's pretty simple. Maybe set a timeframe like MUST remain together for a minimum of 5 years. I don't know many people that can "fake" a relationship for 5 years.

I gave up a lot to come to the US but I would go home in a heartbeat if it turned out my husband abused me, or whatever. It's hard to express exactly what I think without writing a huge post but basically it's this:

- "flag" those relationships you're not 100% sure off
- deny the relationship you ARE sure are dodgy (proof of lies or whatever)
- in the flagged relationships make the AOS harder to obtain, or the ROC. Keep track of them. Visit randomly to inspect their residence.

This allows loved ones to be together but if it doesn't work out then the USC is protected and so is the US government.

Enlighten one,
You are very courageous for sharing your story for how your husband scammed you. With that being said let me ask you a question: If you were to be in our shoes (that is your husband is issued a 221g or is denied and he didnt scam you) will you have posted what you posted today? I strongly doubt that. I personally dont think that its up to the CO's to determine if your SO is a possible scammer.
Nwanyioma

Ah, but my husband was in 221G. And I maintained the same attitude as I have through our AP. If you read through my post when he was in AP. REad all my post in the AP tracker thread. I said it is just another part of the process.

I am always suportive of people here, but know the number of fraud cases I have to also speak the truth or play devel's advicate. I know of more fraud cases then are posted on this site. People are too embarrased to post their stories.

You are possibly seeing more denials because of the increasing number of complaints filed of fraud. About 40% of these VJ relationships end up in those categories.
Yes, I am sure it is frustrating, but imagine how frustrated the people are doing their job to find out that they have been defrauded. That they trusted the person they interviewed and sent them to America only to find out that they mentally abused, used, and abandoned their US wife. These people have a difficult job to do.

this is just going to be a fact that US petitioners have to accept when they petition someone from a high fraudulent country.

Again..I have not once seen a woman openly say. Wow he was denied...I wonder what they seen in him that I did not. Most do not know their bennie anymore then what they are told along with a brief visit. So consulate have to trust our oppinions which continue to be proven wrong.

Not to diminish the pain, frustration, and hurt you are feeling, but I continue to stand up for these people just trying to do their job. Difficult one at best.

National Visa Center (Dept of State)Is the NVC fussy about passport type photos?
It gave exact directions on what they wanted for a photo. Why would you deviate from what they requested? You are optimistic to take a chance on submitting anything different then what they request.

You will probably get an RFE, because that is just the type of negativity you will attract to yourself.

I understand the photos must be in color and 2" x 2" (5 cm v 5 cm). Correct? Anyone get a RFE because of photos sizes etc? Is the NVC fussy about the photos?

National Visa Center (Dept of State)Confused with NVC
You should visit the link hat is on the title page from the NVC requesting the DS230. This directs you to a page that you select your embassy. That will tell you a list of documents you will need with the DS230. I was required to submit certified doc's with my husband's DS230.

Sorry to hear about you unnecessary delays. I had the same problem with my Lawyer's assistant. Then after she was fired, I discovered that my lawyer new less. My husband would have been here in December 07, if I did not loose a lawyer. Now we are looking at June.

I have a question here.....if you can help I deeply appreciate it.....

I recently was told by the operator at the NVC that my file still needed civil documents such as certificates of birth, marriage and so on. However my agent (more like a paralegal, boy do I wish I did it myself......another thread for that conversation) said that the only documents which were asked for at the time were the DS230 and I864 with supporting documentation (ie tax returns....etc.). That no civil documents were requested at the time. But the NVC operator told me that they needed to be sent in. My attorney already has all the documentation necessary and if they were requested I dont understand why they would not have been sent in. To make a long story short we now await the returned packet snail mail.

Who's telling the truth? Are all these documents sent in together or apart? I'm sooo confused and just plain out frustrated wacko.gif
