God's favour was with me all the way and i had an incredible confidence that i could not explain.the interview lasted 4mins. the CO only asked how i met my finace and how often we saw(we see ourselve regularly in london and lagos) and he said i wont have to spend alot of money eating chinese food in london anymore that i can eat dat in america..we even gisted about the university i graduated from in nigeria(one of the best christian private university in Nigeria owned by the lagest church in Africa Winners chapel), he said he has heard alot about the place and he has been there to see the facilities there(we always had constant 24hrs power supply which is not usual in nigeria).

I am happy i came across visajourney cos it gave me a proper insight about some certain things... i wish everyone out there waiting success and most of all have confidence cos the CO's are human beings like us. THANK Y'ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Middle East and North AfricaI must have fell and bumped my head :crying:
I do not agree with the USCIS approving the K1's faster then the K3. There is no reason why they should not take the same amount of time. When I viewed the paper work that was needed for the K1 proof of relationship I was relieved that we were married, But the time is substantial.

I have been patient, but as it closer to one year since I seen my SO, I am starting to plan a second visit. I would rather save the money for us when he arrives for vacations and college. It is a hard choice.

I want to talk to you about something serious... Internet dating. I have made many friends from on here...MANY! Out of all these marriages from the middle eastern marriages I know of ONE that is real. Where the man did not marry for the green card. I know I know I said, oh my husband didnt do that!!! But trust me , he did.

Please think twice before marriage.

I am filing for bankruptcy, I am losing my house, I almost lost my children... God think twice!!!!!

I pray that any of you who even question ONCE that he may be marrying for the wrong reasons... think about it. Marriages where they marry an older woman is a HUGE red flag. Sorry ladies, but it is true.

Good luck

This action is called Administrative Processing. This is typical for your Embassy. Please trust that this is just part of the process. Typically they do name checks and extended background checks in high fraud countries they do document verification.
Although devastating at first, just get back to the grind. This could take an average of 4-6 months, but can also go over a year. May your AP be expedited.

Please be prepaired that even after you submit this information, you might still be put in Admin Processing. This is common in your country. The fact that you said they are trying to find anything wrong to call you on this, but the truth is they coudl put you in AP if they wanted to make you wait an infinate amount of time.
The fact that they are just requesting some items, seems at the moment better then AP. Unfortunetly, it still does not mean you will go into AP.

Seems that you lived together is Egypt is great supporting evidence to a bonifide relationship.

You are in AP. Admin processing. Very common in your country. They could be verifying documentation or a more extensive backround check.
You are looking at an average of 4-8 months. MIght only be a couple of weeks or could be over a year.

Middle East and North Africaso confused about interview !!
Many people who have applied for a family based visa had applied for a student Visa. Just be honest about ti , because they will know.

Your evidence you will need will be letters, emails, phone records. Start the inception of your relationship and then until present.

There is a good chance you will need a DNA for your son.

There is a good chance you will be put in AP, which is common in your country.

I am so sorry for your story Beth.

Just some information on AP. AP is extremely common in your SO's country of origin. If you file in another country other than his, it becomes almost guaranteed. AP is just another part of the process in Algeria. When you find out you are in AP it is like a slap in the face. He is looking at an average of 4-8 months. sometime less and sometimes more. Have you viewed the AP tracker thread?
The USC has nothing to do with the AP at the embassy level. It has to do with the benefiter, but nothing specific just common practices at this point.

Sorry if this has been said already, but trying to avoid parts that do not pertain to your situation.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresRFE form NVC for DS-230
I stated above which question I had. my husband did not go back until the age of 16. So I had to fill in the blanks. I typed the email for my husband and then sent it to him to send. Although I was the acting agent after I fired my lawyer.

At the time I did not know if they would accept that email, but I took a chance. If they accept it gets your case back up and running. If they do not you still have to wait until you get the RFE package back.

If you clearly understand what information they need from you it would not hurt to email them this information. I can send you a note with the outline of my email. They accepted my email to fullfill the obligation of the RFE. Do not send another DS 230 as they do not recommend.
Then once your recieve the actual RFE you can submit it they way the request if you have nto recieved a responce from your email.

Send me a note if you are interested.

Can you send me the email which you sent to NVC on RFE. So I can email them ASAP.

thanks for the help.

chintan, NVC emai id is NVCINQUIRY@state.gov

Subject must contain NVC Case#, Beneficiary Full name and DOB.

You can describe the body of the message properly. Explain in detail about all those 3 questions and answers properly. Also, include USCIS I-130 Receipt# and Petitioner's full name and DOB.

We still don't know what Missy's RFE was for, since NVC is going to want you to resubmit the DS-230 - I don't see how emailing them the information will help and in fact it might just confuse them.

I had an RFE for my Husband's Canadian PR card, they told me I could just email it, I did - like 3 times - the case did not move until I submitted the RFE with the hard copy (photo copy) of the PR card.

That said, submitting a copy of a PR card to prove you are eligible to interview in a Country is quite different than them wanting a correction to a document that needs a signature (the DS-230).

Thanks

Hi Chintan,

For those two questions:

20. List below all places you have lived for at least six months since reaching the age of 16, including places in your country of nationality. Begin with your present residence.

N/A cannot be accepted here as it is asking you to state every place where you have lived since the age of 16, including in your own country. You have to have lived 'somewhere' so not/applicable is not an answer for this one.

22. List below all employment for the last ten years.

If you were not employed over the past 10 years, then perhaps n/a might be accepted. If this is your case, perhaps you should explain this to them by entering "I have not been employed in the last 10 years".

Hope this helps.

Now what should I do, Should I wait for the letter or mail them another copy of DS 230 to NVC. Please let me know as I am expecting to get the letter this week and how long will it take for RFE to process, if I get the letter tomorrow and send it by overnight mail to NVC.

Evidence taken to the interview:

They said they needed more pictures from our previous meeting other than our wedding. We had only taken 2 pictures together--not knowing what the future would hold and this crazy process.

1. I couldn't get his name put on our bank account because he doesn't have a ss#. So I gave them my bank information, and a letter from the bank manager stating all of my accounts were in good standing, and we've had international transactions back and forth along with a number to call them if they needed more verfication.
2. I had my old and new sscard information and passport to show my name change.
3. Passport information showing the dates I traveled. Copies of tickets.
4. Calling card transactions through pingo and comfi.com
5. Text messages, emails, chat logs, copied prints of mail.
6. 2007 tax forms. Copies of paystubs, proof of employment.
7. My parents even wrote a letter stating that they blessed our marriage and were there to witness. They rejected the letter.

I called NVC to ask what else they needed and they told me all they should've asked for was 2007 taxes. Go figure, they already have that.

My best guess is that my SO hadn't completed his medical shots, and they probable don't want him to leave until then. Otherwise everything else is a go.

What kind of evidence did you both bring to the first interview?

What I have is almost a year's worth of phone bills. We talk 2-3 times a day. Western Union receipts, Joint Bank Account records, boarding passes, Name change evidence. evidence of knowledge of marriage through name change, Life insurance policy through military. We also have the normal pictures. Pre,Wedding and post wedding pictures.

Is there anything else? We don't have much mail and email. No reliable internet access for my husband and the mail service sucks, they lose too much of what I sent him.

What kind of evidence did they ask for?

I think it is most important to see what the "green slip" states.
If it is denial, you want to get a lawyer involved right away. Interview them carefully, because some lawyers are not as experience as others with denials. Maybe even chose one that has been through your embassy. References?

You do not want your petition sent back to DOS.

Hope this helped a bit.
