Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g)just when i thought THIS WAS IT...
You need to join the AP tracker. This is the only place where you can make a little sence of the process. There is a good chance that after you submit your documents you will continue to be in AP. It is common in the MIddle East and third world countries. My husband comes from a high fraud so we were put in AP.

Hi there, my fiance is in the similar situation where he had to provide additional documents under 221(g). But when you submit additional documents it does not mean AP will be over. Actually it will be the BEGINNING!!! Only God knows how long it will take. After a month and a half we are still in AP.

Here's a link to AP Tracker to give you an idea about time frame

Good luck!

what the heck ??? its only the "beginning"?? I really thought we were almost there! Just when i thought the NVC was a pain, now these people! what did they ask your fiance for ?? and did they ask him for it at the interview? did they give him a letter also? with us they said "everything looks good BUT we need these before we can issue a visa"

QUOTE (MrsJibowu @ Sep 14 2009, 12:27 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Admin processing is just a term used when additional processing is needed. IT is general and common knowledge that you would need to bring pcitures to the interview of your relationship. AP is common place in your country of interview. It is just part of the process. Get what you need to get done for them.

I do not have information on the domicile. Sorry

thank you, i was told that they do this because some low life losers just get married in order to recive a visa then divorce! those losers ruined it for all of us i guess! how do you know AP is common in Jerusalem ?

She returned to do her CR1 in her country.

QUOTE (Mrs. Scott @ Sep 22 2009, 02:08 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I'm confused. A K-3 is a multiple entry visa; therefore, AP is not required. Since she already has a K-3, the Embassy will not grant her a CR-1 simultaneously. A married person can get a K-3 or CR-1/IR-1- not both. Hopefully, I did not confuse you.

Hi MrsJibowu,

A K3 is a multiple input and output visa and you don't even need AP (not our AP, advance parole) to come back in. She can come and go as many times as she wants within the 2 year period of validity of a K3 visa.

I have to say that I do not think she can. She has been stamped. She would need another visa to come into the country. Whether she was in AP or not. K3 is just until AOS. You can't come and go on a K3 as I see it. It is a one time entry visa.

As the topic title says, can this be done as she already has a valid K3 visa to the U.S.? At the CR1 interview they told her not to leave the country (Turkey) at the interview but they are fools, all our paperwork is flawless with endless proofs (I had a lot more at the interview but they did not even want to see it!). I don't trust them at all, they are the most insensitive, rude, and arrogant people. They should suffer for their treatment of people and hurting families.

My wife, who is 4 months pregnant, went to Turkey to get the CR1 visa after the AOS in the U.S. seemed impossible since they fumbled all of our paperwork at the POE and would not return her birth certificate. She was missing the Medical Exam (as we thought since she had her shot record this was good enough and they already accepted it at the K3 interview) and was put on AP (221g) because that was the one thing we lacked, that and a sensible competent interviewer but those are one in a million. They even made her wait 3.5 extra hours at the embassy after her interview time, never calling her number.

I plan on sending the US Embassy a letter written from my Doctor saying she must come back to the States to continue her OB treatment for the baby. Also, I have an uncle pretty high up in the Turkish government and I'd like to have him write a letter saying why do you treat our citizens like dirt. If things go bad, looks like my baby may be born in Turkey where I don't have medical insurance. These F' heads are hurting my babies future, what if he/she wants to be president. That is why I need to bring her back and maybe go back later once the AP is done. Can this be done? Thanks.

Sooner you submit the missing document ,quicker you will be getting the visa... I would try to obtain the document and sumbit it as soon as possible. Your wife will have another interview, and if everything looks good she will be issued visa.smile.gif But remember that once they put 221 g in the file, you have to overcome that 221 within 1 year, if you don't react they will revoke your petiton and send it back. Hopefully this won't happen, but be very careful.
I have been there, done that.smile.gif
Good Luck

They told us not to submit the missing medical exam until our case number shows up on the U.S. Embassy Ankara website. It will show up there after it is through Administrative Processing. The website and consular officer said that you send it through UPS to the embassy, you don't go there in person again... so no second interview. Everything already looked good as they told us "the paperwork looks good" and they did not even want to see the new evidence we brought to the interview. I don't think they can revoke our visa because of time since we are waiting for a CR-1 Visa which does not expire. I think you are confusing this process with something else...

Does anyone have concrete information on if my wife can come back on her K3 visa even though she is in Administrative Processing for a CR1 interview? Thanks.

She should have never returned back to your country where AP is common.

Why would you go on AP for just having missed a medical report??? Anyway, back to my question, can she come back on the k3 when she is on AP?

It is possible that you could get away with this, but I wouldn't risk it given the fact that the CO updates the DHS file to reflect the AP. By the way, this AP is not what you are thinking, all you have to do is give them the requested information and in a matter of weeks they will issue the visa. . .it is not an extensive security check.

Thanks for replying. What is a CO, Consulate Officer?

The person at the interview was very specific in saying we should not send in the green form with the missing medical report until our case number showed up on the Administrative Processing website of the Ankara Embassy website. She said this could take 2 months or even 8 months.

I will call them tonight and try to find out what is going on exactly. Lets see if I can get any answers or work out of them.

Hello Whidbey,

I am a little confused regarding your second interview. It was my understanding that your disclosure to the Embassy that you were visiting initiated the second interview. Or did they schedule a second interview, which you planned to visit because?

When I read your story assuming that your disclosure of a visit initiated the 2nd interview, I did not think this would end your AP, but only assist in their investigation. Now mind you this is all based on my assumptions to a situation that is unique (wife being available to interview for 2nd).
If they had other things they want to verify, i do not think your will be out of AP. Many people are put in AP for document verification, records verification, home visits. Now mind you AP is still a mysteria and can mean so many things.

I got an email from the embassy to send my passport on July,30,2009.

I sent my passport on Aug ,2,2009 .

Every time i send an email to ask about my case status i got the same answer '' the case is pending consular officer review''

On Thursday Sept 17,2009 the Embassy called me and they asked me for a second interview on Sept ,27 ,2009 at 1 PM.

I know it doesn't sound promising sad

I want to know if anyone here had the same situation ?!!!

I thought that they asked me about everything at the interview .so what will they ask me about this time ?!!!!

I wonder why they told me to send my passport and now they need me for a second interview?!!!

Dose that make any sense at all ?!!!!!!!!!!

Mohamed

Do you know the times and days of the week they hand out visas?? I ask because our 2nd interview is on a Thursday at 3pm (they hand out visas on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 3pm) I talked with Jessica at DOS and at first she thought it was VERY strange to have an interview in the afternoon she said she'd NEVER seen an interview in the afternoon. Then I told her the visa days and she said, "OH....... well then don't worry about a thing, everything is in order. Just be sure your husband brings his passport to get into the embassy." Now she didn't outright tell me that we are getting the visa but I could definitely tell by her tone and they way she said it that the interview is just to see me, maybe ask a couple of questions and then give us the visa.

InshaAllah you will get your visa soon!

I really would like to know something from everyone here on AP/AR that has successfully "extracted" information from a DOS rep:
How do you guys do it???

The reason I ask is because every single time I call DOS, I am NEVER told anything about whether my fiance is in security checks or the last date the case has been updated. Every time I ask, I am always told "We can't tell you that, we don't have that information." Which is not true, of course; because evidently, they CAN and DO tell someone what the last date on the case update is or whether security checks are being conducted or whether a file is in Washington.

I am sick of DOS constantly telling us NOTHING. Which is why I got my Senators/Congressman involved. Thankfully, I found out from the last inquiry done by my Senator that my fiance's case is in final review at the US Embassy in London. When the DOS rep told me "YOU DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO INFORMATION" when I asked her if she could at least tell me the last updated date on my fiance's processing, I told her that when my senators/congressman inquired, we were clearly given a written response from DOS that his case is in final review now, so why are you telling me that you cannot tell me when his case has been updated or whether it is still in review or in processing? And the DOS rep said to me: "Well, that's not right. Congressman/Senator staff workers cannot do that. That is WRONG." And she even snickered while saying this! How dare these people laugh and tell me this kind of b.s.? Our lives are on the line and I cannot even get a decent response from DOS.

It would be nice if someone could give us the "magic words" on how to ask DOS reps and get viable responses with regards to AP/AR.

I understand that we do not and cannot have access to detailed information about reasons for AP/AR/Security checks and what ever they do...but I am sure that we have the right to know whether a case is in processing, in review, or done, or the last date of a case update....

Am I wrong in thinking this?

It just means you are in processing. YOu will get random responses from people with different personality or moods. Your best bet when calling DOS is to ask if they can see any updates to your case. This tells them that you already know they can see a screen that has any updates for your case. For example I called one time to see if there were any updates and they said that the last update was the embassy sent you an email, which was true. To be honest the informaiton is not helpful unless they tell you that the embassy is finisehd AP or the Embassy has requested your Visa. THis has heppend to people who were in AP who had not received the request yet.

Hi, My wife called the DOS to check the Status of my AP, the woman on the phone told her " it was sent to processing" and she did not give her a chance to ask any other question. She just hang up the phone. What does that mean? My wife is really angry and feels insulting. Is it mean that my case still pending? My wife is ready to call them and scream at them. Ops

One more question. Can I call DOS to check my AP status? Or just my wife as USC has the right to do this? I wish I can do this because I really want my wife to have a break.

It is common when going through a different embassy that you will be put in AP. Then it is common for your country to be in AP period. It is good news that they kept you passport(typically), but they could also send it back to you in the mail if they realize how long your AP could be for your country. This is a typical 4-8 months. could be less and as demonstrated in this forum, it could be more.

Hello,

I am new to all this and a little confused. I am reading all these post and notice different scenarios. I applied for a spousal visa at the US embassy in Sweden. My case is currently in AP and has been since June 24th. The embassy has kept my passport, but given me absolutley no timeline. The only info requested, was info on my male relatives.

Does each embassy handle the AP processing or is it all sent to an agency in the US? Anyone have any experience with AP from the embassy in Sweden? The embassy has not sent my case to UCSIS, so I have no case number, is this good or bad? Does contacting a congressman really help? If so, how do you find your congressman?

Any advice or info is greatly appreciated. I take comfort in reading all your stories. May we all be finished soon.
