Usually they know that you are going on AP when you go into the interview. They keep the items they want to look at further to scrutinize. like pictures and correspondences. Verify document accuracy at the local level.

221g is just another step in the process for many embassies. From my time and investigations with AP I believe approximately 90% come out of AP approved.

I was upset the first few days after being put on AP, but then I went right back to the grind.

Stay strong, possitive and trust the proccess.

Hey Deb,
I have not asked him if he has gone to the embassy yet. I recomend your SO going on an informaiton day. they will give him his letter then. Similiar to when you never get packet 4 with the date of the interview. Usually they just go to the embassy and get the packet.

Oh yeah my so is Micheal too.

QUOTE (kelly1290 @ Nov 11 2008, 11:47 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Got a question for you Missy. DOS told me yesterday that the embassy sent a packet to my husband's home through DHL last week. As of yet, he has not received it. They said in that packet he will have a paper that has his interview date on it to take to the embassy (because you cannot enter the embassy without proving you have an appointment) and also instructions on what to bring with him on that day. He never has gotten a call from the embassy to come back. We only found out because I called DOS last week. My question to you is did your husband receive a packet through DHL informing him of his interview date and what to bring? I remember you saying that he was going to the embassy to find out what he needed. I just wondered what happened. I know your husband is going for CR1 and mine is going for K3. I don't know if the embassy handles coming back from AP differently because of it being different visa types.

Thanks for answering my millions of questions, lol. I am sure you are getting quite weary of me asking so much, lol!

Best wishes,

Deb

The Embassy did not tell my husband to bring anything with him. He already DHl' the stuff with the interviewer did not collect it at the 1st interview.

Hi all,

We have been on AP since August 12, 2008. I called the DOS this afternoon and found out AP is now complete and my husband will have his 2nd interview on December 8, 2008.

I have a question though. Is he supposed to bring all the evidence he brought with him to the first interview? I know he will need to get another police certificate because the other one expired in July.

Thanks,

United KingdomFiling the K1 Visa in the UK
Welcome Stevi,or as they say in Nigeria "your welcomed"
Thank you for adding me to your friends list. I will do the same. This is a great place to be with lots of wonderful and amazing people.

I have to say that after a review of the K3 and K1 filers timelines, it is quicker to go through the K1 then the K3. Although there is a lot to do to prove your relationship. The K3 seems to be catching up with K1 though.

Good luck,

I am so sorry to hear the news! I though or should I assumed your SO would get better treatment because he was in the UK. I guess it was the complete opposite. It is frustrating when the embassy employees take advantage of our delicate disposition. They have less than an ounce of compassion for our or his situations. Sorry for the delay, but it is in God’s hands as usual. But the immediate news is disappointing.

It is just a pause for reflection and move forward and wait for the rewards of your patience.

Stay blessed Stevie! You have to keep your spirits up since you are what keep ours up.

Do you guys think being born in a different country but still a British citizen makes you more likely to be put into AP?

I'm trying to ascertain our chances of being totally heartbroken after the interview. Jon was born in South Africa, not really a high-risk country but.....

Hello Krysti...well I was unaware of people being put on AP if they were born in another country but UK citizens...
until KnightandMagpie's and DairyFarmer's cases came along. It is becoming more common for people who are non-UK born UK citizens to be put on AP. DairyFarmer was born and raised in Australia...so that is not a high-risk country by any means whatsoever, but still she is on AP unfortunately.
For people who are residing in the UK not as citizens but as students on UK student visa or any other legal residency visa...AP happens for sure as VJ statistics show. And generally, having a common name is also a very frequently-reported reason to be put on AP for security checks.

So these are the reasons people are being put on AP in London:
-Having a common name
-Being born in a different country BUT were raised in the UK and lived there all his/her life and is a UK citizen
-Foreign nationals residing in the UK on a UK student visa

Don't stress about it too much!
-Marm

Well....now it's our turn to steam.

Alla was first up for her interview today. She got the woman CO. I don't have many details but Alla gave her the paperwork as instructed. Of course little Leonid was running around or crying so Alla was distracted. At one point she asked her "How much did it cost for the website? (Elenas Models) "It was free for me." "How many men did you meet?" "None, only one, Phil" She asked for our evidence of ongoing relationship and just shuffled through it without really looking at any, and kept asking for more. Alla gave her everything, the FedEx receipts, my birthday card to her written in Russian, and she kept asking for more evidence.

Alla said she was very nice and always smiling but in the end she gave her a 221g form and said they needed more evidence.
On the form she checked the boxes asking for More Emails, More Photos, More Phone receipts.

I had purposefully spared them by not printing out the mountains of emails and they did have all my phone receipt summaries. We don't really have a ton of photos together so we will most likely just print them out again and resubmit what they already have.

I told Alla to go to the Kodak print shop with the emails on her flash card and print out a couple of reams of emails.
I'll be sending to her more Skype summaries, Skype videoshots, and another longer Letter of Intent to Marry (which I'll probably get notarized).

Two upsides:

1. They did take and retained both Alla's and Leonid's passports

2. Tim's Tonya and her little one were next in line and they were approved.

Of course we're both pretty depressed right now but we will overcome. #######!

I have read from several reputable sources,Oprah's Dr. Oz as one, that doing resistance training is more beneficial to burning fat then actual aerobics.

I have also heard, but do not know how true it is, that any aerobics over 30 min is not beneficial as taking a break and working out 30 min another time..

When my bananas get too riped, I put them in the freezer. Then I either ad 1 egg white, skim milk and 2 table spoons of peanut butter for breakfast or at night I add frozen blueberries and raspberries with a dapple of cool whip. The kids love them too.The frozen banana really takes on an ice cream texture.

Europe & Eurasia (except the UK and Russia)who has similar experience should please share
Lawyer is giving your wrong information. YOu need a lawyer to get your current petition attention.

Baby does not solidify a realtionship. IF that was the case there wouldnt be so many single moms in America.

Today we have been able to get a good attorney for our case and he said we should re-file,he is charging $3000 for all..This is reasonable to others my wife had talked to since I got denied.I could see clearly that not all the immigration attorneys are professional and what will be good for us.My wife has come to Africa twice in six months to see me and we are expecting our baby in few months and I was told about the DNA evidence to prove my paternity of the child and for them to know that our relationship is not meant for immigration purpose has the consular officer said...My question is that is it good that we are no longer considering the APPEAL OR THE MOTION TO REOPEN..Also I wanna know if I should wait for the baby to be born before refiling another petition cuz by then we will have the baby's birthcertificate to prove that our marriage being consumated. I think the period of the next interview might be closer as I really feel upset by the refusal of the consular officer who beleived cuz we had a short engagement or how we met online means that our relationship is fraud..I wanna hear your advice on this and whoever that have similar experience should kindly share there experience..

Our interview is next week on Dec 20th at Mumbai Consulate. I am really nervous and apprehensive... any pointers/tips to keep in mind before the interview?
Hoping things go well. Wish us luck.

Thanks.

Hello, I was looking at your timeline, which is close to mine. I will have to keep in touch with you. Did you use a lawyer?

It was hard leaving him and I did cry, but it has been so long I fell like I am back to my old routine untill I get his phone call. The we just got the request for the fees for the consulate that excited me. AFter viewing many timelines though it looks like we have about 2 months till our interview. OUCH!
Have a reat day all!

I am pretty computer savvy, but this site can be complicated at times. took me 5 minutes to figure out how to reply.
