Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	CSC response today	...but that's because we sent in an older I-751 version in our packet and they requested the newer version 02/07. I have to add that our file was returned all together in a ACCO fastener and they got as far as endorsing our check. Fortunately, we were able to resend the the newer I-751 version by post today. That just goes to show you...make sure you send in the latest version regardless of expiration date. Now the countdown begins all over again and it's a race between USCIS and the State Dept...today, we sent in our daughter's paperwork for a passport, as well. Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	CHANGE OF ADDRESS	Hello, I have not applied for removal of conditions now. My wife still has some time before we need to do so. I was wondering if we have to update our new address after moving to a different city after getting her 2 year conditional green card? When we do apply to remove conditions do we just do so at our nearest jurisdiction (USCIS office)? Her original 2 year conditional GC interview was in Los Angeles. We are in San Diego now. As a permanent resident(conditional or otherwise), you have 10 days to notify the government using the AR-11 form click here. When removing conditions, you must file with the nearest service center, i.e California Service Center in Laguna Niguel. Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	Nov. 1st expiration date	Ok, after reading these posts I'm freaking out. My hubby's exp. date is Nov. 1st so does that mean that we're going to have to pay the new fee since the 90 days doesn't start till August 3rd?? If so, would the post office postmark the letter on the 29th and then let me wait to mail it on Aug 1st so it doesn't get there too early?? Ugh! I can't afford to pay any more than the $275 we were planning on...we're closing on our first house in a couple weeks. Sorry to have to tell you this, but the USCIS determines the fee by the GC date, not the postmark. They will look at the GC date and if the 90 days is after July 31, they will expect the rate increase. After you apply to remove conditions, the 1st NOA you receive will extend the GC for one year. Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	Just mailed I-751	Hey everyone, I just wanted to let you all know that I mailed my I-751 today by Express Mail to the California Service Center. I am hoping that I have beaten the fee increase (it will be postmarked today, July 26, 2007). But we all know how the USCIS can be, and I'm not counting on anything! I will keep you updated on the progress, which will hopefully be soon. Does anyone know where we go to check the status of our petition online, or where we find out if it has been received or not? I remember checking online with my I-130 but that was forever ago now and I can't remember. Also, I concentrated mainly on the time since I received my conditional residence, rather than from the time that we were married (the USCIS should already have all that info from our I-130 and CR1 applications, right?) for my evidence of our marriage. I know the instructions say from the time the marriage began, but I think my evidence would have been five hundred pages long that way, and even with the way I did it, the packet is about an inch thick. I know it's better safe than sorry, but I hope my evidence will be enough. Any opinions on this? I'd especially like to hear if anyone did their evidence in the same way as I did and didn't have any problems. Thanks guys! Congrats on beating the fee increase. Your NOA with a WAC number can be checked at USCIS website. If you sent out your paperwork Express Mail, you can ck USPS website with the tracking number to tell you when they received it. Today at around 12h00 I received this message: "On December 12, 2012, we scheduled you for your oath ceremony and sent a notice providing the date, time, and location. If you move prior to the scheduled ceremony, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283." I can't wait to found out when and hopefully before the end of the year if not at least I will know the date. US Citizenship General Discussion	N-400 July 2012 Filers	Hi there, I passed my interview in Norfolk VA on October 5. I've heard nothing since and when I called after 45 days was told that the USCIS website was not correct, and in fact I had to wait 90 days before they will accept an inquiry! This whole process has been frustrating from start to finish with the inequities in the system. It does seem unfair that you can get a totally different service from different offices (those that have oath ceremonies on the same day), while others just wait and wait and wait. Oh well, nothing new I suppose and I am just grateful to be at the end of this dreadful process, just venting!! Thanks for listening Congratulations to those that are now citizens and good luck to those still awaiting interviews - one thing's for sure, we'll all be citizens in 2013! Wow.....they said to wait 90 days before inquiry?????.....if we don't get our letter, we will still try the 45 day mark, as the website says, and see if we get the same information...... Please post as soon as you get your letter and we will do the same so we can give each other hope.....I know three other people in the area waiting for oath ceremony that interviewed in Norfolk. To others waiting, may things move quickly for you. As for us, we did pass our interview on 10/31 ( changed from 30th due to Hurricane Sandy) and got a notice from USCIS saying we were placed in the que on November 2nd for the oath ceremony, however, we haven't heard anything else since. I know a couple other people in the area that are also waiting for the oath ceremony, so not sure what the hold up is on that down here in South Eastern, VA. US Citizenship General Discussion	N-400 July 2012 Filers	My interview was scheduled for October 30th. The local office (Boston, Ma) was closed, so ALL interviews are now going to be placed on the next available date. I am sharing this with anyone who lives in the same area and maybe can share their experience and also tell us if you have received any notice form the USCIS. I called them the same day and the 1-800 line said it could be up to 4 months from now. I hope someone from the areas affected by the storm has better luck. Hey Beantown.....we were in the same situation but down here in Norfolk, VA......ours was actually scheduled the same day as yours and our office was closed as well.....we took a chance and did a walk-in the next morning and they accepted us.......did you try to walk-in with your original appointment letter or did you only call? US Citizenship General Discussion	N-400 July 2012 Filers	Today my husband passed his interview!!!!!! It almost got postponed but we didn't give up...... He was originally scheduled for yesterday at 9:20am in Norfolk, VA. As we watched the storm on Monday, we checked the website and it said that the office was going to open up on Tuesday (our appointment day) on a two-hour delay. So, we drove there and waited for a few hours before we realized that we misread the website and it was actually closed that day. The website also said that the appointment would be rescheduled and no action would be needed on our part; however, walk-ins would be taken on a case-by-case basis. There were two other couples in the parking lot waiting with us who were scheduled for interviews too. We all decided that we would show back up in the morning and take our chances of walking in. We exchanged numbers to keep each other posted and left. This morning, when my husband and I arrived at 8:00am, I saw one of the couples at the front of the line about to enter...when I saw the security guard look at their appointment letter and then let them in, we were so excited. We got in line and then we were let in on our previous day appointent letter as well. I immediately text the other couple and let them know we got in.....they were on their way. The USCIS workers were very friendly and did a great job of working us all in between their regularly scheduled appointments. All three spouses that were being interviewed passed today....we were all so excited. My husband's interview was very thorough and the lady spent a lot of time going over his application. We had all necessary documentation and he answered questions regarding a business trip out of the country and some tax questions. Also, when we filled out the N400, we had forgotten to mention a "fix-it" ticket he got for a headlight that was out on our car but we remembered while reading other people's experiences on Visa Journey so my husband had went to the courthouse and got a certified copy of the dismissal....so when the lady got to that part of the application he told her about it and gave her the paper. She said it was good that he had that. He was asked the current governor of our state, the first president of US, what do you show loyalty to when you become a citizen of US, what did Martin Luther King, Jr. do, name two US national holidays, and what was the main concern of the US during the Cold War. He was asked to read, "Where does the president live?" He was asked to write, "The president lives in the White House." When he finished with everything, he was asked to sign some papers and was told he was being recommended for approval. She said her supervisor would look everything over and then make the final decision. If anything else was needed he would be contacted within the week otherwise he will receive his oath date in the mail. We are so happy to be one small step away from the end of this journey. We will let everyone know when the oath date is once we get it.....We hope everyone has a speedy interview and oath. US Citizenship General Discussion	N-400 July 2012 Filers	No 5 only. Like I said they will ask sixth question if one is wrong. I asked a person who recently had the interview. They usually stop at 5 if all of them are correct. They will ask you a question and they will write down the answer whatever you have given. Congrats..Hopefully all will be fine. Just realized no one updated my chart since I was in line for interview scheduling (09/19/12), interview scheduled (09/21/12), received interview letter on 09/28/12.
