IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures3 months and still no NOA 2
same thing here. I filed in mid December and still havent heard anything. We can expect to wait another month or two to get approval. People at Missouri and California Service Centers have been receiving their approvals end of March, beginning of April. But VSC has other plans for us unfortunately. I have no clue whats going at VSC. How long does it approve the darn thing when you have been sitting on it for months?

Does my wife has to carry her huge X-rays to the POE and all time on the plane? Do they ask for X-Rays? or do they just ask for Passport and the BROWN Envelope? Or she can just put the X-RAYS in her checked in luggage?

Thanks

Hello
few days back in submitted my ds-230 wid all required documents.......................................................................

Now i was 16 yrs old in 1998 ... the information i provided was from 2003 so thats my mistake i guess as i thought of giving information about recent 5 years only.
So my confusion is that in 1998 i used to live in same city where i live presently , then in 1999 i moved to Europe for studies till 2006. from 2006 im living at present adress... so i have submitted police report of my present residence and from Europe. but now that i will have to fill about 1998 and rest of years too.. do i need to present a new police report about that even though i was living in same place as im living now?
i hope you understand wot i m asking about...
so help me to know wot im supposed to do next?

nope, you are just fine with the two police certificates. it doesn't matter you've been living overseas, it's still the same place where you returned and where you used to live before. one police certificate for that place is enough. good luck a fellow lucky February filer good.gif

thanks i guess we need it.. as our case has moved slowly as could not collect and submit all documents ... they took some time... but now hoping to get it completed from NVC

I'm not sure what the police certificate situation is like in the place you are currently living - so i'm not sure what the answer is. For Canada it doesn't matter if you have lived here on and off for years or if you have never left the country - the police record check they do covers all years - so only 1 is required.

Unless your actual police certificate says - only covers from say 2005-2009, then it should not be an issue.

well i guess so.. it does not say about years so i guess it shud be valid for all the time
thank you

Hello

Today i got mail from NVC that states "
In reviewing the form that you submitted, we note that the section pertaining to applicant residences from the age of 16 is
either blank or incomplete. The applicant must list all places lived for at least six months since
reaching the age of 16. There must not be any gaps greater than six months. You will need to
complete and submit a new form with the changes. Your visa application cannot be processed
until this form is complete.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWhat are the conditions on a CR1?
Hi Dr.Gracey nice to hear from you... Yes you can do on line too because it's kinda difficult to travel to another state and review, though Kaplan offers hotels where you can stay, but having a child is also difficult since you can't just leave them...Firstaid is what I am using now,step1 USMLE as my guide reference,i also have FIRST AID Q&A for USMLE STEP 1,FIRST AID CASES for the USMLE STEP 1..though of course different doctors will say different things when it comes to review centers or reviewers that is really of help..if your friends say so then it's good they could guide you;like me i also depend on my relatives and classmates as well now working in the US for advice, since it's really difficult for me to review over and over again, doing all those memory recalls...sometimes i find it boring already and it makes me sick.. crying.gif but I am sure you'll find it easy because you're practising it.Good luck on your journey,God bless you.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWhat are the conditions on a CR1?
Yes ,need to pass the step 1 fist;but we can take the step 1 anywhere since this is computer base, even in the Philippines we can take it there, same as for step 2,though the step 3 ,it is taken in US...practical part of the exam, diagnosis of patients,P.E.,labs. to order and how we can deal with patients from the time he comes in the clinic;observers/doctors will be there to grade;i am sure she'll pass this with flying colors because she is practising her field in the Phil .. my cousin in Maryland told me ,eventhough he finished his residency at Phil.Gen. Hospital ,internal med too like your wife. he still repeated his residency training here in the US...i am using a guide book for the mean time, the USMLE STEP 1 ,it's really useful, all information is there ,on what to do,what books to review and requirements. With regards to PA,even doctors can't be PA,it is a rule that to be aPA,one should undergo training and have certification, eventhough you're an MD already, you still need to study the PA course, which i find ridiculous, since MD studied 10 years and intense training is provided for us...

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWhat are the conditions on a CR1?
When i went to DMV they told me i can use my international driver's lisence that i got from the Phil.but after that i also took the test at DMV and i already have my driver's lisence.
Now i am reviewing for the board exam,i bought books for the USMLE,trying to review on my own first as what my friends here told me,then i will try to get in touch with a review center like Kaplan...
Teaching is good but then i'd rather work in a clinic or hospital setting, for the mean time i am enjoying myself as a housewife taking good care of my husband while he goes to work;glad he likes asian food...and of course trying to be patient waiting for the NVC to send my son's schehdule crying.gif ...we are asked for further documents that we're working on now. ...kinda depressing..

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWhat are the conditions on a CR1?
With regards to greencard.. Upon entering US,she'll have her greencard and she'll be able to work, able to get a joint account which you can use as evidence of bonifide marriage after 2 years to remove the condition;my husband and I make it a point that the bills like phone, electricty are both in our name, and our immigration lawyer ask me to collect it for the removal of the condition after 2 years, application starts 90 days before the issued greencard expires. She can also travel in and out of the US without any problems as long as she carry her greencard when she travels out of the country.
I had a hard time opening a bank account before when i haven't had my greencard yet, banks require greencard and Social security number even if you have USC husband or wife.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWhat are the conditions on a CR1?
Hi just want to share my experience when i first went to US;I have an international drivers lisence that i got from the Philippines before if left,it is valid for one year,i was able to drive anywhere;and then i got a booklet from the DMV to study so i could take the driving computerized test;after which ,i was able to pass the actual driving test next and able to drive now. With regards to practising medicine,i can't ,because i need to pass the USMLE first,it is a 3 steps to be able to practise;i tried to apply as a medical assistant but just the same,.some clinics eventhough you're a doctor from another country, they would still want an applicant to have the medical assistant certiificate, some don't require. It depends on the clinic managers what their requirements are.I know she'll be able to get a job fast because she is intelligent and professional.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresMy wife's interview today, not good.
To be precise, this is we received:
It’s blue cover sheet stating:
Dear Immigrant Visa Applicant:
The Consulate is unable to issue you an immigrant visa because according to the section of the Immigration and Nationality Act listed below; you are currently ineligible:
(A checked box) 221(g) (lacking Documents/Further Processing)
(A checked box) For information and steps you can take to overcome this decision, refer to:
(A checked box) the attached sheets
Further consideration will be given to your visa application after you obtain and present the documents on the attached sheets and/or the following:
(Handwritten) - photos of applicant and daughter since childhood
The following pages are white and the checked boxes are:
A detailed statement, written by the petitioner, describing the evolution of your relationship. Be sure to, at the very least, explain how you met, when you started dating, and how, when and why you became engaged.
A statement, written by the petitioner, listing every trip s/he has taken to China to visit you and explain how you spent your time together. Include dates and locations. Explain who arranged his/her trip China, purchased his/her tickets and who accompanied him/her.
Explain in detail your relationship(s) with your ex-spouse(s), explaining how you met; whether you filed an I-130 petition for this spouse; how long you lived together before separating or divorcing (give dates and locations); how many children you had with this ex-spouse and who these children currently live with; and why you got divorced.
(Checked) Petitioner’s ex-spouse(s)
(Checked) Your ex-spouse(s)
A notarized copy of petitioner’s passport pages clearly showing Chinese visa and entry/exit stamps. Copy the entire passport, even if some pages are blank. Properly notarize each page as seen and compared to original by notary. All entry and exit dates must be legible.
Photographs taken of you and your petitioner together since you first met. Describe as much relevant information as possible for each submission, such as all individuals in photos, dates, locations and photographer. Label photo albums with your case number and name.
Photos of your wedding ceremony or celebration. If you did not celebrate, or you celebrated but didn’t take photos, submit a credible explanation.

Thanks for your responses. I'll start getting the photos re-printed, get started on a stronger EOR statement, a statement about my trip to China, show I paid for my tickets and visa, a statement about my exes' and have my wife draft one for hers and have it translated at the Civil affairs office. I guess I supposed to mail it all to her and she mail it to Guangzhou? Should I be e-mailing the consulate? Not sure.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresMy wife's interview today, not good.
Today, my wife had her interview. I got a call from an attorney who apparently works by the Embassy or in the Embassy. I knew the news would not be good. She got a 221g. The attorney then briefly told me of the reasons for the denial and informed me that our case is complex. He told me that my wife would like to hire him to take the case. Then, I said “okay, how much?” He responds $600 down and $3,000 when the visa arrives. I declined for now. My wife had the 221g scanned and sent to me. It appears I needed more photos. Remember the lost mail I sent back in November, well that had 176 photos of me with my wife, friends, family. It also mentions VHS and DVD, which I found odd. I thought they declined electronic media. They also want an EOR. I had one signed, notarized, scanned, front loaded and sent her the original along with 288 pages of daily chat logs. They want a detailed statement of all the times I went to China and how we spent our time together. Again, was in my original 2 page EOR. They want statements from both of us regarding our ex-spouses, how we met, how long we lived together, number of children and reason for divorce. I guess they want you to be divorced for more than a year before you re-marry. BTW, this is the first time I filed an I-130. They also want copies of my passport showing the entry/exit stamps (which I front loaded and sent), but they want every page notarized. They want photos of my wife with her daughter during her childhood. I don’t know if I need to hire an attorney or not. I don’t know if this is a complex case. I also think it’s a little late to try to fly back to China at this stage. I think I just added another 3 months or more to getting her and her daughter a visa. But then, I guess they can still deny even if I submitted everything they require. No offense, but I don’t want anyone to feel sorry for me, just need some good options. Thanks. Not sure how to load the scanned 221g.

I am confused though - are you filing for the IR1 or AOS?
