K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDoes anyone know how far CSC are with Dec filers?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresTracyTN prayer thread
I'm praying for you too ... I'm a December filer and seeing people everyday who sent in theirs after us get approvals is very depressing and stressful, so I can only imagain what you are going through. I really wish there was more that can be done , this whole process is just the most horrible process and the people at the CSC (or wherever) just dont understand the way our lives are affected by this. They can just leave their desk at the end of their shift and go home to their loved ones, while we sit here waiting - all because they looked at the petition, thought it may be complicated (although it may not be) and put it to the back or aside and forgot! I wish you all the luck in the world for your approval. x

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresIs K-1 better option in my case?
[quote name='ramos96' post='1010631' date='Jun 26 2007, 11:20 PM']Again I beg to differ with you all.

Yes they are probably happy they are leaving, but yes he is SUPPOSED to be notified and he is SUPPOSED to be red-flagged if he has a deportation order issued by a judge. That was the big deal after 9-11, INS was not red-flagging people properly and notifying them, they are supposed to be doing a better job of it now, but are they in reality, I highly doubt it, there is not enough man-power to update all the records. It is this slack or ineffectiveness why I give them a decent shot of actually getting thru the process and again unless they were CONVICTED of a criminal offense, these orders probably vacated themselves and are not even in the computer system.

Sincerely,
Ramos

They obviously have the information in the system, they took his fingerprints when he left the states, that is not normal, they will usually take fingerprints only on entry to the U.S. Anyway, regardless if the details are in the system. He will need to tell the truth when applying for the visa, and therefore will need to state that he overstayed his visa, had to face immigration court, didn't show up for the courtcase etc. The fact that he didnt attend college when he had a student visa will also come to light on the G-325a forms. He will need to put down the last 5 years jobs/schools attended and the last 5 years addresses. Unless he is to lie, then it will show up.

United KingdomPeople who are from the UK!!
Ok - so i had my photo taken at Mildenhall base - people in the military go there for passport photos, spouses go there for visa photos and I assumed that as it's the us govenment that have these people on the base (an american company) that they would do it right. Everything looked good - got my 2 passport pictures taken for $5.75 and now I've checked the photo spec and it says about having to have 1/2 inch between the top of the photo and the top of my head - but there is just over 1/4 inch space! Does this mean they wont accept this photo? My fiance got his passport picture taken there and his was accepted and when i was there i asked if anyone had been turned away with the photos they take and they said no. What u guys think?

United KingdomPeople who are from the UK!!
Thanks for all the advise guys - I was about to pop into Snappy Snaps but then I realised that I would be able to get them done on the airforce base so it would be ALOT cheaper and I guess they are used to taking passport photos the way that the us want them!! :)

I'm going to get my passport photo taken very soon (want to do it tommorrow) and was going to do it in a photo booth (I used that for my passport). I've been told that they wont accept a photobooth passport shot - where did you get your passport photo taken? Thanks

United Kingdominterview experience for those with divorce

JamalNTamFemaleUnited Kingdom2007-01-29 14:49:00
United Kingdominterview experience for those with divorce
OMG! I'm so worried now! I dont have the marriage certificate! It took 6 months to get the divorce from my 'ex-husband' in Tanzania! He basically 'tricked' me into getting married when I was 18 - which was 5 years ago! I never saw him again - but because of this process decided to contact him and find out about it - he then took ALOT of money from me and got the divorce over there and took forever to send me the decree. What the hell am i going to do if they ask for the certificate? I cant go to Tanzania! And I never changed my name - I was never even known as Mrs, married or anything - I'e always had the same name and been single!

United KingdomWhat does everyone plan to do work wise when they come to the states?
OR .. alternativly... what have you been doing since you moved to the states? Its interesting to know what the non us spouses do once they get there!! :) Me - my plan is to attend college full time (dental assisting) while Jamal is still in the military and then later on do a degree in dental hygene! All I've been doing is customer service and office work and I'm FED up of it! lol!

United KingdomDo you think this is realistic??
Thanks for the response :) Luckily all my things are already in the states in our apartment (as Jamal is in the military and my stuff was shipped with his!). I'm staying with my parents now coz I was living with Jamal before he went back to the states. I'm temping at the moment so I only require a weeks notice (and not even that coz they know whats going on) and also we're gonna get married in Vegas (a small little wedding!) so we can obtain the wedding licence just the day before! I already have my dress and everything I need for it (we have been preparing for a while!!) so I wont need to go 'shopping' for anything when i'm in the states. We basically wanted to get married as soon as we can when I arrive in the states so we can get on with the AOS and get on with life together as soon as possible!!!
JamalNTamFemaleUnited Kingdom2007-03-03 16:19:00
United KingdomDo you think this is realistic??
The more I worry about not seeing a touch or anything, the more I think my plans wont happen! Basically I was REALLY hoping to get married on the June 7th (we havent made any plans, but we want to start soon!) and sending my K1 of on 1st December I thought that this was a reasonable amount of time. I'll be going through London and was just wondering if anyone can help me know if this is realistic??? Also because I'll be attending college in the fall - I need to apply in June - another reason which we were hoping that I would have visa in hand by June!!! Also Jamal is coming to the UK in 3 weeks to see me (for 2 weeks!yipee!) so do you think its wise for him to bring everything that we need for the next step (adv of support etc???)

United KingdomUK Judgement for non payment of debt

Threads dealing with this particular topic bug me. Figure out a way to pay what you owe, IMHO.

The thing is, you don't know the situation of the OP. There are lots of reasons for having an unpaid debt, not necessarily due to frivolous spending on sex, drugs and rock n' roll. The OP has asked for help in what to do, she already posted she was going to contact the company to try to work something out. So aside from making you feel holier-than-thou and the OP feel like #######, what use was your comment?

Yea - U go Candace! I 100% agree with you!!

United KingdomMedical
I know its all been asked before, and I'm sorry for that, but the search on this site never seems to work when I want it too!! I called NVC today and they confirmed that they have received the case and gave me my LND number. I've been told that I can now book my appointment for my medical with that. Do I have to wait for packet 3 or can I just go ahead and make an appointment? If I can does anyone have the details of the place I need to contact??? Thanks everyone!!! :)

United KingdomOne more question ....
Jamal is the USC. The name on his birth cert is a double barrelled sir name due to an error that was made when his birth was registered. The name he uses and has been using is just a single name sirname, this is what is on his passport.
JamalNTamFemaleUnited Kingdom2007-03-14 15:15:00
United KingdomOne more question ....
I'm in the uk forum so I was wondering if anyone who've had their interview in London could advise me? Trouble is Jamals Birth cirt has a slightly different name than on his passport (long story) and we are worried it might delay us if we have to produce his birth cert and not his passport. Thanks :)
JamalNTamFemaleUnited Kingdom2007-03-14 02:43:00
United KingdomOne more question ....
For the interview do I have to show copy of Jamals birth cert (usc) or is a copy of his passport like we used in the original petition ok?

United KingdomLondon Embassy Packet 3 Question

Go to the UK specific forum. Also, check out the Gallery for scans of the checklist for packet 3 - it's all there!

Isnt this the UK specific forum?? :)

I was alos interested what is needed for packet 3. So far..
- I've sent for my police cert
- I have my b-cert, marriage and divorce cert, my vaccination records for the medical, copy of the original petition & passport photos
- Jamal is coming to the UK in 2 weeks with notorized advicate of support, military pay forms, a letter from his commander and his tax info

I'm waiting for P3 but want everything ready to send back the day I receive it. What else do I need??
JamalNTamFemaleUnited Kingdom2007-03-11 14:42:00
United KingdomShould I be worried?
Well on a good note, Jamal is here with me right now (YAY!). We havent received P3 yet :( But I was wondering when we send it back we only send the checklist, the forms that I fill in right? I dont need to send the I-134, thats for the interview? Jamal brang everything with him except the noa2 and the letter from his bank to support the I-134. Can I just print all the things I need and send that in to the embassy? They takin forever sending the p3 to me!!!
JamalNTamFemaleUnited Kingdom2007-03-25 17:15:00
United KingdomShould I be worried?
 Yes - I know I'm just a big worrier!!! But this whole process does bring out the worrier in the most positive and calm people!!! :)
JamalNTamFemaleUnited Kingdom2007-03-20 13:27:00
United KingdomShould I be worried?
Ok - so by now all of u guys must realize I'm always worrying! I noticed that the 'similar timelines' to me, most people receive packet 3 at the most around 5 days after the London embassy receive the petition from NVC. I called the crazy expensive 0904 number today and they said they had no record of my petition arriving at the embassy! Is that standard? Do they send packet 3 out before they enter them on the system? I've read so many horror stories about peoples petition going missing and it taking mnths to get on track again, I worry tooooo much! lol x

Ok stupid question - I received P3 and I'm gonna send it back tomoro and the only address I can see to send it is 5 Upper Grosvenor Street, is this the right one? I remember people talkin about a po box address so I'm just checkin. Thanks :)

United KingdomMarriage certificate

It's pretty obvious if you have a divorce decree that you were originally married.

You'd think. But, there are still some Consulates that require the previous marriage certificate + the divorce decree from that marriage.

HI GUYS i called london embassy this morning asking if i needed previous marriage certificate. HE SAID YES!!!!! seems a bit daft to me if you have divorce papers to prove its done and dusted . seems like more paper work for nothing not to mention cost of getting a replacement like i have to get doh!!!! HAPPHY EASTER

I spoke to someone on the £1.20 min number and explained the situation and they advised me to email the embassy. So I did that and explained that I cannot obtain a copy and the reply was straight to the point that it wouldnt be required. I printed out a copy of the email to send back with the checklist as I didnt tick that I had a marriage cert. I swear, they better not turn around and say that I've been misadvised!
JamalNTamFemaleUnited Kingdom2007-04-06 14:45:00
United KingdomMarriage certificate
Just got an email back from the embassy who advised that as long as I provide a divorce cert, the marriage one wont be needed! thank god!
JamalNTamFemaleUnited Kingdom2007-04-04 11:27:00
United KingdomMarriage certificate

The US Embassy will operate based on information that the Department of Stae has... accordingly,

Marriage Certificates:

Available. Marriage certificates can be obtained for all civil marriages and other marriages contracted after May 1971 (marriage not registered prior to 1971). Certificates are issued by the Registrar of Marriages, P.O. Box 9183, Dar es Salaam. For a marriage contracted under customary law prior to May 1971, the marriage certificate is obtainable from a church or religious institution. In cases where such a certificate is unavailable, the marriage can be registered with the Registrar of Marriages and a certificate obtained. Since it may not be possible for nonresidents to comply, an affidavit by two persons who witnessed the marriage may be accepted.

http://travel.state..../T/Tanzania.htm

Yep - I wrote to them, I've heard nothing. Organizations in Tanzania have a tendency to 'lose' or 'not see' certain requests. I have no contact number or anything. Even the TZ government will not help, will not put me in contact with anyone and I have emailed them several times and surprisingly received nothing back.
JamalNTamFemaleUnited Kingdom2007-03-29 17:16:00
United KingdomMarriage certificate
Well - We've received the p3 now!! hurrah!!! Anyway, a while back I posted regarding the marriage cert that is needed for prior marriages for the K1. I was having trouble obtaining this as it was in Tanzania and I didnt know what to do. That was areound 2 months ago. Now, I've contacted the UK embassy in Tanzania, the Tanzanian embassy in London and my 'ex' husband (who advised that in Tanzania, as they dont have a computerized system the cannot provide marriage certs once the divorce has been finalized) Now I dont know what to do!! No one can help, even the Tanzanian government! I emailed the US embassy but have received no reponse. What should I do?

United KingdomPacket 4

Yeah I think it's funny that three of us got our interview dates within 2 days of each other and we all have very different dates! One on May 4, one on May 17, and one on May 29th!

Just curious: did JamalNTam put a definite travel date?? We put a wedding date as July 7 and a travel date as June 15th (BUT, we didn't have any evidence that we want to leave by that time..that's just the time we need to be heading back to the states for our July 7th wedding).

Yay for all of us!

Yea - I put travel date of May 10th and wedding date of June 11th! Although it looks like we may need to change the wedding date now coz the airforce wont let Jamal have leave on that time although they already said he could! Stupid military! lol! I still havent receieved packt 4 though .. I wonder where it could be. What exactly is in packet 4??

United KingdomAnnoying travel agents
I'm searching for flights to Phoenix for 17th May and it seems that 1 way is cheaper. The travel agents keep annoying me by trying to scare me into buying a return. They keep saying that sometimes, unless you have a greencard, even with a visa you get rejected if you travel to the states on a 1 way!! I tell them the visa I have is not like that and they argue! How annoying are they - just wanna increase their commission by selling me a more expensive flight!!!
