I checked our case status online and saw "green card production ordered" on August 17. I assume this means our application was approved (adding below).

Make sure to verify the home address and mailing address (if any) with them on the phone. You can also request to speak to an immigration officer (you may have to ask at least twice to be transferred) to get your CR I-89 receipt number, (it is the receipt number of the biometrics letter) so that you can track your case online.

I placed my first call after 30 days and got my CR189 number. On the 60th day I made another call, this time i placed a SR. The response that i got via email two days letter stated i've been assigned a bio date for 8/20. I havent received the letter yet so I dont know if it was a coincidence or the SR actually accelerated things.


This is encouraging news no matter if it was a result of the SR or just through normal processing. It is the first sign of life I've seen for us VSC folks. 30 days after our initial SR expires next week, so we will call again then and see if we can get a similar result.

Instructions: If more than 30 days have elapsed since your NOA1 date and you have not received your biometrics letter, you can call the NCSC and put in service request to the center which you filed to find out that status of the letter. Make sure to verify the home address and mailing address (if any) with them on the phone. You can also request to speak to an immigration officer to get your CR I-89 receipt number, (it is the receipt number of the biometrics letter) so that you can track your case online.

We called USCIS yesterday about our bio appointment not being scheduled. The lady we talked with was very nice, but she said all she could do was put in a request and we would have to wait 45 days. I tried several times to get our actual case number but she was unwilling to get it or to transfer us to someone who might have it. We sent in our package at the very start of our filing window, but it looks like being a week or two late would have actually been better. Very frustrating.

SSA needs to be updated as to her immigration status.... She will use the same number... Does her card have the "Valid for employment only with DHS authorization"... or something like that? If so, you will want to get it replaced with a "clean" one.



I don't have the card in front of me at the moment, but if I remember correctly it does have "Valid for employment only ...".

My wife (Japanese) and I (USC) are moving to the U.S. in August. My wife received a CR1 visa through a DCF. After we arrive in August, what forms do we need to file after we arrive. From what I have been able to find, we have to file the form I-551 to receive her permanent resident card. Then within 90 days of 2 years we have to file the I-751. Any time we move we have to file the AR-11. Is there anything else?

I asked this question in a different manner previously, but now that the time is upon us, I just want to confirm I have the process correct. My wife and I (USC) are moving to the U.S. in 10 days. My wife has a CR1 visa. Are there any requirements for us after we enter the U.S.

1. If I understand properly, CR1 visa holders do not have to file for AOS. So basically all we have to do is wait for my wife's Green Card and SS card to arrive in the mail after we enter the U.S. After 2 years (90 days before) we have to file to remove her conditional status. Other than that, we just have to file change of address forms when we move. Is this correct?

2. At first I thought we had to file the form I-551 after we arrived. Now I understand that the I-551 is the green card itself and will be sent to us automatically. Is this correct?

3. When my wife goes through immigration at the airport, what documents does she need to get back from the immigration officials? I've read of a few cases of people not getting back the right documents at the POE and then having some trouble filing documents later on.

I am just trying to make sure we are not missing some important document/procedure that we are obligated to do.

I'am so sorry to hear that. It was so depressing... I hope there's still way to get her visa. I was just curious what kind of drug it was, if you dont mind can you share it with us... so that the forumers can avoid that drug and may get a clue and do something about it before the interview. I was approved last Oct.12,2007 and NVC havent recieved my case yet ... crying.gif Lucky for those who have their case forwarded to embassy... I just hope that they process it the soonest possible time. Good luck to all of us... smile.gif
