Hi Everyone! I would like to know what are the other things I needed to send to my fiance before filling the I-129f... aside from the G-325a, passport pic, letter of intent to marry, proof of singleness?

Do I need to send our hotel receipt here in my country and all other receipt , my birth certificate, nbi clearance? or i just need to reserve it for my interview? Much of thanks to everyone! ;) Good Day...

Hi everyone! Just want to ask, I was denied to have a tourist visa too, and I'm also worried about it. The reason I put in my ds-156 that time was to visit our family friend... we are not yet engaged that time. Will it be a problem? Please help. :help: Thanks. ;)

Do not blame the visa journey for that, it's only an estimate of the average persons who recived their NOA2. Sometimes I dont check it too because I get disappointed too... Maybe better too check for it once a week, so that we get less depression. hehe wink.gif Sooner or later we're gonna have it, so be patient wink.gif

For working overtime, they sure are taking their sweet time with our petition. Why even say they process the cases "in the order in which they are received" if they don't even come close to that edict?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDoes CSC work Saturdays?
Here's the situation: I-129F filed Nov. 9, 2006. NOA1 sent November 16, 2006. Petition last touched November 18, 2006.

November 18, 2006 is a saturday. As someone who has worked for the Government before, it seems a little odd to me that the employees at USCIS would be putting in overtime on a weekend. When I asked the "oh-so-helpful" lady on the help line if they work on saturdays she wouldn't answer, saying that she doesn't know when they work at all.

So, does anyone know if they put in hours on saturdays at the CSC?

Thanks,
J

He would stay with family until he got his AOS-GC, but then he would be able to join me... he will need a schengen visa to get into the country where I will be working because he would still be a jamaican citizen.
We haven't got an interview date yet, do embassies consider cases where there are time constraints, as far as scheduling is concerned?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresOverseas Job
I recently found out that I will be working overseas starting later this year (Oct). My fiance is still waiting for an interview date for k-1 visa, we've sent in all of the paper work. I'm guessing that he will get a July date. I would like to be married and have all the paperwork and interviews for AOS finished before I leave, but I know that it will take at least 3 months...I'm in need of Advice ASAP. Thanks in advance.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK-1 Visa questions
Is there a minnimum amout of time that you must have known your fiancee prior to putting in for the K-1 visa? From what I've read, the only requirement is to have physically met them within 2 years of applying for a visa. I've known her for about 9 months, but only have physically spent 10 days with her. My 2nd question is the K-1 Visa process really faster than the K-3 process? My fiancee and I have been debaiting whether or not I go down to Brazil to marry in-country, apply for the K-3 visa, or put in for a K-1 visa. Thank you

Thank you for the response. I have another question regarding the I-129. On the I-129F, Do I explain that I first met my fiancee online through a web-site and show our emails from the beginning of our relationship up till now? Or do we only submit information from the time we first met each other physically up till present time?

Hello all,

I met my fiancee on a web-site called U.S. Military Singles, operated by a company called Tangowire. It's not a mail order site or anything, basically just a dating site. I paid a fee for it, my fiancee signed up for a free membership. Should I click the International marriage broker box?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNeed a Co-Sponsor?
Hey all,

I'm a U.S. Citizen currently going through the K-1 Visa process with a Brazilian citizen, should be receiving the NOA2 anyday now. Right now, trying to see if a co-sponsor would be needed to complete the visa process. Right now, I'm currently working a full-time job which will most likely be ending at the end of July 2011. I do not have a job lined up untill October 2011. I made around $37,000 in 2010. I have $20,000 in savings, plus a $10,000 savings bond. I am only sponsoring one person, my fiancee, through the visa process. Do you think a Co-sponsor will be needed?

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedurestranslation translation

They need to be notarize.

Don't you love short answers like this, too bad it's wrong.

"Please submit certified translations for all foreign language documents. The translator must certify that s/he is competent to translate and that the translation is accurate.
The certification format should include the certifier's name, signature, address, and date of certification. A suggested format is:
Certification by Translator

I [typed name], certify that I am fluent (conversant) in the English and ________ languages, and that the above/attached document is an accurate translation of the document attached entitled ______________________________.

Signature_________________________________
Date, Typed Name, Address"

There is no mention anywhere of any notarization. It needs to be certified. This means that the translator says (certifies) that they are fluent in both languages. I have translated all my documents and have seen many others translate their own document.

When you stop and think about it, it doesn't make sense to say that they need to be notarized. A notary needs to understand that what they are notarizing is true. They are not going to put their seal on something they can't understand. While Spanish is common, many other languages aren't, and finding a notary fluent in the language might be impossible. Whether that is the reason or not, a notarization isn't required.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresBirth Certificate translation

Hi, I have a question regarding my husband's birth certificate which is in Portuguese. He's a long-time American citizen and lost the original translated document many years ago. He is petitioning for me and my daughter and his birth certificate is required. Can a friend of the family do the translation or must it be done through a notary public or other recognized person?

Check out this link. Towards the end of the page, you will come across this:

I have translated my own documents and used that form to certify them. I haven't sent in the paperwork yet, but I'm being told by some who have that this is basically all that is needed.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresthis true or not?

1. False, just because she is pregnant from a USC does not mean she can marry and become a citizen..Im pretty sure that is Fraud as it is illegal to go to america wth the intention to get married on a tourist visa. You would ahve to file for a fiance visa, then get her to come over and get married. If only it was that easy it sure would be nice. Whoever told you that was giving you false hopes, sorry.

Just a correction. It is not illegal to come to the U.S. on a visitor visa and get married. If it was, there's a lot of chapels owned by Elvis in Las Vegas that would go bankrupt. What is illegal is to come to the U.S. with the intent to immigrate.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresA significant reduction in I130 approval

Given that the misperception on Indigo's part has been identified and resolved.. the name of this topic is so misleading and can cause noobs to possibly freak out for no real reason... there is no documented increase or decrease in approvals at this point...

only a documented increase and decrease in the volume of case processed from one month to another

Well, hopefully, these "newbs" will read the thread fully and understand that it's nothing to worry about. Heck, "I"'m not worrying and I'm the freaking queen of Freak Out Country.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresA significant reduction in I130 approval

[font="Georgia"]I have a few gander into what happened during the huge spike in mid-2009. According to http://tinyurl.com/29dmsxq, back in 22-JUN-2009, FBI and USCIS eliminated the backlogs of name checking. This significantly sped up the both the processing time on a given application, and increase the number of cases that were denied or accepted. It appears the result of most name checks were "no records found." Rather than doing more research, USCIS just accepted that and moved on to acceptance.

That would make sense. I remember now reading something about FBI check backlog. It was a pretty big time sink I guess, during the whole process.
KittyfangFemaleCanada2010-06-08 09:03:00
IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresA significant reduction in I130 approval

Since you say MAR-10's counts aren't six months old, then everything younger than six months should be excluded. Right? In that case, you end up with data that ends in SEP-10 showing a huge-#### drop in completed cases. And shouldn't it be five months; or in truth 3 months? Six months ago, the graph shows a dip. Five months ago, a dip. Three months ago, a dip. So the conclusion is fewer and fewer cases are being approved now a days. But the number of new cases is constant or increasing.

Aren't the February filers waiting longer than January filers (in general)? This only re-affirms the above graphs, trends, counts, etc.

PS: Completed, I believe, means either accepted or denied.

So there you go. Saying that they're approving less isn't right. They are completing more. To know how much they are denying, we'd need more data.

I mean, it is a good graph and can give you an idea of how much volume they're going trough. From what I can see, I think they're handling more than they use to. Still would love to know ####### happened in June, July and August, but all in all, they seem to be handling this at a higher rate.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresA significant reduction in I130 approval
If you don't spend too much time on June 09, July 09 and August 09 (which were not really consistent with the rest) you can see that their numbers of completion is slowly increasing really.

Also, does Completion mean Acceptance?

Furthermore, it's really not a lot of data. So making a claim like "they're approving less petition now" is not really founded.

Maybe it has nothing to do with it, but I'm really curious to know what the heck happened in June 09, July 09 and August 09 for the number of completed petition to go up like this.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI-751 signature line: who is the spouse?
Hi,

On the I-751 signature lines, who should sign as the spouse? It seems like the U.S. citizen should sign as the spouse (2nd line) and the immigrant whose conditions are to be removed should sign on the top line. However, it is not entirely clear to me.

Thanks,
John

You can also request to speak to an immigration officer (you may have to ask at least twice to be transferred) to get your CR I-89 receipt number, (it is the receipt number of the biometrics letter) so that you can track your case online.
