K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsApproved NOA2!!!!! Yehaaaaw.

congrats! we're now sandwiched in between you and another NOA2 approval, so hoping ours will come soon!!

I have updated my time-line http://www.visajourn...e.php?id=113224
Seems like CSC are taking their time. I hope this news will mean good news for you soon. I know exactly how it feels to be waiting, in fact, last week someone from Vermont who received their NOA1 after ours got their NOA2, but I did not focus on that as they were at a different center. I think CSC are starting to move things along now.

Sending you good vibes out to the universe and lots of luck. :star:

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsDo I dare say this - "But I am GLAD for the long application wait".
I agree with many of the views on this subject. I don't think the time waiting is necessary, but I do think that you can use it in positive ways - like being prepared etc. At the end of the day we are only waiting for a fraction of the time that we will eventually spend with our partner's in forever.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsInterview Today - APPROVED!

Today has been a long, tiresome, anxious, stress filled and eventually a wonderful and teary day.

After a light grilling at the interview over my arrests, the CO was happy that I am a good person and APPROVED my visa!

I got home to be greeted by an uncle and aunt who took me out to dinner for a nice celebratory evening ^_^
My uncle also presented me with my grandmothers wedding ring. She had told him before she passed away that I was to have it when the time was right and I had a real man and a real future

My flight home to Justin is booked for the 8th of November.
I can't wait to see him again

I haven't slept in almost 36 hours, so I am going to sleep soon. Tomorrow I will put up a post on my blog for other VJers to see what to expect at the LONDON Embassy~

~Sarah

Congratulations, fellow Blighty. I love the wedding ring story, I know it has some sadness to it, but you will have so many great memories around that ring. Also, November 8th is a great day to fly!!! I am 40 that day! And, I am out in the states with my Fiance to celebrate it! Yay! Yay for you! Yay!

Enjoy the rest of your journey.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsThanks VJ and VJ Members.
WOW!!! It seemed like forever waiting for our NOA2--129 days from the NOA1 date. So, we got our NOA2 approval on the 22nd of October and then everything started to become a blur. I will go back and trace the vital dates so that I can update my time-line for other folks. Anyway, since the approval and hard-copy notification that the American Embassy in London have our petition and have assigned our new LND case number, I have found myself back on VJ searching for various answers for the up and coming process. I just can't imagine going through this process without the site and all the wonderful people on here. Really!!! I am so grateful for this place.

I have compiled packet 3, checked off all the documents for the embassy interview, looked at as many topics on here for how long people waited from their medical to the interview date - seems like once the medical is sent off it takes about 3-4 working days to get to the embassy and as long as packet 3 is correct about 4 weeks (on the liberal/positive side) for an interview--all being well for the medical.

We are getting there....

So, a BIG thanks to VJ and all it's wonderful community members. Couldn't have got this far without ya! :D

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportshow many would do it again

If God forbid your marriage did not work out and you ended up in divorce, would you consider doing this process for a second time?

Oh my! What a question. The mere thought of things not working out in the long-run is horrible, but if that were ever a reality? I guess, "I would do anything for love, but I won't do that, no, no, I won't do that" Ha, ha. Errr, I guess, I would not rule it out. Love is love - transatlantic, down the street, in the next city - it's all the same.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsAPPROVED!!!!

We just wanted to share our experience at the London Embassy this morning. Best of luck to you ALL! Hang in there, your day will come!! :)

OUR INTERVIEW WAS TODAY!

We were lucky enough to be there together. Our interview was scheduled for 8:30am, however, we arrived at 7:50 and proceeded through security with no problems. Line wasn't bad at all. Once we were given a ticket number we were told to take a seat and wait for our number to be called.

After waiting about 40 minutes, our "I" number was called. We walked up to window 14 and waited about 3 minutes until an English woman came to help us. She was cold, didn't say much of anything, very sarcastic, and questioned everything my fiance said. We were asked to hand over passport, affidavit of support, visa appointment letter and proof of visa payment (Those last two things: you need from the moment you get in line, until you get a decision. Have them in an easily accessible place). The woman then took my fiance's fingerprints, and then handed back his chest x ray results and was told he needs to have it in his hand luggage for entering US. We were then told to sit back down in the waiting area, complete the courier form and wait for your number to be called again (this time for the actual interview).

About 30 minutes passed and our number was called again, we then went to window 15 and was greeted by a very friendly middle aged American man. Verified my fiance's fingerprints first, then he raised his right hand and swore an oath that everything was true and correct to the best of his knowledge and belief. The man then proceeded to ask questions about us and our relationship. Questions were very simple... such as...

1. How did you meet?
2. How have you maintained the relationship (i.e. skype, visits).
3. Why live in America rather than UK? (This threw us off guard). haha
4. What do you both do for work?
5. If any, how much money are you bringing with you to the US?

He then told us we were approved and advised us we would receive the visa in 7-10 days. He explained that your passport (with visa inside) will be delivered to your home. Along with it, will be a sealed envelope with your immigration documents inside. This envelope is to remain sealed and carried in your hand luggage with your chest x ray to give to the customs/immigration at Port of Entry in US.

In total, the process took us 2 1/2 hours. He wished us well and hoped we build a beautiful life together in the United States.

Yay! Congratulations to you both! This is so great to read as I am going to my interview in London on the 15th - next Wednesday. And, although I have read many of these it's so good to read one that is so recent.

Thank you so much for sharing.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsAPPROVED!!!!!!!

Kinga had her interview today and went very, very good. She said the interview was a lot easier than she expected. Just asked the basic question: How did we meet? Have I been to Poland? Has she been in the U.S.? Did you stay longer than six months?
How do we communicate? And do you have any pictures as proof that we have met? Do you any emails? So she pulled out the stack of papers with our skype and google talk. When he seen the stack she had he said thank you very much. asked for passports and said she will receive it back in five business days.
She said to him in english "Thank you and have a nice day". He laughed and said to her "and you too".

Congratulations and all the best to you both!

excellent i have everything i will need for the interview then :) i just had my medical 2 days ago so my results wont reach the embassy until this coming Wednesday or Thursday. how long after your medical did you have to wait to hear from the embassy about your interview date??

10 days starting from the day they received my results ! It won't be long now. I called the embassy and on the third occasion I was told over the phone that my interview date had been set, and was given the date and time. Just as well, as I did not receive the interview invitation letter.

If you call the embassy have your LND case number, passport just in case they ask for the passport number. They will ask you to confirm your address, name and date of birth.

I will look out to see how you get on.

Lots and lots of luck.

I am sure it will go fine for you.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsAPPROVED!!!

thanks thats great :) i do have a question though... are these all i will need for the interview??

visa fee receipt,
invitation letter (i know you can get by without it)
affidavit of support and evidence,
birth certificate and copy,
police certificate and copy,
passport,
2 passport photos,
payment for delivery of visa.... credit or debit card but will accept cash if need be

have i missed anything??
just to make it clear to all UK members... you was not asked for any evidence of ongoing relationship right... no skype logs... no photos... no nothing???

3 U.S passport photo's - make sure you take 3.

Along with Affidavit of support fiance(e')'s Tax Receipts.

Make sure you do have the original of the affidavit of support signed and dated.

No! I wasn't asked for any evidence of our relationship apart from the interview questions. They should have all that in your file by that point.

That's everything that I took with me, except for some extra's for my son, which won't concern you. And, I did take the medical letter and receipt that is issued once you have finalized the medical and paid, but that wasn't asked for. She did also ask me for the the Fiance' letter of intent to marry, (it wasn't a necessity to have it, but it may make you feel more secure having it with you).

Have you had your interview date through yet?

That is very hopeful! We are still waiting for NOA2, or anything. just a simple explanation! Over 6 months so far and nothing. Filed with my congressman and put in a request for status update. So hopefully in a couple of days, we will receive some word. Your news is encouraging. thank you.

I remember how crazy I felt at times waiting for that NOA2. Seriously, it feels like a lifetime, but once you get it things will speed up and you won't have all that time on your hands again. That's how I felt anyway.

Keep busy. Try not to obsess about it (easier said than done) you will get some notification.

LUCK! And, thanks for the congrats. I never felt like I was going to be one of those posting "approved" but I am, and I am sure you will have your day too!

Hang in there!

i want to know now haha :)

congratulations

I am gonna do it later today. :-)

Congrats ! Feels like you've won the lottery doesn't it :)

On to the next stage in the great adventure !

Sure does! Posted Image

Yay!

We made it like so many others. Oh. Yeah! Yerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

This has been a tough experience in many ways, but we made it! I am actually struggling for words. Ha!

Anyone who is in the process, just hang in there, research, research, familiarize yourself with all the Immigration terminology, other people's experiences and be as organized and together as you can when collecting and collating all the evidence and paperwork. Make checklists, and make checklists for the checklist.

Just be a team and you will get through it.

THANK YOU VJ community I would not have got this far without all the invaluable information along the way.

I will update about my experience at the Embassy in London in a few days.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionCUSTOMER SERVICE NUMBER
Called the infamous customer services number regarding my 1-751 case, 3 times out of curiosity because I haven't recieved a biometrics appointment since filing in february 2007 for lifting conditions...

customer service rep 1: said i should goto ASC and try to get a bio appointment WITHOUT an appointment letter
customer service rep 2 : said i had been approved and to wait for my card for upto 6 months.
customer service rep 3: raised a service request for me and told to wait another 45 days.

Had alreday raised a service request in june .. and waited 45 days... also made infopass appointment at beginning of august.....

Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussionwhat if biometrics letter never come
The first infopass appointment I made they said that a biometrics appointment hasn't been sent "duh!, that's why I made the appointment" .. they also said sit tight and wait... "Heard that since I started the entire immigration business!"

2 months later.. phoned uscis and got them to raise a service request.....as I sill hadn't seen a biometrics appointment.

Approximately 2 months later still.. I made another infopass appointment and they said my file had been given to "someone" and to wait further... lady at infopass also e-mailed TSC

To date ... still no biometrics appointment or approval ... Think I will wait until the end of august and make another infopass appointment, or call them up.
