Good Heavens. I thought you were working on your other topic, RE: your letter. Now I'm seeing this post which very much annoys me.
You know what? My fiance is on at the USAF Base in Iraq. Just this morning he called to tell me there has been bombings in Baghdad and its not safe to travel. If its not safe, then military will NOT let the contractors off base to go home! And guess what?? I get to deal with it and so does he. That's the way it is. In fact, if we did get our NOA2 now, and he was scheduled for interview there is a very good chance he wouldn't make it because of situations such as this!!!

And while this is tragic in Russia,and SEVERAL OTHER COUNTRIES whom have been terrorized, there is not one day I don't worry he'll call me during our very limited 3 min phone connection before we lose signal just to say they're going to bunker and he'll call when its safe! That happened on Christmas Morning Al, and you have no idea what I went through for 3 days of silence until he called. And still, I don't get on the forum to whine and complain about it, or grab at straws for an expedited case file.

What you say here is a mockery of the US Govt. for attempting to use this tragic event of others and seeminly selfish of you to even think this is a way to get YOUR BRIDE here any earlier then the rest who wait patiently! Especially, for those who have remained calm, waiting for the day they see their [future] Husband or Wife come home from a war zone and knowing their life is on the line!

I think it was already stated by Bob and Jim that an Expedite is for the USC and it requires a hardship / emergency.

We didn't need this... it was offensive.

They could be doing any number of things in finishing the interview. Maybe your security checks aren't done, maybe they are validating some documents, maybe they are doing a field interview. It is a general title for "more stuff"

Which would be easier? Getting married in Turkey or the U.S.?


In My opinion, it is easier to get married in the USA, BUT if your boyfriend is not able to obtain a tourist visa then you would have to get married in Turkey which would be just fine... would take a little longer BUT that's what you may have to do if you don't decide to go the K-1 route~ If you were able to go to Turkey and live for a short time and get your permanent resident permit after 6 months of residing there you could do the DCF which normally takes 3 months or you can marry there in Turkey go back to the states and do the CR1/IR1 process from there.

Either way you will be fine and good luck!!!

our interview was yesterday and I was in attendance. we had all the standard proof of a relationship e.g. chat logs phone records text logs letters from family and friends. He was interviewed by a woman in english and then given the same questions by a man in arabic. he answered consistently and truthfully for over an hour. I was then interviewed by the same man for about an hour. We were given no specific reasons for denial just the usual "appears to be for immigration purposes" statement. i'm fairly sure that they did not like the fact that I had met him in may 2009 and went to see him in december 2009. the man said " that was quick!!" they also did no tlike our 15 year age difference. that's all i can think that it would be since we co,pared our answers to their questions afterwards and we gave the same;

so, i have tried contacting my senator, no response yet; what about getting in touch aith an attorney, and how do I find a good one?


I am sorry too hear of this BUT DO NOT give up! Did or WILL they give you an official notification stating exactly why this decision was made? Are you or your Husband the older party? I have read on several posts that age difference can be overlooked if they can see that the relationship is true and they have a lot of proof.... I dont see how the Government can decide for a couple based on their age....:no: FGS!

You can call them anyway and ask what to do.Do not worry for NOA2 bcz NOA2 will come to your address, but for interview packet it is important because the Embassy in Manila will send this packet to her so better call them if it is not possible do online.

hello to everybody ...i am in ankara right now (surmeli hotel ankara)its realy nice... today i arrived ankara 5:30 in the morning..i just came to hotel check in is normaly 12:00 afternoon..they accepted...i got breakfast and took shower little rest talked with my wife.and i went to doctor 10:00..i want to let know...first when i arrive there they did take money 50$ they took my blood and xrey...it was only 25 minutes they told thaat doctor will check me 3:30 afternoon.. i said ok. i came to hotel i sleep . before i sleep i put alarm...when my alarm was ringin i wake up 2;00 but i felt a sleep again its nice to sleep. i wake up again cuz my cell phone was ringing she was my wife calling me..i look at time OMG 3:10 only 20 munites for interview with doctor i was hurry up and i just wash my face put clots on and i went to see doctori was at doctor3:35 its not late but i was fast .i waited 15 more munites and doctor called me and he asked me if i have any operation.any tuberculoses any bloodplessure.. any psychological.. and he gave two injections ..and told me tomorrow 3:00 afternoon the results should be ready...i paid 290$ again total 340$.and they gave a cd told to save this when i go us they will ask me for that..and thats it i am hungry i ordered food now i am eating thank u all ... i hope everybody will get their visa...

I have a question to ask. My fiance has an opportunity to change his job, but we already sent in the I 129F package with information about his old job. We got our NOA 1 and now we are waiting. We were wondering on how this may influence the whole case? Do we need to report the switch of jobs to USCIS? And if so, how do we do it and how it may affect our case? Will it make it slower?

Hi everybody. I send my I 129F for K1 Visa July 12.I got my NOA 1 July 17.Today is my 158 th day.And today i call USCIS for second time. First time i call December 17.I was very happy then, because they told me in 2 days i must hear from them. But 5 days after, i hear NOTHING, so i decided to call again. A very kind lady was trying to help me. She was really nice. I spend more than 30 minutes talking to her.She start asking many questions, and she said, she is going to give me ,a Referral Number, for my Service request. At the end she told me that i have to call again after 15-30 days, because I AM NOT OUTSITE THE NORMAL PROSSEDING TIME OF 5 MONTHS. I try to explain to her that i am over the 5 months[ 6 days over]. She was saying to me, that the computer do not accept my service request, and she can not give me a referral Number, because i am under 5 months.Call back after 15-30 days, it was the only thing she advice me to do. What i do now? Did anybody got the same respond? Good luck to all of us. Thank you.

Our NOA1 is July 21 we got our NOA2 on December21 but t was issue on December10 so we got it after 8 days.I think yours on it was and it could be delay maybe bcz of Christmas and many of workers toke vacations, but still you need check for it.I hope it will come soon.Just be patient I know how it is hard to be patient because i was irritating too when was awaiting our NOA2 but then it came and now even have no time need fast preparing rest documents so do not worry it will come if even little later. :thumbs:

Hello,

My fiancee lives in Kyrgyzstan and her nearest U.S. consulate is in the capital Bishkek. However, they do not process immigration visas there, which are handled in nearby Almaty, Kazakhstan instead. Should I inform USCIS that she will be applying in Almaty or will the file automatically be forwarded to the nearest consul which handles immigration visas?

BTW, I heard Manila doesn't accept co-sponsors, is this true of other consulates or is it an unusual limitation?

I am original from Kyrgyzstan but currently live in Turkey.One friend of mine was apply for K1 visa I-129F, so she is from Kyrgyzstan too and she said they was go trough Kazakhstan embassy because Kyrgyzstan one do not issue.But I am not sure where they were applying,but I think you still need apply from Kyrgyzstan and NVC will directly send package to the embassy which will needed for you.

I tried to contact Muslima.com, but so far no reply from them. I do not know how to answer that question. Should I just go ahead and answer "yes" if I am not sure?

Hi Everyone,

We hit 5 months of waiting for our NOA2 yesterday so I called USCIS today. They were way nicer than I expected, gave me some info that I wanted to pass on to all of you. May or may not be the truth.

The first person I spoke to was very nice but yes, clearly reading off her script. She acknowledged that my case was outside the 5 month waiting period for a reply and said she couldn't access any more information on her computer so she was going to "escalate my call". The next guy I got was not reading off a script and was also very nice. He said that what I see on the USCIS website (check your case status, etc.) actually has some fine print on the bottom that has the "last updated" date and it was currently 10/31/10 so more than likely he had more current info in his system. (Who knew?) Then he told me that USCIS (perhaps he was just referring to VSC) is currently processing K-1s that were filed on 7/10 and that mine was filed on 7/16 (my NOA1 was actually 7/21, but maybe 7/16 is when they received it???) So he said they are scheduled to give me a decision in 6 days. I told him I would be calling back in 6 days if I had no new info and he told me to please go ahead and do that but that I should have a decision in 6 days. He said he was an immigration officer.

Then I asked him about the information that is floating around that USCIS (specifically VSC) is backed up processing Temp Status Protection visas for Haitian refugees and that K-1s have been put on hold for that. He was like "where on earth did you get a story like that?" I told him someone who called USCIS was told that. He said no way would USCIS ever say or do that because the first thing that would happen in response would be that everyone who had filed before the Haitians would start complaining that things were happening out of order.

What do you all think? Anyone hear a story like this when they called USCIS? Do you think there's any truth in it?

I was writ already heee before. We are July21 and we got our NOA2 on December18. We had only one touch and then my fiancée called them on December15 something like this.Now we are waiting our package from Embassy and very impatient to get it.

I just said goodbye to the one I love after a amazing 3 weeks together. The plan is that I wont see her for nearly 6 months. We both are finishing school and she has a lot of wedding planning to do. We're currently in the K1 proces (September 2010 filers) aiming that our wedding will be on Augst 6. 2011 and me leaving to be with her in July.

Now Im really down with that time that we have to be apart. This is the longest we havent seen eachother, herefor almost 4 months. Now my question is to see how long other people havent seen there beloved ones, hopefully it will make me feel better.

We are K1 I-129F filler and as I know you no need submit any of your taxes record for send petition, you will need get your tax and affidavit of support Form I-134 after getting your NOA2.I suggest you do not waste money on lawyer and just follow on instruction on USCIS( www.uscis.gov) website.

can someone PLEASE help me how to obtain those TAX TRANSCRIPTS n what kind?? for the visa :( im sorry im asking this again but im reallllyy starting to stress out now... :( because my N02 is only valid until February 15 and i still have to send my fiance the paperwork .. he had problems with his papers.... i tried calling the embassy they told me oh dont worry it wont expire, it cant .. why do they have a form than for extension? :/ if it cant expire ughhh!!!!

The W2 is mailed to you by your employer and 1040 form is filled by you when you submit your taxes and earnings by April 15 each year.

I am very disappointed to find out how slow the K1 time line is. We filed a little over 2 months ago and apparently with the rate it's going we will have to wait at least 6 months, before we can start a life together.

Since I have met him in August I have been to Turkey 4 times. I used up my vacation time and looks like I will not be able to travel at least for a few months. It seems like the only solution is to give Tourist Visa a try.

My questions is: Has anyone ever tried this, or know someone who did? I know it's legal and doesn't affect the K1 decision, but is there any hope for approval? What measures could we take to make it possible, etc.

My suggest to you is be patient and wait as all of us doing same.No need waste money and touristic visa is very hard to get.Just keep faith and patient and you will get K1 visa soon, we all know how it is irritating waiting time but then you will forget about this irritating time.My love and I was mad during the waiting time and i did not see him almost 7 month and badly miss him, but we got NOA2 and now the process will go fast I am sure.

Hi All,

Just wanted to let you all know that today my fiancé has called me and she was approved for visa finally. Interview went well and tomorrow she will go back to pick up her passport with VISA in it. Ohh yeah... :yes:
It was a long journey, no questions about that, but patience has paid off. I wish all members good luck in their journey.

I am sooooooo happy and glad that this is done. She will be here within a month and can't be more happy about it… OMG…. It's a great day for us today.

I have not really looked at next step moving forward once she arrives here, but as far as I know now we have to get married, apply for social security card and adjustment of status. Am I missing anything???

Can someone please be kind enough and to point me in a right direction of steps to take once she arrives here. Sorry I am beyond happy and I can barely type and at work ... :lol:

Just saw your topic and want say that the age difference no matter me and my fiancé have 12 years of difference and met one time and i do not think who meet more then once mean that they have stronger relationship.The police officer will see it if you really love each other or not so do not worry everything will be great :dance: Just make ready more evidence that all and prepare to answer to all questions about your fiancé :D

P.S. our second meet will be when he will come get me and we will fly to our home :lol:

This is a grown up conversation!
So I have noticed that some fiance' visa applicants are asked about having sex with their partners and are asked to produce intimate photos. While some folks do have sex, others think its bad form to have sex before marriage. This doesn't seem to vary by nation but more perhaps by religious proclivity.

How can consular officers ask about or expect that those of us in Fiance' relationships will have had sex???
And honestly my sex life is none of their business, but I'll answer the questions if it gets my fiance here. I think it borders on cruel and unusual punishment.

So I've been helping my fiancé fill out his papers from the packet three, and the DS-156 was done electronically on the governments website. But the DS-156k pdf file on the gov's website is all... glitchy. It has "undefined" written in all sorts of slots and none of it makes any sense. I thought maybe that was put there on purpose but clearly this is not the case since the example form here on vj is without these things. Here's a link to the page...

I don't know what to do since this is the only place I can find with the up to date version of this form i.e. 2010. Can I just fill it out like this, will the visa officer not take the form like this even though it was like this on their site? Any help is appreciated!

Yes it is in PDF file and i had fill DS-156K too. And i had same problem as you.So i did Save As on my PC and fill it like that, so it was ok. So only DS-156 form you will fill online because there will be bar code after printed it. :)

Hello dear friends,

Today I had my interview and I want share with details with you and hope it will help you with something if even little bit :)

So I arrived to the US Embsayy in Ankara at 06.00 morning so it was very early because my interview time is at 8.30 :lol: So when I go to have breakfast in caffe and when I get out then I saw many people already there LOL how fast they came there :lol:

So, there ofcourse were people with different visas and every visa had different waiting place. So the police officer will come out and call which visa kind can come in.So he will bring your passport then check then let you go in,do not forget pay visa fee and bring receipt with you.So when yu come in the greater person will ask from you:
1.Your passport
2.Passport Photos (do not forget that they except photos only in special place)http://turkey.usemba...visa_forms.html it is link for all you can find info.
3.K1-Visa Fee Receipt
4.Medical Exam (do not bring with you X-ray)
5.Proof of relationship between youand your Fiancé

So these all things you will need hold on hand and give her when she ask.
Then she will give you waiting number by what you will be called to the window for finger print, then will go sit and wait and wait when your number will be shown again on screen and will go for interview.My interview took only 10-15 minutes,I think because my package was perfect and have everything what they asked.So the consular ask me several questions like:

-How did you met with your fiancé?
-What he is doing for living?
-Did you meet in person, when?
-And he asked about my family and me.

So after ths he smile and said your are approved please go to the UPS window and fill for shipment :D

Most important prepare everything how they ask it,and it will go smoothly.

I see on VJ Timeline that many people who got NOA1 in Oct already got NOA1 but some people in June and July still have not gotten NOA2, how is the California Service Center processing these application? It does not look like they are processing on first come first serve basis.

We are in CSC and our NOA1 on July 21 so on December21 we should get our NOA2 but i afraid that there will be delay,seems they very slow with June and July fillers, I saw some people get faster if even they after us.I am so sad.

I am not really sure what that, but I think it is when you send package to Embassy or USCIS and then when they send you package with interview invitation etc,so all this they I think split on packages:)))))

Hi everyone. Great site here.

I am wondering if there's anyone who started as an online relationship that could offer some advice.

As we're starting to put the petition together, I'm starting to get nervous if we have enough acceptable evidence. We've been in the relationship for a year now. I've got original chat logs dating from a year ago, but the names are not our RL names. I can easily prove my account by verifying with payment records. I don't think he does though. I've got some emails as well as chat logs using gmail and skype. I'm figuring out how to extract skype to skype calls (on a MAC), as this is our primary form of communication. I've been to visit him and his family for the holidays, but it was only for 2 weeks. So, I've got pictures, boarding passes, hotel and flight itineraries, etc etc. We wanted to send in the petition sometime between now and spring time. Is this sufficient? I was planning to go again this summer, but I may not have the financial means when taking into account our future wedding and the whole visa/AOS fees. I'd prefer not to wait out another year or half year before filing a petition...but I'm starting to wonder if the 2nd one month trip in the summer would be a better insurance for our case.

Any advice from people who've been in a similar situation?

...Also as a note. I know a lot of people are weary of online relationships. We've been at this for a year now. We don't hide things from each other just because it's over the 'net. And it's amazing how many mannerisms/habits one picks up spending with someone 24-7 in as short as 2 weeks. lol The time we spent in person was just as we always do (only better and not between computer screens). We're willing to wait a bit longer to file if we have to. But, we're both at a point in our lives where we're ready to settle down and start our life and family together...like everyone here :) But I guess...I'm just getting nervous cause we didn't meet the conventional way.

We met online with my Fiancée too. Now most of people meet online and it does not affect on K1 at all.If you have all your evidence then no worry. :dance: You can visit your fiancee one more time if want but two weeks it is enough because we had meet for two weeks too :D

Are you the foreign spouse? I think the best thing to do, is to train your USC spouse on how to do all of this NVC paperwork and processing.

A few weren't. At least some this month. None of it really makes too much sense though. The date posted on USCIS website is rather useless IMO when March filers are steadily getting approved now. I would expect the date to at least be 'March 1st' for the sake of argument, but what's a day give or take a few? My head hurts just attempting to make any sense out of it. :wacko:


Seriously... I even tried to make up some sense out of all those dates hopelessly looking for a sequence, but yeah, useless. :)

Latest news is, now they won't get a Tier 2 person on the line for us. What gives?
